These 11 photos tell an hilarious Nigerian Valentine story

Found this really funny post on partyjollof.com and decided to share, enjoy!
The 14th of February is a big deal, packed with many stories that run the gamut from proposals to breakups. These photos tell an interesting Valentine story.

1. When it is the 12th of February and your bae hasn’t said anything about your valentine date.

2. When your man tries to pick up a fight with you before Valentine.

You muzzbe joking.

3. Then it’s the 13th and one girl tries to snatch your boo.

Karishika fall and die!

4. When you hear that your age mates are getting all expense paid romantic trips to Paris in this economy.

5. And you have to start explaining to your friends that you and bae are ‘staying low and building.’

Henemies stay in your lane.

6. So you plan a contingency just in case he disappoints.

Trust no one.

7. Valentine morning comes and no ‘I love you bae’ text message yet.

Is he breaking up with me?

8. Then the text comes and it can fill one foolscap sheet.

Oh me Gaaad.

9. And at the end of the message, he says ‘meet me at so-so place.’

Enemies scatter!

10. And bae is acting suspiciously and doesn’t want to remove his hand from his pocket.

Falz/YoutubeCould this be the date with destiny.

11. And then he pulls it out.

Falz/YoutubeBastard baby.
And then you die.

Husband beats up, stabs wife in the face 'for refusing to open the gate''

Husband beats up, stabs wife in the face 'for refusing to open the gate''

A 30-year-old corps member and housewife, Funmilayo (pseudonym) has been battered by her husband, identified only as Bade, who also allegedly poked his finger into her eye during a disagreement at their home in the Surulere area of Lagos State.
Bade was also alleged to have stabbed her in the face with a broken glass and rained blows into her head and face.
She was rushed to a health centre in the area before being taken to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.

Policemen from the Surulere division were said to have arrested and detained Bade, after which he was released on bail.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the drama happened last Monday at the couple’s residence in the Kilo area of Surulere.
Funmilayo, an Insurance graduate, said she had followed her husband to his parent’s house on the day, and they had returned around 8pm.

She said, “Immediately we got home, he said he wanted to go for a meeting somewhere and I told him to return as early as possible before they shut the street gate at 10pm.
“When it was 11pm, I called him, but he didn’t pick his calls. He also did not respond to a Whatsapp message I sent around that time. He later picked his call and I warned him that if he returned too late I would not rise up from bed to open the gate for him.

“Around 1am, I called his telephone line again and I heard a noise at the background. I overheard a lady talking. I told him I was going for my NYSC Community Development Service early in the morning, but he ignored me.”

Funmilayo, who already had two children for Bade, said she returned to bed, but her husband did not return until it was 2am.

“At about 2am, he called me on the telephone and said I should come and open the gate, but I ignored him. When I eventually went downstairs to open the gate, somebody else had done it.
“He abused my mother and I cautioned him, but he said it was my day of reckoning and my cup of iniquity was full. I was in my night gown that time.
“He picked up his belt and started beating me. As I tried to run away from him, I fell down. During the struggle, a mirror fell on the floor and he stabbed me with a splinter. He sat on me. I screamed in pain and shouted for help, but nobody came to my rescue.

“He poked a finger into my eye and gave me several blows in the face,” she said.

Funmilayo explained that she managed to bite Bade’s leg, adding that it was then he let go of her.
She said an in-law rushed her to a medical facility in the area before she was later taken to LASUTH for treatment.

However, PUNCH Metro gathered that after the detention of the suspect, some family members prevailed on the victim to let go of the case “because of the children.”The couple were, however, said to have separated pending when the matter would be fully resolved.
When contacted, Bade denied attacking his wife, adding that she was the first to assault him.

“All she said was a lie. It was my hand that I used to beat her and she was the one that used a plank to hit me in the back and even stabbed me with the broken mirror.
“I have a deep cut in my back and in the front. I slapped her.“She got a swollen face because she is plump,” he said.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, said the police were preparing to take Bade to court when his wife came to withdraw the case.

She said, “A case of assault occasioning harm was reported against the man.
“He was arrested, detained and given bail to a reliable surety and warned to report back the next day during which the charges were ready.
“But the wife (victim) came back and was pleading, along with both families, not to take the case to court on the grounds that he is her husband and the father of her children.

“However, undertaking was written by the husband to be of good behaviour. The case is still on.

Pastor Who Did This GOOD THING Deserves Our Praises

It's not only when a "Pastor" is involved in nefarious activities that it should be reported in the media. When a man of God does that which we all expect him to do, let us also shower him with praises.

