December 30, 2015
The Director General,National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in PersonsNo. 2028 Delaba StreetWuse Zone 5FCT, Abuja
Dear Madam,
PETITION AGAINST MISS ASHLEY COCO ADELEKE & MR ADEDEJI ADELEKE FOR ATTEMPTED CHILD TRAFFICKING AND ABDUCTION OF MISS AURORA IMADE ADELEKE
We act as Solicitors for Miss. Sophia Ajibola Momodu, (hereinafter referred to as our client) whose instructions we have to forward this petition to your esteemed Agency. Our client, a 27 year old, is the biological mother of a baby girl with name, Aurora Imade Adeleke, who was born on the 14th day of May 2015. The baby’s father is Mr. David Adedeji Adeleke (aka Davido).
The father and mother are unmarried. On the 11th July, 2015, our client was tricked to visit the house of Mr. David Adedeji Adeleke’s half sister – Miss Ashley Coco Adeleke’s with her baby, Imade Aurora Adeleke. After getting to the house on Baderinwa Alabi Street, Lekki Phase I, Lagos, our client’s baby was forcefully taken from her and she was thrown out of the premises with the threat that she would be decisively dealt with if she ever bothered to return there.
There were armed policemen in the premises and our client’s survival instinct prevailed on her to make her leave her breast suckling baby behind, with so much pain in her heart.By daybreak on the next day, our client was again at Ashley Coco Adeleke’s house to take her baby, but she was prevented by armed policemen from gaining access into the house. She was again threatened and warned never to return for the child.
Since July 2015, our client, who has now become so disorientated, saddened and confused has been going to family members, including her cousin, Mr Dele Momodu, and other well meaning Nigerians to intervene and allow her get her baby back or at least allow her to be able to have access to and care for her daughter. This was frustrated by Coco Adeleke, David Adeleke and their father, Mr. Adedeji Adeleke.
These people boasted to our client and all her family and friends that our client is a nonentity and of little substance in Nigeria. They also claim that they have the financial wherewithal and political and security clout to deal with her and her family anyhow and without any consequence with the aid of their brother and uncle, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, and other friends Mr Deji Adeleke purportedly has in government.
In a bid to justify their actions, Mr Deji Adeleke and his daughter, Ashley Coco Adeleke, have been spreading several malicious and unfounded allegations about our client. While the attempts at finding a peaceful and lasting solution were still ongoing, on Tuesday the 29th December 2015, Ashley Coco Adeleke and her father, Mr Deji Adeleke, tried to travel to Dubai with our client’s baby.
The baby was meant to be flown out of the country with Nigerian and American passports. Prior to that date, our client and her cousin, Mr Dele Momodu, had gone to alert the immigration services at the Murtala Mohammed, Ikeja International airport of the likelihood of Ashley Coco Adeleke travelling with our client’s baby by pretending to be the Mother. Our client believes that her baby’s American passport was hidden and is now likely to be in possession of Mr Deji Adeleke or Ashley Coco Adeleke. It appears that the assistance of Emirates Airline was sought as the baby’s American passport was not produced in breach of aviation regulations.
Neither was a letter of authority from the mother to confirm her consent to the trip produced despite the airline being alerted. When Mrs. Modupe Mofikoya, the immigration officer who attended to the Adeleke travelling party accosted Ashley Coco Adeleke and asked for the mother of the baby, Ashley Adeleke claimed that she was the mother. Immediately, the immigration officer on duty collected her Nigerian international passport, she quickly absconded from the scene with the baby and her father, Mr Deji Adeleke, showed up shortly afterwards to try to clear his daughter’s mess.
Our client with the help of her family members, including Mr Dele Momodu, determinedly resisted the attempt by Miss Ashley Coco Adeleke and her father, Mr Deji Adeleke, from taking Aurora Imade Adeleke from Lagos yesterday. Our client believes that the pair are trying to take the child to America and thus put her out of the reach of the biological mother. At the moment, Miss Ashley Coco Adeleke and our client’s daughter, Aurora Imade Adeleke are still in Lagos and two of their respective international passports are in the custody of the airport immigration services.
