UK-based man lost his two daughters and brother in the horrific Kenyan accident

Daniel Kimani, a Kenyan living in the United Kingdom, lost two of his daughters and his younger brother in theSaturday night horrific Naivasha crash, while his wife and one daughter sustained serious injuries.

The tragic road accident at Karai on the Nairobi-Nakuru highway involving more than 12 vehicles claimed nearly 40 lives. It all started when a Ugandan-registered light truck, which was carrying yet-to-be-identified flammable substances, exploded. The truck driver lost control of the vehicle after hitting a bump, crashed into vehicles heading to Nairobi.

Kimani’s brother, David Kamau, was driving the four to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where they were to board a UK-bound flight to visit their father.

Speaking to People Daily on phone, an inconsolable Kimani, who resides in Mitcham, South West London, said he was communicating with the family until6pm (London time) when he could no longer get hold of them.

"I called my wife and a person by the name Ng’ang’a picked her phone asking me to identify myself. I did and my worst fears were confirmed," he said. Ng’ang’a, he said, informed him that his wife and one daughter had been injured "

"Why them? My daughters Mary Njoki, 14, and Eva Wambui, 17, a Form Three student at Kibutha Secondary in Murang’a perished together with my younger brother David Kamau," he added. His wife, Violet Kimani and 24-year-old daughter, Juliet Wairimu, survived the grisly accident that threw the nation into mourning.

"My wife was treated at Avenue Park Hospital and discharged but Wairimu is still admitted at the hospital,” said the father of three. Kimani, who works as a clinical officer in the UK where he has lived for 10 years, last saw his family during the April holidays when they visited him. He described his departed daughters as full of life, passionate and ambitious.

"It is painful but God’s time is the best. They died a painful death but may God rest their souls in peace. I am happy that my wife and my daughter survived. I cannot question God and I send my condolences to the families and relatives of other victims," he said.
Two of the vehicles were carrying GUS and Administration Police officer from the elite VIP protection unit. 11 GSU officers died. Three Ugandans...the truck driver and two passengers died in the accident.

Ronaldo Wins 2016 Ballon d’Or

Ronaldo Wins 2016 Ballon d’Or

Portugal and Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has won the prestigious Ballon d'Or award as the best player in Europe for a fourth time, to cap an impressive 2016 for his club and country.

The Portuguese forward beat out the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Luis Suarez, rival Lionel Messi, to take home France Football magazine’s coveted award.

Ronaldo, who is one short of Messi’s record of 5 Ballon d’Or, was the overwhelming favourite after a stellar 12 months in which he won Euro 2016, the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup.

He led Real Madrid to the 2016 Champions League title and captained Portugal to the 2016 European Championship title in July.

I guess it's really a deserved one.  Hope we have a new name in the next award cause we seem to be tired of the names Christiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi

President Buhari to fly to Gambia to persuade Pres Jammeh to handover power

President Buhari to fly to Gambia to persuade Pres Jammeh to handover power

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Tuesday, December 13th fly off to Gambia in a bid to seek an end to the political lock-jam in the West African country, caused by a "stubborn" ruler.

President Buhari will be joined by other West African leaders in Gambia, in the move for peace.

Following an authoritarian ruler, Yahya Jammeh's refusal to accept defeat to the President-elect. Mr. Adama Barrow at the Just concluded elections, many world leaders are worried.

Many have wondered why President Jammeh is trying to play pranks after over 22 years in power. Cause what seems worrisome is him denying he conceded defeat. Hope Presidents Buhari will succeed in convincing him.

Good night for now

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni during an unscheduled visit to Agbowa Police Station, Epe today, ordered the release of a lady and her baby arrested for stealing plantain in Agbowa Market, Epe.

The lady on interrogation by the CP explained that she was pushed into stealing the plantain because she and her baby were hungry.

The CP on hearing this, gave the lady N10,000 and warned her never to repeat the act again. How kind of him...more photos after the cut...

