Wife of Air Force Chief, Amosu, Finally Returns Stolen N381m
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has recovered N381m from Mrs. Omolara Amosu, the wife of the immediate past Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu, who is in detention.
EFCC sources said that the money was recovered in three tranches: N180m, N101m and N100m.
A detective in the anti-graft agency told PUNCH that the money was traced from the account of the Nigeria Air Force to the bank accounts of a company in which Amosu’s wife is a director.
He added that Amosu’s wife is a signatory to the accounts.
He said, “We recovered N381m from Amosu’s wife, Omolara. Initially, we recovered N180m from her account before another N101m and then N100m. These were monies transferred from Air Force accounts.”
Explaining how the money was diverted, the detective added, “They (Air Force officers) sent the money to an account where their wives have interests or are signatories without doing anything.”
A second source within the EFCC said more properties belonging to the immediate past Chief of Accounts and Budgeting of NAF, Air Vice Marshal J.B. Adigun, had been seized.
The detective said a property, a quarry located in Ogun State, had equipment worth about $600,000.
Houses worth over N2bn in Ikoyi and Victoria Island allegedly belonging to Adigun had been seized.
The source said, “Adigun is still here with us. We recovered a quarry which he owns. In the quarry there were pieces of equipment worth about $600,000. They have all been impounded and investigations are ongoing.”
“A parcel of land, located on Bourdillon Drive, Ikoyi, worth N908m, belonging to Adigun has also been seized by the EFCC operatives.”
“A house located on Adeyemo Alakija Street, GRA Ikeja, near the Ghanaian High Commission, which belongs to Amosu has also been sealed. It is worth over N200m.”

Justice must be granted!! Woman Cries Out: How Lagos Hospital Killed My Only Son
A mother whose only son died after treatment in a Lagos hospital tells her heartbreaking story:
Mrs. Lillian Essien is a distraught woman. Her anguish was palpable as she spoke amidst tears. She just lost her only son — two-year-old Shawn.
Essien’s story is telling. Prior to her son’s birth, she had suffered a “terrible miscarriage” and was trying to recover when she got pregnant again. According to her, Shawn’s birth brought her joy, adding that the boy was a constant excitement to her while he lived.
She spoke in a disconsolate voice; weak, resigned and quiet...
Her words were filled with anguish and cry for justice as she narrated how her son died due to "negligence" of a Lagos private hospital, De Vitals Cares Hospital, Ilogbo in Ojo Local Government Area.
Essien said she wanted the private hospital to be brought to book for the untimely death of Shawn. According to her, the hospital did not give her son the appropriate treatment.
She told PUNCH's Bayo Akinloye what happened on the day she took her only son to De Vitals.
“On December 9, 2015, I took my two-year-five-month-old son to De Vitals Cares Hospital at Babalola Bus Stop in Ilogbo for treatment. My child had been restless all night and had woken up weak and with yellowish eyes. We hurriedly left the house very early in the morning and got to the hospital a few minutes past 7am. They inserted a cannula (into his body), took his blood and put him on intravenous fluid immediately (after) his blood had been taken.
“I asked the medical doctor attending to him why the IV was given and what drugs were being injected into the IV, since the results of the tests weren’t out yet. And my son wasn’t passing out stool or vomiting. He murmured ‘B-complex’ and walked away. About an hour later, the doctor walked back into the room and I asked him if the test results were out and what the results of the tests were, he said he would be back and walked out again. He kept coming in and out of the room without telling me what the results were.
“This got me very worried. I started to feel something was horribly wrong with my son and that was why he didn’t want to tell me what the results were. The next time he came into the room I told him I wanted to know what the test results were and he said it was acute malaria and his PCV (packed cell volume) was 18 per cent and that he might need a blood transfusion,” Essien said.
Another IV, a saline solution, she noted was given to her son, with the hospital medical staff saying it will “wash away the yellowness from my son’s eyes.”
But her son’s condition worsened.
“My son became very restless when the second IV fluid got half way and it seemed like he was trying hard to breathe. I asked three nurses that came into the room if they had a nebulizer but they all didn’t seem to know what a nebulizer was. They said I shouldn’t be scared that it’s malaria parasite that made him restless. They kept assuring me that by the next morning, he will be fine,” Shawn’s mother said.