Our client’s fear now, is that Ashley Coco may use her Nigerian passport and Aurora Imade’s American passport to travel through other Nigerian or West African airports. We know that the actions of Mr Deji Adeleke and Miss Ashley Coco Adeleke contravene many provisions of the law.
One is Section 13 of the Childs Right Law 2007 of Lagos State (as adapted from the Federal Act), which guarantees Aurora Imade Adeleke’s right to parental care and protection. That law also forbids separation of a child from her parents.
Another is Section 24 of the same law, which also prohibits abduction of a child from the lawful custody of her parents. Neither Mr Deji Adeleke or Ms Ashley Coco Adeleke has any lawful right to the custody of Aurora Imade Adeleke. Even the unmarried father, Mr David Adedeji Adeleke, only has limited rights to the child and certainly not to the exclusion of our client, the natural mother as the Adelekes are trying to do.
We are of the sound view that your Agency is the most viable organisation that can intervene in the plight of our client and save her from the untold trauma that she is going through in the hands of Mr Deji Adeleke and Ashley Coco Adeleke, who has her own child that she keeps with her.
We have advised our client about the statutory powers of your Agency to potently investigate and enforce all the provisions of the law that deal with abduction and trafficking in persons. We urge you to use your good offices to intervene in the case of our client and protect a baby who should still be under her mother’s care from being abducted and smuggled abroad. We thank you.
Yours faithfully,
O. AJAYI & CO./Gbolaga Ajayi Esq.

CHIBOK GIRLS
"We want to be sure that the girls are complete, safe and sound before we attempt any form of negotiation on the girls.

People on your party are being shielded from investigation?
"I don't tolerate corruption and I did not pick anyone that will corrupt my government.
"It is the right of Nigerians to take them to court. I have not taken anybody who is facing corruption charges."
19.25
STILL ON CRUDE OIL THEFT
The problem of NNPC is the involvement of international institutions such as shipping lines and financial institutions.
We would ask for the cooperation of other countries to get monies lodged from sales of oil in different accounts and not that of the Federal Government.
ASSET DECLARATION NOT SO PUBLIC AFTER ALL, NOT FULLY MADE.
"I have declared my assets four times in the past. You have the constitutional right to go to the relevant government agency to go and seek for it.
"They were deposited at the Ministry of Justice. If Ministry of Justice cannot produce my asset declaration form, then they too should answer some questions.
"Why me alone, why not others who were governors and Ministers as well. I think I don't have to ask them to give, it is your constitutional role."
19.21
By the end of the first quarter of next year, we will tell Nigerians how far we have gone on the fight against corruption. I swore by the Holy Koran to defend the country's constitution and the law. So, we will not put any body above the law.
19.20
Is there need to rejig the EFCC, ICPC?
Buhari: We have to be very sure of the documents we get and we have to cross check records sometimes across countries and in the EFCC.
Those who were engaged in the theft of oil were people of substance and have the wealth to hire the best of lawyers to defend them.
We need to submit fool-proof documents to succeed in prosecution.
How many people have ICPC prosecuted in the past? That is why we are being thorough now.
By the end of first quarter of next year, we would be in a position to tell Nigerians how far we have gone.
19.18
"We have to be patient and await outcome of courts decision. Government will only react through the Ministry of Justice after the courts have finished with matters before them
"We have documents showing where monies have been lodged."
19.17
"Our constraint is that the accused persons have to defend themselves in court to defend themselves. So, we cannot release their names to the public until the issues are completed in court. Whatever we recover will be presented in court. "The documentation in court include bank statements and documents from Customs Service that are to be presented in court. Until then, we ask Nigerians to have patience."
19.16
Mr. Akintemi fired the first shot. He asked the President how long the honeymoon with Nigerians would last.
He asked: How are we doing with the fight against corruption?
The President responded, saying the country was doing very well considering the circumstances.
"Thirty years ago as Head of State, we collected those we perceived to be corrupt and put them in protective custody, until they prove they were not guilty
"At present, those suspected of being corrupt are innocent until they are proven guilty
"We have documents showing Nigerian crude oil was lifted illegally and proceeds are put into personal accounts instead of Government account.
"We are in court with suspected corrupt persons and we cannot comment until the court are through.
"We can only appeal to Nigerians to be patient."

