MMM Saga: Young Man Drinks "Poison" After Investing His Wedding Money

MMM Saga: Young Man Drinks "Poison" After Investing His Wedding Money

This MMM thing is going to expose the level of poverty in Nigeria today. Many people are in some sort of financial mess, such that they can hardly survive without these schemes.

A soon-to-wed man identified as Adakole is currently between life and death after allegedly taking insecticide following the alleged crash of Ponzi scheme, MMM, today.

The incident happened in Otukpo, Benue State, after promoters and participants were thrown into confusion on Tuesday as the scheme said they are suspending operation.

Adakole, a native of Okpe in Okpokwu area of Benue State whose wedding is slated for December 28 had invested 300 thousand into the scheme last month and was expecting to get some interest to help finance his wedding.

An eyewitness told Daily Post that when the news broke out Tuesday morning, Adakole, who was introduced into the scheme by someone literally went mad.

“Kole is my childhood friend, we all grew up in Ugbokolo but when he traveled to Abuja to meet with the pastor of his fiancée, he said someone introduced him into the MMM thing but I and his babe warned him but he told us the scheme was not a scam.

“This early morning, he called me to check the internet if the story of the alleged crashed of the scheme was true, I told him so I heard and he screamed and hung up.

“When I heard him, I knew it was no longer funny, so I had to rush to his house around Sabon Gari to discover that he had taken Raid insecticide. I had to call the fiancée to inform her.

“I had to take him to the clinic where he is currently battling for his life. The babe is already on her way from Abuja,” he added.

Nigerian Scientists Find Cure for HIV/AIDS

Nigerian Scientists Find Cure for HIV/AIDS

As the world waits with bated breath for the outcome of the on-going clinical trial of HIV vaccine in South Africa, scientists in Nigeria appear to have hit the bull's eye in the search for the effective medical cure for HIV/AIDS.

A research team at the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), Abia State led by Prof Maduike Ezeibe has been able to prove that Medicinal Synthetic Aluminium-magnesium Silicate (MSAMS), which it developed, can cure HIV/AIDS.

The result of the clinical trial of the anti-retroviral efficacy of MSAMS in male and female HIV/AIDS patients was published in the British Journal of Medicine & Medical Research 18 (11):1-7, 2016; Article no BJMMR.29018.

It was also among the papers presented last Wednesday at the World Virology Conference 2016 held at Texas, U.S. Though Prof. Ezeibe could not attend the conference because of his inability to raise money for his flight tickets, the organisers insisted that he sent a video presentation, which was played and applauded at the conference.

Speaking with journalists at the weekend on the lukewarm attitude of Nigeria’s health authorities to his medical breakthrough, the professor of Veterinary Medicine said that since 2014 when he was issued with the national patent right (Ref. No. NG/P/2012/639, 2014) no further step had been taken to commercialise it or get the international patent right by Nigeria.

We Africans lack confidence in ourselves,” he lamented, adding that the medicine that he had discovered to have anti-retroviral properties is an old medicine which had been in use.

“The only science we did is that we discovered that it has charges – negative and positive and since HIV has positive charges, the MSAMS use its negative charges to attract and destroy HIV,” he said.

He said that HIV/AIDS had remained incurable because of the small size of the virus and immune deficiency it causes hence any anti-retroviral medicine that could effectively tackle the problem must be smaller (nano-particles).

According to him, particles of HIV could be as small as 110nm which was why they easily crossed physiological barriers to ‘hide’ in cells of the brain, bone marrow and testes, which existing antiretroviral medicines with bigger molecules could not reach.

Prof. Ezeibe explained: “HIV destroys lymphocytes (immune cells that clear infections from organs that are inaccessible to medicines. So, nothing was known that could terminate its infections (and) for that the infection was said to be in ‘sanctuary’.”

The professor reasoned that since Aluminum-magnesium Silicate (AMS) molecular platelets (nanoparticles) are smaller (0.96nm) than HIV, the nanoparticles cross physiological barriers to act on all body cells.

We are using medicine that is so small that wherever HIV goes it can get there, catch it and destroy it,” he assured.

The efficacy of Ezeibe’s synthetic medicine is already generating interest among medical doctors and those that were involved in the clinical trial have already joined his research team after using the drug to treat their patients with astonishing results.

It is now expected that the university authorities in Nigeria would take up the advocacy to recognise and commercialise this important breakthrough in medical science by a Nigerian.

If MMM collapses, Nigerians will suffer, says Founder, Mavrodi

If MMM collapses, Nigerians will suffer, says Founder, Mavrodi

MMM Founder, Sergey Mavrodi has said the scheme has done a lot to improve the welfare of Nigerians and reduce poverty despite the fear expressed by the federal government that it is a ponzi scheme.

In an open letter, MMM founder urged the government to look at the benefits of the scheme to over three million Nigerians in one year of its existence in the country, especially, where the scheme is the only source of livelihood for some Nigerians.

The letter was displayed on the page of MMM participants, NAN reported.

The open letter read, ” So far MMM has come under a constant attack from you. In this regard, I would like to ask you a few simple questions. Since you are concerned with the interests of millions of your fellow citizens, I hope that  you would be so kind to answer them.”“What are you trying to get? Do you want the MMM System to collapse and millions of people to suffer? Who will support them then if MMM is their only means of livelihood? Will you? You even don’t pay wages to people? Or might you not care about them? Might you be using a trendy topic to make a good name for yourselves? What will you say to a mother who will have no money to buy food for her child? Will you let her child die for the sake of the higher interests of the economy?