With Shawn’s health not improving, the hospital reportedly gave him a third and a fourth IV. At the third IV, his stomach, arms and feet were double of their sizes, his mother said. Despite the baby’s worsening condition, Essien said the hospital assured her the baby would be fine.
“My son seemed to be finding it so hard to breathe. The doctor came in again and I asked him exactly what all the IV fluids were for; that my child wasn’t passing out any stool neither was he vomiting. I don’t think he needs any more IV fluid. He left the room immediately and less than a minute later a nurse came in and said the doctor asked her to take out the IV.
“At about 10.33pm, the doctor came into the room and I said, ‘Doctor, please help me. My baby isn’t getting any better.’ He replied ‘Madam, pray to God to help you!’ He said he had decided to transfer my son and he wrote a referral letter for me to take my son to another hospital. My son had started gasping and his eyes seemed to have gone right into their sockets and looking even more yellowish,” she added.
By midnight, Essien and Shawn arrived at Isolo General Hospital. The chubby two-year-old was said to have arrived too late as he died about two minutes after he arrived the hospital.
“We got to the Isolo General Hospital, past midnight. The doctor on call seemed shocked after reading the referral letter. I remember him murmuring ‘What kind of stupid doctor administered all this medication to a child!’ He immediately put my son on oxygen and my son passed away in my arms after about two minutes.
Photo of the late kid - Shawn.
Two weeks after Shawn’s death, Essien got a call from one Dr. Vitalis Mezie, the Chief Medical Director of the private hospital that treated her baby.
“I got a call from a certain Dr. Vitalis. He said he was the owner and medical director of the hospital where my son was treated. And that he was calling to apologise for the incompetence of his staff, which led to my son’s demise. He asked if I could send my address, so that he can come and apologise face to face and pay condolence. He came over a few days later with a member of his staff called Jerry.
“According to Dr. Vitalis, on the day I brought my son to his hospital, he had a court case in Ijebu-Ode (in Ogun State) and left a certain doctor in charge. The doctor in charge had to go for Shiloh 2015 (Winners Chapel Church’s convention/crusade), and (that doctor) invited another doctor who is a friend to stand in for him in the hospital.
“Dr. Vitalis went ahead to explain to us (my mother, my husband and I) how a nurse had called him to explain the situation at the hospital and he ordered that my son should be transferred to another hospital, because he didn’t want my son to pass away in his hospital.
He said when he was contacted while away in Ijebu-Ode, he knew his staff had ‘messed’ up, and it was ‘too late.’ He promised that the doctor who treated my son would visit to ‘apologise’ for his mistakes. My husband asked him what the doctor’s name was and he claimed he didn’t know, that when he came back from Ijebu-Ode and heard the entire story of what happened, he ‘beat the hell out’ of the doctor and asked him never to come close to his hospital. He never brought the doctor to apologise,” Shawn’s mother narrated.
But when Punch contacted Dr. Mezie, he denied taking responsibility for the two-year-old’s death.
“I have told her that the medical doctor who attended to her son is not our doctor. He was just on a visit. We are not responsible for the death of her son. It is not negligence of the hospital. You know some of these general hospitals give a bad image of private hospitals; maybe they are having problems with them (private hospitals), I don’t know.
“What happened was that the woman refused blood transfusion when she was told that her son’s PCV level was 18 – that was what my doctor told me when I came back. She said she didn’t want blood transfusion.
“While I was away (in Ijebu-Ode), and was informed that the baby’s condition was not improving I told my staff to discharge the baby immediately. The baby did not die in the hospital; the baby died at the general hospital. Nobody knew what they did in the general hospital with the baby. The medical doctor who treated the son was a visiting doctor. I was not around and my doctor was not around.
“I didn’t go to apologise for any negligence on the part of my hospital. I only went there to sympathise with her. Apologise for what? Why should we apologise? The baby died in the general hospital. How can we apologise? What are we apologising for? We did not apologise. In the normal Igbo culture, if someone dies, you go and visit; and he was our patient. We referred him (to another hospital) and a patient died and we are there to find out what happened,” De Vitals’ medical director said.
Essien, however, refuted Dr. Mezie’s claim that she did not allow the hospital to give her son blood transfusion, saying that she is not a Jehovah’s Witness who will refuse blood transfusion on religious grounds.
