I did not collect N100m from Dasuki - Odili says

I did not collect N100m from Dasuki - Odili says

Former governor of Rivers State, Peter Odili has released a statement denying claims that he received N100 million from the embattled former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) through former minister of state, finance, Bashir Yuguda. Odili who is a chieftain of the former ruling party, said the only money he collected was from PDP which was released by for the 2015 elections contact and mobilisation committees of the party.

“My attention has been drawn to some publications where a former Minister of State (Finance), Mr Bashir Yuguda was quoted to have said that he allegedly gave me the sum of N100 million, out of the money he purportedly collected from the former National Security Adviser,” he said in a statement Tuesday.
"I decided to personally sign this rebuttal because over the years, I had ignored various spurious and patently false reports against me because I know that at the fullness of time, the truth would surely prevail. I categorically state with all sense of responsibility that I have never had any dealings, private or business or official, with the former National Security Adviser, so the issue of allegedly collecting N100 million from either the former NSA or Mr Yuguda does not arise,” he stated Odili went further to state that "The party, not the former NSA or Yuguda gave the South -South Committee through me, the sum of N100 million along with other zonal Chairmen, in the house of the National Chairman, Dr. Adamu Muazu, for the assignment. This amount was subsequently disbursed to the relevant party members from the zone for the assignment given by the party. I have the appointment letter and terms of reference, minutes of all the meetings, signatures of all the members and the report of the zonal committee, which was duly submitted to the Party Leader. I reiterate for the purpose of emphasis, that I had no dealings with the former NSA, neither did I collect any money from Yuguda. I challenge anyone who has any contrary evidence to produce it,”.

A touching love story

A Beautiful Heart Touching Love Story which will Touch your Heart....... .......

There was once a guy who suffered from cancer... a cancer that can't be treated. He was 18 years old and he could die anytime. All his life, he was stuck in his house being taken cared by his mother.

He never went outside but he was sick of staying home and wanted to go out for once. So he asked his mother and she gave him permission. He walked down his block and found a lot of stores.

He passed a CD store and looked through the front door for a second as he walked. He stopped and went back to look into the store. He saw a young girl about his age and he knew it was love at first sight. He opened the door and walked in, not looking at anything else but her. He walked closer and closer until he was finally at the front desk where she sat.

She looked up and asked "Can I help you?" She smiled and he thought it was the most beautiful smile he has ever seen before and wanted to kiss her right there. He said "Uh... Yeah... Umm... I would like to buy a CD." He picked one out and gave her money for it. "Would you like me to wrap it for you?" she asked, smiling her cute smile again. He nodded and she went to the back. She came back with the wrapped CD and gave it to him. He took it and walked out of the store. He went home and from then on, he went to that store everyday and bought a CD, and she wrapped it for him. He took the CD home and put it in his closet. He was still too shy to ask her out and he really wanted to but he couldn't.

His mother found out about this and told him to just ask her. So the next day, he took all his courage and went to the store. He bought a CD like he did everyday and once again she went to the back of the store and came back with it wrapped. He took it and when she wasn't looking, he left his phone number on the desk and ran out...

!!!RRRRRING! !! The mother picked up the phone and said, "Hello?" It was the girl!!! She asked for the boy and the mother started to cry and said, "You don't know? He passed away yesterday... " The line was quiet except for the cries of the boy's mother. Later in the day. the mother went into the boy's room because she wanted to remember him. She thought she would start by looking at his clothes. So she opened the closet. She was face to face with piles and piles and piles of unopened CDs.

She was surprised to find all those CDs and she picked one up and sat down on the bed and she started to open one. Inside, there was a CD and as she took it out of the wrapper, out fell a piece of paper. The mother picked it up and started to read it. It said: Hi... I think U R really cute. Do u wanna go out with me? Love, Jacelyn .

The mother opened another CD... Again there was a piece of paper. It said: Hi... I think U R really cute. Do u wanna go out with me? Love, Jacelyn .

Love is... when you've had a huge fight but then decide to put aside your egos, hold hands and say, "I Love You . . .

" Moral of The Story: If you Really Love Someone please Express your feeling and let them know how much you Love them,That person might also love you in the same way as you love them Before it is too late........ ........

My Advice is to all those who are in love to express your love to the person you love before it is too late....... ************ ********* ********* *****

CCTV shows the shutter falling shut to keep out the robbers but not before one was able to reach in and grab Rolex watches and jewellery worth £12,000, police said. The four men then made off using three motorcyles.

A 17-year-old boy from Southwark, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to serve three years in a youth detention centre.

Police believe other may have been involved with the incident and enquiries continue to trace them, Scotland Yard said.

The Met praised members of the public who aided the enquiry by reporting relevant discoveries and observations to the police. One person found a backpack containing clothing, which had been weighed down with bricks, on the Thames shore near Rotherhithe Street, Southwark.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Andy McGuire, of the Met’s Flying Squad, said:

"This is the perfect example of how members of the public reporting what may seem to be insignificant things can actually help police crack a case. This was an aggressive robbery which left store staff shaken and onlookers terrified, but thanks to the quick reactions of local officers, information from the public and team work across the Met, these men are now in prison."

Take that decision now.

Take Decisions

You don't ever have to feel guilty about
removing toxic people from your life. It
doesn't matter whether someone is a
relative, romantic interest, employer,
childhood friend, or a new
acquaintance — you don't have to make
room for people who cause you pain or
make you feel small.
It's one thing if a person owns up to
their behavior and makes an effort to
change.
But if a person disregards your feelings,
ignores your boundaries, and
"continues" to treat you in a harmful
way, they need to go.