The man in the photo above was mentally ill (a mad man). A pastor saw him, took him away from the street, Prayed for him and now he is a New Creature. I say a big thank you to the pastor who did this. God bless him with more grace. Amen!

Pastor Chris Prays for A Dead Baby & She Comes Back to Life

Pastor Chris Prays for A Dead Baby & She Comes Back to Life

Nothing is impossible for God to do! On Sunday, February 7, 2016, a dead child was allegedly raised back to life at the popular Mountain Miracle and Liberation Ministries, aka Liberation City in Lagos.

The occurrence which was like a scene from a movie left everyone in the church stunned. The 6-month old child said to have been ill for weeks was brought to the church by her parents for prayers. Unfortunately, the child gave up the ghost as soon as they arrived the church.

Her frantic parents eventually wept and pushed their way through to the podium where Pastor Chris Okafor, was ministering to other people. He took the child from them and started praying...

Then he dropped the child on the altar and commanded her spirit to come back and, to the surprise of all, the child moved! The congregation exploded in tumultuous praise as the child continued to move.

The child came back to life and even drank some water. Hallelujah...I say to God alone be the glory!

Minister Rotimi Amaechi replies Nyesom Wike over $150m allegations

Minister Rotimi Amaechi replies Nyesom Wike over $150m allegations

Read the press statement below..

Sadly, on Sunday, February 7, 2016, Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers Statein furtherance of his administration’s one-point agenda, yet again, continuedhis grossly irresponsible, repugnant and contemptuous, albeit, feckless missionof denigrating and disparaging the person and office of the immediate pastgovernor of the state, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, who is now theminister of transportation.

The ‘story-story’ this time is about another phantom $150,000,000(One Hundredand Fifty Million Dollars) that Amaechi purportedly stole from Rivers State government coffers and siphoned to his party, the All Progressives Congress(APC) within eighteen days, from December 1 to 18 of 2014. Sadly again,Wike picked a church, a sacred temple of God to tell his new imaginary tale, another bogus, fallacious concoction.

This new scurrilous fabrication by Governor Wike is in sync with the one-point agenda of the Wike administration, which is to throw as much mud as possible atformer governor Amaechi, hoping that some may at least stick. All sorts ofspurious stories about alleged corruption and stealing of state funds against the Amaechi administration, have been bandied in the media with no attempt to substantiate or prove these distorted false claims that completely makes nonsense of common sense.

Even, when Amaechi challenged the Wike administration and its agents to use any constitutionally available legal process or procedureto prove their jaundice, deceitful allegations against him and his administration, they have rather elected to do their own corruption probe, trial and conviction in the media; and now, even inside our solemn places ofworship (churches). How callous! Why would a government be so determined to desecrate and destroy every institution, all in the name of playing politics?

It continues to baffle us, like most right-thinking Nigerians that Governor Wike will stand in a church- a solemn place of worship- and carelessly, brusquely tell such a profound lie. He condescendingly descended to falsely and indecorously shout corruption against Amaechi, without providing a single shredof evidence to back his claims. How pathetic!

Pray, Governor Wike, who collected the $150million on behalf of APC? From which state Government account(s) was the $150million taken from? How was the$150million taken and given to APC? Was it by wired transfer from Rivers State government account(s) to APC account(s)?  So many questions, if Wike had attempted to answer, would have made nonsense of his supercilious allegations.

Rivers people and Nigerians are indeed sick and tired of this old worn-outtrick of Governor Wike to hoodwink and distract Rivers people from the real issues. Making a new spurious allegation of corruption against Amaechi everyday, will not make Rivers people forget that most of the beautiful, working institutions built by the Amaechi administration are now been allowed to rotaway in spite of the billions of naira that had accrued to the State and the billions of naira borrowed by Wike. Rivers people want to know why weeds and grasses have taken over the beautiful schools built by Amaechi? Why the standard working health facilities Amaechi built and left behind are now looking desolate and abandoned? Rivers people are concerned and worried thatcrime and criminals are back and have taken over. No quantum of mudslinging and attempt to disparage the inspiring legacies of the Amaechi years in RiversState would distract Rivers people from these issues.

The Federal Government pledges not to revoke any inherited contracts- Fashola

The Federal Government pledges not to revoke any inherited contracts- Fashola

Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola on behalf of the Federal government at the opening ceremony of a 3-day Nigerian Pension Industry Strategy Implementation Roadmap Retreat, said that  the government has pledged not to revoke any inherited contracts.