“The doctor that attended to my son mentioned once that my son might need blood transfusion and never again in the 16 hours I spent in that hospital was the issue of my baby needing blood mentioned. Never! I have had two cesarean sections. In both major operations, two pints of blood were demanded by the hospital I used; my husband provided the blood, which I didn’t use at the end of the day.
“I am knowledgeable about these things and if I can get blood for myself why would I refuse blood for my son? Why didn’t they refer me to another clinic immediately since they claimed I refused that my son should be transfused? Why did they keep us there for a whole 16 hours and kept pumping his tiny body with IV fluids?” she said.
Dr. Mezie also denied any attempt to shield the identity of the doctor who treated Shawn.
“I am not hiding the identity of the medical doctor. I will give you the number of my doctor who brought him,” he promised.
He had not done so until this report was filed. Repeated phone calls and text messages to the medical director did not yield any fruit.
The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria has however expressed its interest in the case.
In an email sent to her following Essien’s complaint about how her son was treated at De Vitalis, the MDCN said it was ready to investigate the allegations against Dr. Mezie and his hospital staff.
“We’re in receipt of your email complaining about the negligence of one Dr. Vitalis. Matters like the one you complained about are dealt with by the Medical and Dental Practitioners’ Investigation Panel. By the rules of the panel, you are required to reduce your complaint to the form of an affidavit deposed to before a Commissioner of Oath or Notary Public. The affidavit should reach us as soon as possible to enable us ignite the process as prescribed by law,” it said.
When contacted the Secretary of the MDPIP, Dr. Emejo Abdul, told PUNCH that, “We don’t discuss matters under investigation in the public.”
Essien said she was determined to get justice for her son. “I am going to petition the Nigeria Police Force. This man (Dr. Mezie) and his hospital must be investigated. I will like the medical association to please investigate this man and his hospital, to prevent more lives being lost either to carelessness or negligence and to avoid a situation whereby any human being will pass through the emotional pain and trauma I am currently going through due to the death of my only son,” she cried.

Man burns teenage pregnant girlfriend alive because he didn't want to be a father
A man burned alive his heavily pregnant teenage lover because he didn’t want to be a father.
Eren Toben, the father-to-be, and his friend lured Maria Peiner, 19, into a wood on the outskirts of Berlin to kill her.
Once in the woods he hit her with a piece of wood, stabbed her with a bread knife and then poured petrol over her and set her alight.
The judge said: “She was still conscious, it could have been 10, 20, 30 seconds - she was still moving.”
The body was found by a walker the next day and the pair responsible for her death were soon in custody and blaming each other.
But Toben's fingerprints were on the handle of the knife found near her charred remains. Both remained silent during the trial.
Of his accomplice the judge said:
"He acted for the sole purpose of taking pleasure in the destruction of another human being’s life.”
Eren Toben Speaking after the trial, Maria’s brother said:
“I hope that our family can finally have some peace.”
In Germany the killer and his accomplice friend were each jailed for 14 years for the horrific crime.
Jud Regina Alex said of Toben, who hatched the plot:
“For him the crime was a solution, he wanted a free, happy life which he had control over. "He abused Maria’s love for him to lure her into an ambush."
Maria was eight months pregnant and looking forward to becoming a mother, the court heard.
But in January last year Toben, together with his old schoolpal Daniel Mueller, 20, lied to her that they were going to go shopping for baby clothes and killed her in the woods.

Bukky Wright's son grants his first media interview
Up and coming artiste, Ojay Wright, is the son of popular Nigerian actress, Bukky Wright. In this interview with Saturday Beats, the young lad talks about his career, love life and relationship with his famous mother
How would you describe your genre of music?
I don’t really have a specific genre of music but if I am to classify my kind of sound, I would call it afro-pop which is more or less the new school sound that we have today.
What does your new song, Kritical265, mean?
To be honest, the number, 265, has nothing to do with the title of the song. It so happens that when the person that produced the song wanted to save it on his system, he just included the number 265 after Kritical and I liked how it looked, so I decided to title the song, Kritical 265, just the way it was saved on the producer’s system.
You started out as an R‘n’B singer, why did you switch to singing high tempo commercial songs?