Thanks to the wise decision cause most of them get the justice in full.  Heed onto the wise advice my dear sister.

RIP! Legendary Super Eagles player Dejo Fayemi dies at 83

RIP! Legendary Super Eagles player Dejo Fayemi dies at 83

Former Super Eagles and Shooting Stars player who is the first Nigerian to play at the old Highbury Stadium of Arsenal Football Club of England, has passed away.

According to the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), former IICC Shooting Stars and Red Devils (now Super Eagles) striker, Dejo Fayemi is dead. He died on Friday morning at his residence situated at Odo-Ona Elewe, Ibadan, at the age of 83.

He was part of the National team when they were referred to as the Red Devils, and was among the first set of Nigerians who travelled to England to play football just after Independence.

In 1961, Fayemi wrecked the Independence celebration for Sierra Leone with his goal in a match to mark the country’s attainment of a republic.

He had seven goals to show after his last international cap against Morocco in 1964 where Nigeria lost 2-1.

Pa Fayemi inspired the Ibadan Lions to win the then Challenge Cup in 1959 and 1961 after losing in the 1960 final.

He also played professional football during his stay in the United Kingdom for further studies before he retired from active football in the early 1970s.

When it rains the Whites think of farming, Blacks think of s*x – Donald Trump

Hahaha....and funny enough, Donald Trump is right again. Come to social media, especially Twitter anytime it's raining in Lagos and all you'll be seeing on the timeline is 'weather for 2, weather for 2', even by people who are not married. Nawa!

The Billionaire and US President-elect used some harsh words to described the blacks:

“African Americans are very lazy. The best they can do is gallivanting around ghettoes, lamenting how they are discriminated. These are the people America doesn’t need. They are the enemies of progress.

In general, when it rains white people think of farming and black people just want s*x.

Look at African countries like Kenya for instance, those people are stealing from their own government and go to invest the money in foreign countries. From the government to opposition, they only qualify to be used as a case study whenever bad examples are required.

How do you trust even those who have ran away to hide here at the United States, hiding behind education?

I hear they abuse me in their blogs but I don’t care because even the internet they are using is ours and we can decide to switch it off from this side. These (Africans) are people who import everything including matchsticks.

In my opinion, most of these African countries ought to be recolonized again for another 100 years because they know nothing about leadership and self governance.”

Chai!! This man really 'finishing' Africans!

There are conflicting reports as to the the number of casualties in last Saturday's incident where the building of Reigners Bible Church in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, collapsed during a church programe, killing scores of worshipers.

While some of the worshipers who survived the incident say they saw as much as 300 dead bodies, the Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Akwa Ibom State Branch, Dr. Aniekeme Uwah, in a statement released yesterday, said only 21 persons were brought in dead to the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH) while 2 others died in the hospital.

Meanwhile the police in a statement released yesterday, said only 27 people died in the incident.

The state governor, Udom Emmanuel, who was inside the Church building when it collapsed, has declared a two-day mourning period throughout the state over the incident. He has also ordered an investigation into the remote causes of the collapse of the building will be investigated.

Stampede at T.B Joshua's church leaves thrwe people dead.  What's really going on in this Man's life?

Three people died in a stampede at Prophet T.B Joshua's Synagogue Church of All Nations church in Ikotun, Lagos state on Saturday December 10th. According to reports, the stampede happened during the church's healing service when many of the worshipers thronged to meet with the Prophet.

Three of them collapsed as they made their way through the crowd to see the prophet. They were confirmed dead at the Isolo General Hospital where they were rushed to. This is more than what the ear could fathom but the problem is that many will read it to different diversions but for me,  the man needs to be questioned

Nigerians react to the vial photo of an open drain, a street hawker, a Pastor and a Rolls Royce. What a country

Twitter user posted the photo above illustrating Nigeria. He wrote:

"Nigeria illustrated - An open drain on one side, a school age street hawker on the other, & a Pastor & his Rolls Royce in the middle. - Ona"

A lot of Nigerians reacted to the tweet with mixed feelings. Read some of the reactions below:

Wondering if there were social media during the era of Jesus Christ and his ancestors,  maybe we will not be blaming these morons flying around calling themselves pastors, evangelist and so on,  but they ought not to forget that one day they will give up the ghost and when they do,  I hope their wealth will follow them there.