“You say that MMM is a scam. What is the scam here, if all members are warned in advance about all the risks, the possible and impossible ones? They know there are no investments at all. The warning is a red text on a yellow background placed on most prominent place of the website.

“You say that MMM is bad. Why? Yes, it produces nothing, but nothing gets out of the country either. The money is just redistributed among the citizens of Nigeria. It gets from those who are richer to poorer ones, in this way restoring social justice. What”s wrong with that?

“You have repeatedly stated that “it should be investigated!.. researched!..” It means you know nothing about this System yet; you even haven’t understood how it works………

“And finally. If you know what is right for people, why is the life so bad in the country?”

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had warned against participation in the scheme while as the House of Representatives ordered a probe into its activities in the country.

The tragic road accident at Karai on the Nairobi-Nakuru highway involving more than 12 vehicles claimed nearly 40 lives. The truck driver lost control of the vehicle after hitting a bump, crashed into vehicles heading to Nairobi.

Ronaldo Wins 2016 Ballon d’Or

Ronaldo Wins 2016 Ballon d’Or

Portugal and Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has won the prestigious Ballon d'Or award as the best player in Europe for a fourth time, to cap an impressive 2016 for his club and country.

The Portuguese forward beat out the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Luis Suarez, rival Lionel Messi, to take home France Football magazine’s coveted award.

Ronaldo, who is one short of Messi’s record of 5 Ballon d’Or, was the overwhelming favourite after a stellar 12 months in which he won Euro 2016, the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup.

He led Real Madrid to the 2016 Champions League title and captained Portugal to the 2016 European Championship title in July.

I guess it's really a deserved one.  Hope we have a new name in the next award cause we seem to be tired of the names Christiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi

President Buhari to fly to Gambia to persuade Pres Jammeh to handover power

President Buhari to fly to Gambia to persuade Pres Jammeh to handover power

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Tuesday, December 13th fly off to Gambia in a bid to seek an end to the political lock-jam in the West African country, caused by a "stubborn" ruler.

President Buhari will be joined by other West African leaders in Gambia, in the move for peace.

Following an authoritarian ruler, Yahya Jammeh's refusal to accept defeat to the President-elect. Mr. Adama Barrow at the Just concluded elections, many world leaders are worried.

Many have wondered why President Jammeh is trying to play pranks after over 22 years in power. Cause what seems worrisome is him denying he conceded defeat. Hope Presidents Buhari will succeed in convincing him.

Good night for now

RIP! Legendary Super Eagles player Dejo Fayemi dies at 83

According to the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), former IICC Shooting Stars and Red Devils (now Super Eagles) striker, Dejo Fayemi is dead. He died on Friday morning at his residence situated at Odo-Ona Elewe, Ibadan, at the age of 83.

In 1961, Fayemi wrecked the Independence celebration for Sierra Leone with his goal in a match to mark the country’s attainment of a republic.

When it rains the Whites think of farming, Blacks think of s*x – Donald Trump

When it rains the Whites think of farming, Blacks think of s*x – Donald Trump

Hahaha....and funny enough, Donald Trump is right again. Come to social media, especially Twitter anytime it's raining in Lagos and all you'll be seeing on the timeline is 'weather for 2, weather for 2', even by people who are not married. Nawa!

The Billionaire and US President-elect used some harsh words to described the blacks:

“African Americans are very lazy. The best they can do is gallivanting around ghettoes, lamenting how they are discriminated. These are the people America doesn’t need. They are the enemies of progress.

In general, when it rains white people think of farming and black people just want s*x.

Look at African countries like Kenya for instance, those people are stealing from their own government and go to invest the money in foreign countries. From the government to opposition, they only qualify to be used as a case study whenever bad examples are required.

How do you trust even those who have ran away to hide here at the United States, hiding behind education?

I hear they abuse me in their blogs but I don’t care because even the internet they are using is ours and we can decide to switch it off from this side. These (Africans) are people who import everything including matchsticks.

In my opinion, most of these African countries ought to be recolonized again for another 100 years because they know nothing about leadership and self governance.”

Chai!! This man really 'finishing' Africans!

Stampede at T.B Joshua's church leaves thrwe people dead.  What's really going on in this Man's life?

Three people died in a stampede at Prophet T.B Joshua's Synagogue Church of All Nations church in Ikotun, Lagos state on Saturday December 10th. According to reports, the stampede happened during the church's healing service when many of the worshipers thronged to meet with the Prophet.

Three of them collapsed as they made their way through the crowd to see the prophet. They were confirmed dead at the Isolo General Hospital where they were rushed to. This is more than what the ear could fathom but the problem is that many will read it to different diversions but for me,  the man needs to be questioned

A lot of Nigerians reacted to the tweet with mixed feelings. Read some of the reactions below:

Wondering if there were social media during the era of Jesus Christ and his ancestors,  maybe we will not be blaming these morons flying around calling themselves pastors, evangelist and so on,  but they ought not to forget that one day they will give up the ghost and when they do,  I hope their wealth will follow them there.