It is true but these days, everybody is saying that it is the ‘streets’ that fetch the money; so we had to do a club song for the street. That is what the public wants. I can make such songs but it is just not my style. I am someone who loves to get out of my comfort zone and that is why I made a song that people can dance to. However, when it comes to making music, you have to be able to diversify. I remember about 10 years ago when it was mostly foreign songs that were played on the radio and in clubs. But today, things have changed. Nigerians now demand for songs that they can relate to. Nobody wants foreign music anymore. The market basically pressured me into delivering a ‘club’ song to Nigerians.
So what is happening to your career as an R‘n’B singer?
I already have some songs in that genre but everything is a process and everything takes time. For instance, my next song is very different fromKritical265. It tilts towards R‘n’B.
Why do you sound like Davido?
Personally, if you ask me, a lot of songs produced in Nigeria are all similar and they sound alike. Everybody is trying to make the same up tempo beat with the same type of ‘street’ lyrics. If you listen to some of the songs being produced today, you will notice that some of the lyrics are being recycled. So, if they say I sound like Davido, I am not bothered. Inasmuch as we are all making the same type of music and everybody is using the same type of beat, I think in some months’ time, we would be able to differentiate my sound from other artistes’. I am working very hard to stay in this industry and as the son of Bukky Wright; I can confidently say that I am here to change the game.
What school did you attend?
I went to Rutgers University, New Jersey, America, and I studied Biological Sciences and I graduated in 2014.
You keep mentioning your mother’s name in your music, how about your father?
My father is very supportive of my career. Initially, he did not know what I was doing till he read it in the papers. He called me shortly to ask what I was doing and said that he heard that I was screaming my mother’s name in my songs. At first, he was not supportive because he was offended that I did not inform him before I decided to make music a career. But he is fully in support of my career now. Also, we had some personal issues we were sorting out at the time and because of that I didn’t want to involve him initially. But right now, he is trying to help the brand grow. I don’t think he is really bothered about the fact that I call my mother’s name in my songs. The reality is that she is my mother and he should be happy for me.
But normally children of the rich and famous hardly leverage on their parents’ name in this industry…
I am deliberately leveraging on my mother’s name. Initially I did not want to but things are getting really tough in the music industry especially since the new guys like Wizkid and Davido came into the picture. It is really tough for you to ‘blow’ nowadays. When I started out, I avoided using my mother’s name and I did not want to have anything to do with her when it came to my music. But when I came into the country last year, I had several meetings with public relations executives and we realised that the best thing to do is to use what you have to get what you want. When everybody finally pays attention to me, I can show my fans the reason I am into music. I am not really bothered that I leverage on my mother’s name because I tried things the other way and it did not get me anywhere.
You are signed on to your mother’s record label and you are also fond of mentioning her name in your songs. Don’t you think people would see you as a ‘mummy’s boy’?
To be honest, I don’t care. I really don’t care if people see me as ‘mummy’s boy’ because I want to make music and I think people should pay more attention to my music rather than my relationship with my mother.
But if you are perceived as a ‘mummy’s boy’ and you sing songs for the ‘streets’, don’t you think there would be a conflict of character when your fans think about your brand?
Don’t get me wrong, I am not a street boy but I am making a record for the street. These are two different things. If you want to perceive me as a street guy, that would be a wrong notion; but if you perceive me as a ‘mummy’s boy’ making music for the street, then that is a much better description. I am not a street guy so people should not get things confused.
If you were not a musician, what would you have become in life?
If I was not singing I would have been in medical school right now. I was supposed to be there in September, 2014 but music brought me back home and we made a collective decision that it is time to focus on the music. I have two degrees now and I am not rushing to get another one because I am still very young. I am just 22 years old. However, you never know what the future holds.
Have you cancelled your dreams of becoming a doctor?
No, I have not. That is why I said that you never know what the future holds but for now, my focus is on the music.
Are you in a relationship?
No I am single. I have female friends but none of them is my girlfriend.
If you are given a chance to date a Nigerian celebrity, who would it be?
Nobody, I am not attracted to anyone of them.
When it comes to women, what is your ‘spec’?
I like ‘thick women’ with big butt. I would say that Yemi Alade is alright.
Have you ever had sex?
Yes, I have.
Kind hearted Nigerian help 10 students pay their school fees
.