Governor Ikpeazu of Abia State to Dump TA Orji & Join APC
Abia State governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu is said to have concluded plans to join the ruling APC as soon as petitions challenging his victory as governor, are over and done with in court.
Sources say part of the deal for Ikpeazu to defect to the APC is to wedge his predecessor, Theodore Orji who is now a Senator and his son, Chinedum, who are believed to have sponsored his election and exerts great influence on his administration.
Ikpeazu is also said to be jittery that
some leading members of the PDP with massive followership in the state such as Chief Tony Ukasanya, Dr. Chris Adighije, Senator Nkechi Nwaogu, among several others, have since defected to the APC and vowed to deliver the state to their new party. Besides, some ranking members of the PDP in the state have been severally reported of being unhappy with Ikpeazu’s alleged style of only patronizing his Obingwa kinsmen and have decided to remain in the party to teach him a lesson in 2019.
According to 247ureports, the governor has been meeting with APC chieftains and eminent Nigerians over his decision to dump the PDP on which he was elected to office. It was further gathered that ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo who recently visited Abia state for a burial ceremony at Abiriba from where he stormed Aba to commission some road projects, is also part of the dignitaries Ikpeazu had lobbied to help him ‘soften the ground’ for his entry to the APC.
The report say few weeks after assuming office, Gov. Ikpeazu already has some chieftains of the APC on his payroll including the State chairman of the party, Hon. Donatus Nwankpa who are said to be disposed to having the governor joining the party as soon as possible.
Ikpeazu is said to be optimistic that his deal with the APC would work out smoothly since the state party chairman, Hon. Donatus Nwankpa and the APC governorship candidate, Dr. Nyerere Anyim who is Gov. Rochas Okorocha’s ally, hails from the same Ngwa clan with him.
According to a chieftain of the APC in the state who pleaded anonymity:
“Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu knows he cannot win a second term if he stays in PDP. It is a fact that the APC will take over Abia state in 2019. This is why he is contacting APC chieftains. I assure you that Gov. Ikpeazu would have long defected to the APC, were it not for the election petition case filed by the APGA candidate, Dr. Alex Otti. As soon as the matter is over, Gov. Ikpeazu will join APC. You can take that from me.
“Gov. Ikpeazu has been a friend to the APC in the state. Have you seen where the APC leadership has ever criticized Gov. Ikpeazu or has he not done anything to warrant criticism from us in the opposition? We take him as one of us.”
Governor Ambode’s Convoy Nabs Airforce Cadets Who Lock A Boy In Car Trunk
The convoy of the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode on Wednesday apprehended two Airforce cadets in Mile 12 area of the State while dehumanizing an artisan, Dahiru Lawal for allegedly breaking the windscreen of a Chrysler Stratus car with registration number KRD 267 DV.
The cadets – Peters O. Solomon and Abdullahi Fahad, who claimed to be Airforce personnel attached to the Airforce Base in Ikeja, had forced Lawal in the boot of their car after dragging him on the ground for the said offence.
Governor Ambode, who was returning from an inspection visit to Agbowa in Ikorodu, saw the situation and swiftly intervened to save Lawal who was gasping for breath.
Governor Ambode wondered how such inhuman treatment could be meted to a fellow citizen just for slightly breaking the windscreen of a car.
When questioned by journalists, the cadets admitted putting Lawal in the boot of their car. The claimed that Lawal tried to escape after breaking the windscreen and ran into the nearby market where they eventually chased and apprehended him.
Peters said: “What happened is that the boy broke the windscreen in front of my car. When I stopped, I asked him to come, the boy ran away. We have to drag him back and put him in the boot.”
“I kind of threatened his boss that he is working with and when his boss came and looked at what he did to me, that was when I put him inside the boot for the remaining ones to go and call the boss. Not that I locked the boot, I only put him inside the boot, but I did not lock the boot,” he said.
Also Abdullahi said himself and Peters were along Mile 12 after visiting a friend when they heard a knack on their windscreen and they saw Lawal attempting to escape.
"We now run inside the market and dragged him (Lawal) down. I was even asking who he is working with because I want to see his Oga since I know he cannot repair my damaged windscreen. I want to see the man he is working with so that we can settle everything with him. I now told my colleague that we should hand him over to Airforce police at the Airforce Base,” Abdullahi said.