Procrastination is an enemy of progress

Procrastination is an enemy of
progress

Put a frog in a vessel of water and start
heating the water… As the temperature
of the water rises, the frog is able to
adjust its body temperature
accordingly… The frog keeps on
adjusting with increase in
temperature…
Just when the water is about to reach
boiling point, the frog is not able to
adjust anymore…
At that point the frog decides to jump
out…

The frog tries to jump but is unable to
do so, because it lost all its strength in
adjusting with the water temperature…
Very soon the frog dies. What killed the
frog?

Many of us would say the boiling
water…

But the truth is what killed the frog was
its own inability to decide when it had
to jump out…

We all need to adjust with people and
situations, but we need to be sure when
we need to adjust and when we need to
confront / face..

There are times when we need to face
the situation and take the appropriate
action…
If we allow people to exploit us
physically, mentally, emotionally or
financially, they will continue to do so…
We have to decide when to jump…Let us
jump while we still have the strength !!
Think on It !!

Students stage naked march to protest against government corruption

Students stage naked march to protest against government corruption

Students in Philippines have staged a naked walk to protest against government corruption. Around 90 students took part in the annual event running through the campus naked. Organised by the Alpho Phi Omega fraternity, the event sees current students as well as Alumni take part. Some wore masks to protect what remained of their dignity while some couldn't care less.

Ed Lucero, an alumni organiser of the alpha Phi Omega Fraternity at the University of the Philippines Manila explained their aim.

He said: "Our theme is 'Unveiling the road' because the government needs to be naked, to be transparent with their work," he said. "It means we should strive very hard to strip them bare, not a fake road where only a few can benefit."

The alumni said the tradition started in the late 1970s, when members of the fraternity ran naked on the campus grounds to protest against former President Ferdinand Marcos' censorship of a film criticizing his administration.

Blame naira fall and bad economy on the last administration- Lai Mohammed

Blame naira fall and bad economy on the last administration- Lai Mohammed

Minister of Information Lai Mohammed has asked Nigerians to blame the last administration for the continued fall of the Naira and the current state of the economy. Lai Mohammed stated this in statement he released yeterday December 13th. According to him, some members of the former ruling party turned the CBN into their ATM or piggy banks. He said if the party had won the Presidential election, Nigerians economy would not have survived one more month ...

“Some people still have the temerity to insult a government that is working hard to turn things around for the citizens, who are bearing the brunt of such mismanagement. It is now clear to all Nigerians that if the PDP had won the last general elections, Nigeria’s economy would not have survived one more month, considering the battering it received under the immediate past Administration. It is therefore unconscionable that those who should show contrition and humility to avoid public disgrace are the same ones pointing accusing fingers at the Buhari Administration.”he said

Lai Mohammed described the comments credited to the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu which stated that ‘businesses may collapse in the next six months because the Buhari Administration has mismanaged the economy’ as the clearest indication that the PDP and its leaders are still in denial of the massive destruction they inflicted on the Nigerian economy. According to him, Ike Ekweremadu (Senator) complained about the depreciation of the naira without telling Nigerians, who ‘dollarized’ the Nigerian economy by bribing many individuals and groups with dollars during the last elections, thereby causing a downward drift on the local currency.

Lai added that the Senate deputy President failed to tell Nigerians which government presided over the frenzied mop-up of dollars, either for ‘arms – gate’ or for slush fund purposes from the CBN to a point where it almost ran out of the hard currency.

He said that though the Buhari Administration met an economy that was in coma, it has refused to use that as an excuse for inaction, hence has been working hard on measures that will turn the economy around and greatly offer relief to Nigerians by lifting millions, not thousands of people out of poverty through a massive social intervention policy.

He further noted that the outcome of the months of hard work will manifest soon in the 2016 national budget that will give succor to millions of Nigerians, who are reeling from the fallout of the mistake of the immediate past Administration which has turned the country into a cash market.

He advised the leaders of PDP and members of the immediate past Administration, who are involved in the emerging cases of looting spree to urgently return to government coffers, the funds they have taken from the treasury.

”They are lucky that Nigerians are not as reckless as they are, otherwise they would not be able to walk around freely; not even to have the confidence challenge the Government which inherited their rot or the citizens suffering the consequences. They looted the billions of naira that were allocated for the fight against insurgency, causing many innocent and patriotic soldiers to die needlessly. Yet, they are not remorseful. They looted the treasury to influence the last elections, doling out money as if it was going out of fashion, yet they have continued in brag. In the latest revelation, a Minister under the immediate past dispensation admitted to sharing 600 million naira to six Chairmen of the Contact and Mobilization Committee of the PDP for the last general elections, 300 million naira to an account given by a former PDP Chairman, 200 million naira to a PDP governorship candidate and 100 million naira to a former PDP Governor. This is just one case out of many, yet these revelations are but a tip of the iceberg of what Nigerians will hear in the days ahead.”he added

Serena Williams is Sports Illustrated's 2015 Sportsperson of the year

The Tennis ace, 34, has been named Sports Illustrated Sports Person of the Year 2015...

She's won 21 Grand Slam titles as well as 53 of her 56 matches this season, and she was ranked No. 1 in women's tennis every week for the second consecutive year. And she's just one Grand Slam short of matching Steffi Graf's record of 22 singles titles.

This will be the first time a single woman has been honored on the magazine's cover since track and field athlete Mary Decker named in 1983. Williams is also the first active tennis player to be named since Chris Evert earned the title in 1976