Last week, Akin Fadeyi, met some students loitering around a "buka" where himself and his friend had gone to eat. They're sent out of school due to their inability to pay their N2, 350 school fees. In the end, he got them back to school by helping them pay the fees.
.
.
Fadeyi said he was heartbroken when the school's principal told him: "Do you know these students are househelps to some very big people in this Abuja? They will send their own children to good private schools home and abroad but keep their house helps here with us and still refuse to pay their little school fees."
.
.
Yesterday, in a Facebook post, he gave an update. He wrote: "Last week I posted a picture and story on how I had to intervene in the payment of the school fees of 10 secondary school students of GSS, Mabuchi in Abuja who were sent home for not been able to pay a fee we could ordinarily eat SUYA with, or "hangout" with. .
.
Naturally, I do many things that I don't post, because giving to the poor should be routine. Not that I'm rich but because if you're able to feed yourself, you must share with others who can't. If you're able to pay your child's school fees, you must consistently look out for some children whose fees haven't been paid owing to social economic inequalities. .
.
I posted that gesture to drive home the point that there's a compelling imperative out there to touch lives. Same way we should not haggle or quibble with a pepper and tomato seller until she sells to us at a price without profit for her. We'll smile away but she'll SIGH in pain!
.
.
I want to say a BIG thank you to a very spirited Nigerian in the diaspora, Tope Ayedun who read my post and has offered to pick 2 more from the school and pay their school fees till they become secondary school graduands. Gàníyù Olówu and I went back there yesterday to break this news and the Principal was excited and almost got emotional.
.
.
The two lucky students in are RAMATU ALIYU and ABEL AUTA. And wait for this...yesterday, ABEL AUTA soberly renounced cult involvements which he was inexcusably pushed into out of frustration and quest for delirious escapism."
This pregnant 15 year old claims Jesus is the father of her baby
A 15-year-old Latifah Smith-Nabengana from Ohio,USA claims Jesus impregnated her through the spirit. She said the visitation came in July 2015.According to World News Daily report, she said
“He told me that he was a Nephilim, like those described in the Bible,He told that he had a message from Jesus, He said that I was going to be pregnant, and that I would give birth to a son, Jesus’ son.”
The teenager’s claim has surprised everyone in her family when she announced it to them. Being very religious themselves, they rapidly accepted her claim and showed flawless support for the 15-year old.
The medical doctor who has been following her pregnancy, Dr. William Franklin Murphy, says he is aware of his patient’s version, but is unable to either confirm or invalidate her claims.
“For all I know, her pregnancy seems normal,” “Her claims of “Virgin pregnancy” are technically true, but that doesn’t mean there was a divine intervention. I can tell you that it’s a boy, but there no way for me to determine if it is Jesus’ son until he is born. If she asks for a DNA test at that time, then we can tell you who the father is.”
The teenager’s claim has stirred quite a controversy that has reached far beyond her religious community.
While most people have shown their support to Ms. Smith-Nabengana, others have launched various accusations on the social media, ranging from fabricating the whole story to sleeping with a demonic creature known as an incubus.
Latifah Smith-Nabengana says she wants to demand a paternity test as soon as her son is born, to prove that she is telling the truth. In the meantime, her story will continue to generate a lot debate and stir a lot of emotions across the United States.

First U. S. p*nis transplant set to happen at Johns Hopkins Hospital
Johns Hopkins Hospital, which is best known for its innovative surgery, such as implanting the first defibrillator in a human heart or being the first to separate twins who were joined at the head, will take on its most notable surgery yet. This year, the hospital will perform the first U.S. penis transplant on a former U.S. soldier who was wounded in the Afghanistan war.
Dr. Richard Redett, a plastic surgeon at Johns Hopkins, will perform the ground-breaking surgery. Redett plans to use a donated organ from a recently deceased man that will match the former soldier's age and skin tone.
During surgery, Redett will join the nerves and blood vessel with the hopes of providing a fully functional organ, allowing for urination, sensation and sex.
According to Reuters, doctors and advocates alike have said this type of injury can cause emotional trauma, affecting a soldier's sense of manhood, especially in those who plan on becoming a father.
"When you meet these guys and you realize what they've given for the country, it makes a lot of sense," Redett told Reuters.