Lawal gave his own story
Narrating his ordeal in the hands of the cadets, Lawal who hails from Kaduna, said he mistakenly damaged the windscreen with the load he carried, and that he took to his heels because he was afraid of what they might do to him.
He said: “I ran into the market and they pursued me and caught me inside the market. They started beating me and dragged me to their car.”
“I ran because I was afraid of what the cadets might do to me, while my boss and people around begged on my behalf, but their pleas fell on deaf ears.”
“The police also came to plead with them to open the boot but they insisted on taking me away and it was at that point that the convoy of the Governor arrived to rescue me from the boot of the car where they kept me,” Lawal said.
He added that he lost his cell phone and the sum of N5,000 which he was having on him at the point that he was being dragged on the floor.
Governor Ambode has ordered that Airforce Officers be handed over to police for possible prosecution.

Photos: Filipino priest grounded by church for gliding on hoverboard during mass
Lol. Things we see every day. A priest in the Philippines has been suspended by the church after video shared on social media showed him gliding on a hoverboard while preaching during mass.
The video which has racked up millions of views, showed Father Albert San Jose from the Philippines Diocese of San Pablo gliding on a hoverboard during a Christmas Eve mass at the Lady of Miraculous Medal church in Biñan town.
While the parishioners enjoyed seeing their priest having a good time, the stunt did not go down well with the priest’s bishop.
“That was wrong,” the archdiocese said in a statement released on Tuesday. “The Eucharist demands utmost respect and reverence. It is the Memorial of the Lord’s Sacrifice. It is the source and summit of Christian life.”
Father Jose later apologized for the stunt, saying it will never happen again

Petrol to sell for N86 per litre from January,1 2016 – FG
The Federal Government, yesterday, stated that effective January 1, 2016, petrol, would be sold at N86 per litre by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC Retail stations. All other oil marketers would sell at N86.50 per litre. The new stance was made known in Abuja during a news conference by the Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency, PPPRA, Mr. Farouk Ahmed.
He said the revised template, would be reviewed on quarterly basis and which would soon be presented to oil marketers. He said
“Since 2007, while crude oil price had been moving up and down, the template remained the same. This had made it necessary for us to introduce a mechanism whereby the template would be sensitive to the price of crude oil.
“However, the template is not static, as there would be a quarterly review and if there is any major shift, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources would be expected to call for a review, either upward or downward, depending on the market condition.
Ritual killer's den discovered in Lagos after girl escaped with slashed throat (Photo)
Residents of Big Daddy Street in the Atinplome, Bagadry area of Lagos State on Tuesday stormed an uncompleted building in the area, which they suspected to be a ritual killer’s den, after a female victim raised the alarm.
PUNCH Metro learnt that at about 12am, while a carnival went on in the area, a woman in her late 20s, whose name had yet to be known, had run into the party with her throat partly cut, while blood was streaming out of her body.
It was gathered that the girl, who later became unconscious and was rushed to a private hospital in the area, told the partying crowd that an alfa, identified as Mallam Sheu, had tricked her into the uncompleted structure before slitting her throat with a knife.
The matter was said to have been reported at the Morogbo Police Division, and some policemen came to the scene, but the alfa was said to have fled the uncompleted apartment.
It was learnt that in the morning, more residents thronged the area and they were said to have found bloodstains, old clothes, charms and ladies’ clothes inside the structure.
Speaking with PUNCH Metro, a resident who identified herself as Mummy Eso, said youths in the area attempted to burn the den in the afternoon, thinking that the girl had died as a result of her injuries.
Mummy Eso added that the alfa did not stay in the area and nobody suspected that he used the place for evil purpose.
She said, “There was commotion in our area in the midnight when boys holding a street party saw the girl bleeding from the throat. The girl, who just managed to speak, pointed to the structure and said an alfa had attempted to kill her, but she managed to escape.
“One of her hands had also been tampered with. So, the youths became furious and headed for the uncompleted building. Some policemen, who were also on guard duties at the carnival were informed about the incident and they went too. But information had got to the man, and he escaped before they could arrest him.
“Since morning, people have been coming to the area to check the building. They attempted to burn it in the afternoon.”