There are reports of shooting and ballot box snatching in Rivers State election rerun. More teets after the cut...

Still wondering when Nigerians will realise that they don't need to kill one another over these greedy politicians cause they don't worth it an inch.  May God grant them rest and give their family the fortitude to bear the loss

Is Peter Okoye throwing shade at Cynthia Morgan?

Is Peter Okoye throwing shade at Cynthia Morgan?

Peter Okoye, of the Psquare duo, just posted this photo of a lady wearing horrible make-up on Instagram and he asked his fans what name they would give the lady if she were an artist.
The artist went on to suggest he’ll name her Cynthia mud-face – a name which sounds almost like Cynthia Morgan. When you add that to the fact that the lady in the picture has red hair, same color of hair the reggae artist likes to wear – it almost seems as though he’s referring to his female colleague.

Note also that earlier this year, Peter had gone on a rant where he revealed that he was close to signing Cynthia Morgan to his record label, P-Classic, and had even given her the contract to go through, only for her to return it to him and went on to sign with his brother, Jude Okoye.

Ghana's main opposition leader, Nana Akufo-Addo, has won the west African country's presidential election with an absolute majority over President John Mahama, two influential private radio stations said on Friday.

In his first comment since the election, Mahama said on Twitter on Friday he would wait for official results, in a seemingly softer tone from Thursday when a senior member of his National Democratic Congress (NDC)camp said Mahama was ahead.

"Let's allow EC (Electoral Commission) to carry out its constitutional mandate. We'll make Ghana proud no matter outcome" of the election, he said in a tweet on his official account.

Ghana's record of peaceful elections since 1992 and regular changes of government through the ballot box stands as a beacon in a region that has seen a series of civil wars and coups.

Mahama fought the election against the backdrop of an economy that has slowed since he took power in 2013, in part because of lower global prices for the West African country's exports of gold, oil and cocoa.

Joy FM radio and Citi FM based their projections on results from Wednesday's election given at the constituency level ahead of an official final tally that the electoral commissioner said would likely be announced by Saturday.

Joy FM's website showed Akufo-Addo winning with 53 percent of the vote and Mahama on 45.2 percent, based on a count of 218 constituencies out of 275 in total. Citi FM gave Akufo-Addo 54.8 percent based on 190 constituencies.

IMF PROGRAM

If confirmed, it would be a bigger victory than recent presidential elections. Akufo-Addo said on Thursday he was "quietly confident" of victory and his party had also picked up 49 seats in parliament to give it a majority.

The government is mid-way through an International Monetary Fund program to restore fiscal stability in the face of an increased budget deficit, elevated inflation and a currency that has halved in value since 2014.

Akufo-Addo's New Patriotic Party (NPP) says the government mismanaged national finances and has promoted its own plans for job creation in line with its free market ideology.

The currency was not impacted by the early election calls on Friday, but continued its downward trend against the dollar, a trader said, adding that the cedi stood at around 4.3 to the U.S. dollar.

Akufo-Addo, 72, served as attorney general and then as foreign minister in the New Patriotic Party government, which held power for eight years starting in 2001.

The electoral commission is set to begin releasing results on Friday and complete the process by Saturday.

Woman jailed for sending death threats to herself while trying to implicate her ex boyfriend

Woman jailed for sending death threats to herself while trying to implicate her ex boyfriend

Stephani Renae Lawson (pictured) has been jailed for posing as her ex-boyfriend, Tyler Parkervest and sending death threats to herself.