The surgery will take place in the next couple of weeks and will not involve the testicles, giving the veteran an opportunity to father a child.
So far, there have been two penis transplants in the world. The initial transplant took place in China in 2006, but was unsuccessful. The first successful penis transplant happened in South Africa in 2014.

Olajumoke Orisaguna: The Nigerian Cinderella By Reuben Abati
About three weeks ago, 27-year old Olajumoke Orisaguna was a complete unknown on the streets of Lagos, hawking bread. A loaf of bread is about N100, and even with a full tray such as she carried in her first public embrace of fame, her whole ware for a day may not be more than N3,000, with daily profit between N300-N700.
She had trained as a hair stylist, got married but had to leave her husband and a daughter back home in Ire, Osun state, to “hustle” as it were in Lagos. The life of a bread seller in Lagos is easily imaginable: exposure to the elements, to sundry abuse, including the possibility of being raped by unruly artisans and bachelors, who will offer to buy bread and something else along with it, if the hawker is willing. This was Olajumoke Orisaguna’s reality until she ran into TY Bello and Tinie Tempah and her life changed. Today, she has been enrolled as a model. Her story has appeared in all newspapers, on CNN, Huffington Post, and virtually everywhere online.
Two companies: StanbicIBTC and PayPorte have made her their brand ambassador. The former even awarded her two daughters scholarships up to university level. Her face has appeared on the cover of magazines. She is now a student at Poise Finishing School, an intern with two beauty salons, and a motivational speaker, even if she reportedly can’t speak English. When she went to the office of the National Identity Management Commission to get an identity card, NIMC also cashed in on her new found fame to use her to promote the agency: “Olajumoke knows she needs to NIMC. She walked into a NIMC centre yesterday unsolicited. Olajumoke is smart. Be like her.” This must be the most saccharine endorsement of Olajumoke so far.
To crown it all, a construction company has given her a luxury apartment in Lagos. From hawking bread in Agege, she is now within weeks, the darling of corporate Nigeria, the poster girl for corporate social responsibility, a landlady, and a role model. She had probably never seen the inside of an aircraft, but a few days ago, she was on a flight to Abuja to give a speech!
Mrs Orisaguna is Nigeria’s Cinderella. Hers is a sudden, unplanned, unexpected, unprepared for grass to grace, rags to riches story, a kind of I–just-dey-waka-my-own-jeje-luck-come-jam-me-tale. It doesn’t happen everyday. It is the kind of accident that many Nigerians seek: accidental fame and fortune. It is perhaps the magical, miraculous, I-don’t believe-it-but-it-is-true quality of this story that has captured the public imagination.
Olajumoke was hawking her bread innocently in Sabo, when she stumbled upon a photo session by that gifted mother of twins, artist and photographer, TY Bello, working on a series of shots for the international hip hop star, Tinie Tempah. We have been told that Olajumoke Orisaguna “photobombed” herself into the activity. I guess she just happened to walk by trying to sell bread, and TY Bello who is a spirit in action when she is at work, had a brain wave and took her picture. Enormously creative, T Y Bello thinks on her feet. When she has that her big camera in her hands, she is an agile, inventive artist.
Her camera is a weapon for interpreting space and reality, and for discovering new meanings. It must have occurred to her that asking the international musician to pose with a bread seller would give the picture a much deeper meaning, inherent in the open contrasts and auto-suggestions. It is that split second decision that has turned Jumoke Orisaguna into a superstar. The shot was brilliant, the result was impressive with people asking: “Who is that girl? She will make a good model.” TY Bello took on the challenge, and became Olajumoke Orisaguna’s promoter, mentor, adviser, godmother, and supporter, taking her to new heights within three weeks. Nobody is talking about Tempah, the main subject of the photo shoot; the focus is on the wanderer who walked onto the set, the bread seller who has taken the bread of the show, the waka-pass whobecame the star. I understand Tempah is quite happy; don’t be surprised then if he composes a special song soon, titled “The Bread Seller!” or “Photobombed” or simply “Olajumoke.”