Another resident, identified as Akeem Ajao, who visited the building, said the youths found old bloodstains, clothes and charms.
He said, “The lady ran into the carnival with blood streaming out of her body. One of those at the carnival saw her and came to her rescue. She said a man was in the house trying to slaughter her.
“We rushed the girl to a hospital, where she is now receiving treatment. We did not know that the alfa used the house to do evil works. The girl’s clothes were bloodstained. The police have also come to the area this morning.
“When I entered the house, I saw bloodstains, charms and a human bone was also in the man’s car – a Gulf 4 vehicle. It was the boys holding the carnival who noticed the girl.
“The girl’s neck was cut. Nobody knows the family of the girl involved. The man has run away from the area.”
Our correspondent gathered that the alfa had been having an affair with the lady, before he took her to the uncompleted building on the evening of the carnival.
The lady was said to have come from the Igando area to Atinplome.
If You've Stolen Nigeria's Money, You Must Pay – AGF Insists
The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), has said there will be no plea bargain for those who have stolen Nigerians money and charged for same.
He also said the federal government had put in place a formidable team of public prosecutors to take on the government’s anti-corruption war at various courts in the country
He said, “We have put in place a national prosecution team that comprises all stakeholders for the purpose of prosecuting the charges presented before the courts.
“The committee will be saddled with the responsibility of preferring the relevant charges and ensuring that charges are preferred in line with the dictates of the law without compromise.”
Malami made the disclosure when the #BringBackOurGirls campaign movement visited him in Abuja.
The group, which had championed the call on the federal goverment to secure the release of over 200 Chibok school girls that were abducted from their school in Borno State in April 2014, was at the minister’s office to engage him on securing the girls’ freedom from captivity.
The AGF restated President Muhammadu Buhari’s commitment to bring all perpetrators of corrupt practices that led to the heightened insurgency to book.
The nation’s chief law officer noted that corruption cases under Goodluck Jonathan administration were deliberately compromised during investigation in order to pave the way for criminal suspects to escape.
Malami assured that steps had been taken to audit such cases with a view to bringing culprits to justice.
Biafra Leader Nnamdi Kanu Finally Begs President Buhari
Leader of the so called Indigenous People of Biafra and founder of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has begged President Muhammadu Buhari for referring to him as a terrorist, evil and a paedophile in his radio.
Kanu, who has been charged along with two others by the Federal Government before a Federal High Court in Abuja on six counts of treason and other ancillary offences, confessed that he now intended to write a private letter to Buhari to express his apology to the President.
He also apologised to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan and Igbo elders for “some uncomplimentary things” he said about them.
The 48-year-old pro-Biafran agitation leader, who is still unapologetic about his demand for a Biafra, has been in the custody of the Department of State Services since his arrest in Lagos on October 14, 2015.
He tendered the apology for his comment against Buhari and others in a statement he made to the DSS.
The prosecution, in its summary of the case, alleged that in one of the radio broadcasts by Kanu on August 1, 2015, he expressed his resolve to actualise the Republic of Biafra and “cast aspersions on the person and the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”.
The statement read in part, “Reference to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as a terrorist, evil and a paedophile is regrettable and uncalled for and for that, I unreservedly apologise and will be doing so in a private letter to the President.
“Before PMB (President Muhammadu Buhari) there was the administration of Goodluck Jonathan. I also said uncomplimentary things about him and Igbo elders as well, which I now recognise should not have happened because it is un-African to be rude or insolent to elders.
“All I was trying to do is to draw attention to the problems afflicting society and something done about them.”
German man dies after blowing up condom machine
The 29-year-old was hit in the head by a steel shard
A German man died on Christmas Day after blowing up a condom dispenser with a homemade bomb in a botched robbery, police say.
The 29-year-old and two accomplices attached the bomb to the vending machine in a quiet street before taking cover in their vehicle.
But the victim did not close the door in time and was struck in the head by a steel shard from the explosion.
His accomplices took him to hospital but he later died of his wounds.
The men told staff at the hospital in the western town of Schoppingen that their unconscious friend had fallen down the stairs.
But one of them later admitted to police that they had blown up the machine.
Police confirmed that none of the money or condoms from the machine had been taken.
The two surviving men were arrested before later being released from custody.