Lawson created Facebook profiles to send eight messages pretending they were from Tyler. The messages she sent to herself included threats to kill herself and beat herself up after the couple broke up.

She lied to police and they arrested Mr Parkervest. He was treated like a criminal right up to trial until loopholes were found in the case.

Police realised IP addresses of the messages came from devices belonging to her and decided to investigate more. Tyler was cleared of four charges of stalking, threatening, kidnapping and battering, while Lawson was arrested in Orange County, California.

She was arrested for false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud, or deceit, and one felony count of perjury. Initially she denied the charges but changed her plea at the last moment. Lawson has now been jailed for a year.

Graphic photo: Final year student of Ogun State College health technology,  Ilese crushed to death by truck

A final year Dental Health student of Ogun State college health technology Ilese identified as Blessing was crushed to death by a fully loaded truck allegedly belonging to Nigerian Breweries on Tuesday, December 6th. Below is the report as published on Facebook by Ibe Caleb:

"Its tragic how one loses an important person, still going through pains of the lost soul the worst happens........Today being the 6th of December 2016 a final year student of OGUN STATE COLLEGE OF HEALTH TECHNOLOGY IN THE DEPARTMENT OF DENTAL THERAPY was on her way back from the bank to withdraw her project money and the little feeding allowance attached to it, got crushed by the NIGERIAN CONSOLIDATED BREWERIES TRUCK loaded with lots of alcoholic drinks i.e 33,Goldberg...... Funny enough before the arrival of the students down to the accident scene, the Nigerian Consolidated Breweries officials had called the attention of soldiers of ILESE Barracks who shot speedily at students,as a matter of fact students got injured especially females students,as if that wasn't enough the soldiers of ilese barracks invaded the school premises and still shot at the students....CORRUPTION which was the leading theme in Nigeria as a whole was evident in the DEAN OF STUDENT
AFFAIRS OF OGUN STATE COLLEGE OF HEALTH....

How much longer do we have to live like this?? As i write now 9 students of OGUN STATE COLLEGE OF HEALTH ILESE IJEBU are currently in the hospital and then in tears and trauma i ask this question....WHERE IS NIGERIA GOING??WHY CANT STUDENTS HAVE A SAY??MUST CORRUPTION ALWAYS SPEAK ??...........Talking about the NIGERIAN SOLDIERS whose primary objective is to ''protect the citizens'' left their duty post after being lured and bribed by the NIGERIAN CONSOLIDATED BREWERIES OFFICIALS to beat unarmed innocent students...95% of the students of OGUN STATE COLLEGE OF HEALTH TECHNOLOGY who are girls were serious dealt with and striped naked....Tears dropped from my eyes when an 100 level student had an asthma attack due to the shock......

I Thought we had a government??why???? OGUN STATE COLLEGE OF HEALTH has been the most peaceful campus for 40 years now and won several awards where holistic health is practiced Will NOT BE MUTE IN THE FACE OF INJUSTICE,IN THE FACE OF TYRANNY ..As we all know JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED ...

Here are our demands.....Firstly the truck driver should be produced and persecuted..Secondly the truck should be produced, thirdly an ATM machine should be provided in the school premises because if students did not have to go down to withdraw this wouldn't have happened...for the soldiers who beat up students should also be provided....A 48HRS ultimatum has been set -....#OPERATION OCCUPY NIGERIAN BREWERIES LOADING!!!!!!!!!#CONCERNED STUDENTS FOR THE UNION......#AN INJURY TO ONE IS AN INJURY TO ALL!!!!!! R.I.P BLESSING"

But on my own account,  though I wasn't there,  the Okada man that drove the lady rode on recklessly and had to over take the trailer which failed it's control as an oncoming car was approaching so had no choice but to slow down and was hit from behind,  am not there but with that judgment the truck driver is at no where to be blamed.  For the families and friends of Blessing , I pray God to give you all the fortitude to bear the loss.  Rest in peace