The Olajumoke Orisaguna story is a perfect demonstration of the witchcraft quality of photography and that single shot that has changed a life may well be one of TY Bello’s most remarkable efforts in her chosen genre. But I find around Olajumoke’s sudden transformation from person to brand, too much capitalist hypocrisy and opportunism. The brand is selling like hot cake, but the person needs protection. I feel for her. I fear for her. There is a sense in which she is a potential victim. The brand experts now taking her from place to place probably would not have even patronized her. They don’t eat the kind of bread that she sold.
Many of them don’t even know what part of Lagos is called Sabo. They don’t buy their bread from hawkers; they would rather go to supermarkets or confectionery stores. Before luck smiled on this young lady, many of those now posing for photos with her would never have noticed her presence. There are definitely many of her type, still hawking bread, or some other items, some even sitting in front of the bank, with a baby strapped to the back, but they may never be noticed or helped. The same companies that are using Olajumoke to talk about corporate social responsibility, are actually joking, they know that this is not CSR; it is brand exploitation!
And it may not last. There is nothing in Olajumoke’s background or exposure that has prepared her for the life of glitz being imposed on her. The skills she has acquired as a bread seller and hair stylist may not carry her far in the cruel world of modeling. When this blitz is over, she will need to compete for jobs and attention, if she must remain a model. She will have to learn sooner or later, to survive on her own. She will have to maintain the luxury apartment that she has been given. She has been taught fancy dressing, including the magic of make up and those magical colours that change a dull face into a phallus-teasing one do not come cheap.
She is at best an art work that other people have created: she has been made up into a siren, her hitherto dull skin now glows, in one photo, her hair had a queenly allure, they have given her new clothes, jazzing her up, to look feminine and sensual, and they have taught her how to smile in a tempting manner. Wow. That smile! The sorry part of it all is that her narrative is quite innocent and hauntingly brief, as is the case with all overnight sensations. The capitalist hypocrites will soon find something else to excite them, just as the media will find a new story. It probably would have been much better to help Olajumoke Orisaguna set up a small-scale business, to take her off the street-life of hawking, rather than this world of sharks into which she has been thrown. Perhaps the best that has been done for her is sending her on internship at beauty salons. She could at least set up a beauty salon of her own and live happily thereafter.
In a normal society, no young woman should be on the streets hawking bread in order to survive. In a normal society, Olajumoke Orisaguna would have been given the opportunity to go to school, and have a proper career. She is being given, all within three weeks, the kind of empowerment that society has denied her and many like her, but how about all the other Olajumokes who may never “photobomb” their way to luck? Her new life is a reminder of what she could have been but which she could not become because of the kind of society in which she has found herself. She should never have had to hawk bread to support her husband and children.
Her husband! Yes, Mr. SundayOrisaguna. I have seen him in the photographs, either carrying their baby, or just putting up appearance. He looks lost, confused, overwhelmed, harassed and uncertain. He must be wondering what has happened or is happening to the woman he married. There is a clear difference between Olajumoke, the wife and bread seller, and Olajumoke, the model and celebrity. While Olajumoke is beginning to wear designer clothes, her humble husband is still managing hisone-day-me-too-go-jam-luck attires. His wife has been sent to finishing school. By the time she finishes, I hope her new persona will not finish her marriage.
Olajumoke is now learning to speak English, but her husband is a humble, sliding door installer who probably speaks only Yoruba. In our kind of society, given the social level and cultural background of the parties involved, it won’t be long before the demons will begin to crawl out of the woods, from in-laws who may begin to psycho-analyse Olajumoke, to family members who will scrutinize her every gesture, and friends with whom she hawked bread and has now left behind.
Lack of clarity over role interpretation and the new persona could also confuse the young mother. She needs a different set of skills to manage new relationships, especially the new friends coming her way, including those lecherous uncles who may show up and seek to exploit her innocence. The people turning her into a sex symbol should also tarry a while, and remember that she is a married mother of two. She needs counseling. And her sliding door installer husband, who has featured in her fairytale so far as a hanger-on, no matter what happens, should not be made to slide away. Sunday Orisaguna should also be counseled, given new clothes, taught English and sent to finishing school. He should not be left behind.
Agege bread sellers now dressing well...lol
These are photos of Agege bread sellers hawking their item in Lagos today. Looks like the Olajumoke story had some kind of effect on them. ..you never know when you will come across your own TY Bello...lol..
Seems Peter & Paul Okoye are finally done! See what Peter just posted

A smart Female prisoner on death row gets herself pregnant by fellow inmate to avoid being executed
A female prisoner in Vietnam evaded execution after paying a fellow inmate £1,600 for his semen - which she used to impregnate herself. Death row convict Nguyen Thi Hue, 42, paid the male inmate at the mixed prison to twice leave his sperm in plastic bags at a mutually agreed hiding place in the jail. She collected the bags and used a syringe to impregnate herself, thereby forcing authorities to commute her death sentence to one of life imprisonment.
The 27-year-old male inmate, Nguyen Tuan Hung, allegedly gave her the bags in the Quang Ninh province jail sometime in August 2015. Four guards at the northern Vietnam prison have reportedly suspended for negligence.
Nguyen - described as 'strangely seductive' - was arrested in 2012 for drug trafficking and sentenced to death in 2014. A court rejected her appeal the same year. She is now expected to give birth in about two months. Under Vietnamese law, Nguyen will have her death sentence commuted to life imprisonment for having a child under 3 years of age.
Pastor (Man of the devil ) hacks wife to death in Edo state, leaves a note (photos)
Pastor Henry Ojochunu Ekukpe, alleged stabbed his wife, Patience Ekukpe, 29, in the presence of their 6-month-old baby and escaped, leaving behind a note with 10 questions, apparently meant for his wife to answer.
The incident happened at their house at No. 19 Uloko Street, Okpoghe Quarters, in Eyaen, New Aduwawa, Benin, Edo state.
A manhunt has now been lunched for Henry, a pastor at the Mountain of Victory and Fire Deliverance Ministry aka Power and Prophetic Church. The couple got married in September 2014 but had many issues that made the wife leave their matrimonial home.
It was gathered that Henry invited Patience under the disguise that he wanted to resolve their crisis.
The statement he left behind reads in part:
“Have we ever in life went to beg for food ever since we got married? Has your mother ever brought food for us to eat one day because of hunger? Have I not told you at the beginning that I hate someone insulting me? In the first place, did you really come out with your own full mind? Did you come to marry me because of money or for who I am? Who gave you the order to pack your property away from our home? Who is your adviser in this marriage that is polluting your mind against me? You always pray that God should help you to eat the fruit of your labour? So, no man has the power to take one’s life but today we are going together. So how do you feel now?”
Pregnancy Saga: Cynthia Morgan Pregnant for Jude Okoye?
Information reaching me from the P'Square mansion is pretty sensational and I must warn that you guys should swallow it with caution because one or both parties could have reason(s) to deny.
If you know that Jude Okoye is the owner of Northside Music and Cynthia Morgan is an artiste under him, then you will understand where this saga is coming from. Both of them have worked very closely and those who know tell me that they are "close", even before Jude Okoye got married...
Now that Jude is married with a daughter, the story of their "closeness" has resurfaced, but with a twist. In fact, a source said Peter Okoye is aware that Cynthia Morgan is pregnant for their elder brother and that was the reason he's been trying to make sure Jude is removed from their management before the pregnancy story gets to the press, to avoid any backlash on the P'Square brand.
If the story is true, I think it's not enough reason to ask him to leave the family business. He is man enough and I think he has what it takes to take care of his wife and Cynthia Morgan if they both decide that she should be his second wife or she choose to be just his babymama.
So if its the reason, then there must be a real diplomatic close door meetings within the Okoye
Update on P'Square Fight: Paul rejects Peter, Declares Support for Jude Okoye
All is obviously not well in the P'Square family, but it seems Peter Okoye is on his own this time while his twin brother Paul is on the side of their elder brother, Jude who had advised Peter to seek prayers. Paul Okoye has been quiet all along, observing Peter's posts on the social media.
He finally reacted on Wednesday evening, saying if Peter say he's no longer doing family business then no need for P'Square as he and Peter are family and if they are together then it's still 'family business'.
The saga in the P'Square family is getting interesting. Read Paul's reaction below:
“This is where I belong and this is where I stand……. you do music in the studio, not in social media, you have family issues, you discuss that in closed doors, not in social media ….. Family is family, blood is blood …. If you don’t do family business, then who am I to you?” - Paul Okoye
...family is everything, they are the ones you can truly trust, even if they disappoint you sometimes.