He added that the usual habit of reversing projects of previous government was wrong and not n the best interest of Nigerians.
He said:

“Newly formed governments begin a review of all contracts signed by their predecessors, cancel or frustrate them even when they are performing. What I am saying is that contracts cannot be terminated or frustrated on trumped up reasons simply because a new government does not like the affiliation of the holder of the contract,”.

He said the contract cancellation or revocation weakens the economy. He said :

It frustrates enterprise and leads to poverty and unemployment through job losses, loans taken from banks are endangered and the knock on effect is more than we often can see on the horizon, because the bad word spreads around the global investment community very quickly like wildfire”.

“The previous government has done something wrong, they did not adequately protect the interest of the people and so on. Yes it may be the case sometimes, that the past government did not act in good faith, or even compromised or was even negligent. The answer is not cancellation, if the contract is performing. The answer is renegotiation,” the Minister said.

“I am not saying that government must not terminate non-performing contracts. Indeed these are rights that are standardly provided in all well drawn contracts. This I think will enhance the reputation of the state or country or continent for honouring contracts and it is music to the ears of investors. Even then , I say, it must be sparingly resorted to, once the contract has been signed and is performing,” he posited

Read An Inspiring story of this Agege Bread Seller Olajunoke Orisaguna turned Big Model

I just love how this beautiful young lady's life has changed for the better. You all probably have heard of the amazing and almost incredible story of Olajumoke Orisaguna, the Agege bread hawker who is on her way to super stardom. Her story resembled your typical Cinderella rags to riches fairy tale.

As you read this, Olajumoke who got lucky after she was captured by TY Bello's camera is now signed to a big modeling agency in Lagos. Can you beat that?

She was signed by Few Model Management, who shared a photo of Olajumoke with her modeling contract on their IG page on Monday, February 8, 2016.

Below is the story of Olajumoke:

Popular photographer TY Bello was in a photo shoot with the international music star Tinie Tempah on a street in Lagos when Jumoke ‘hawked’ into the set. She was hawking her Agege bread when she was spotted.

For one who never misses an opportunity to tell a story, TY Bello weaved the bread seller-pop star narrative that has set Jumoke on the path to greatness.

Here are ten lessons we can all learn from the bread seller turned super model narrative...

1. The race is not to the swift:
Even that timeless Christian scripture told us that ”the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong”. The rags to glory story of Olajumoke Ajaguna has confirmed the holy maxim. We all know the struggle to grace the cover of fashion magazines by aspiring models.

We all know how wannabe models would give an arm to strut the runway. But here was Jumoke the bread hawker just going about her normal business and fortune finds her. Sometimes, we just have to live everyday as it comes and just do our thing and hope for luck to break.

2. Be focused on your game:
On that fateful day when TY Bello was shooting for Tinie Tempah on a Lagos street, Jumoke, the bread hawker was hawking as usual. For her, it was just another day. Come rain or sunshine, she must hawk not just for survival but as a routine. She was focused on her game. See how it has paid off.

3. Be prepared for the opportunity and when it comes grab it:
When Jumoke appeared for the photo shoot of her Thisday Style cover, she did not fret. She appeared ready for it. Even TY Bello said that Jumoke was a natural, it was as if she has been doing photo shoot all her life. You see she was prepared when the opportunity found her.

4. Never be afraid to take risk:
Jumoke left her village in Ire, Osun state, south-west Nigeria to sell bread in Lagos. She travelled all the way. She could have stayed back in the village and moan about her condition. But she left for Lagos hoping to eke out a living hawking. Instead doors of opportunity are opening for her in the modeling world.

5. Do not despise your little beginnings:
Do not be ashamed to do anything honest to make a living. Hawking bread is not the most glamorous of jobs. Yet, Jumoke hawked bread. You may say she had no choice but to hawk. She could have also be lazying around the place as many young people are doing today.

6. There is always someone waiting to lift you up:
There is always a God sent. In Jumoke’s case, it is the super star singer and photographer, TY Bello that has come to snatch her from the jaws of poverty. Like Christians pray, ask God to send your divine helper when you need them the most.

7. Work hard someone is always watching:
Continue to do your thing. Someone is watching, someone is waiting. Someone needs your skill. TY Bello was impressed at how Jumoke balanced the bread perfectly on her head. Horn your skill and be the best in what you do!

8. Follow your instinct:
Jumoke could have taken another street. She could have missed TY Bello photo shoot with Tinie Tempah on that fateful day. She must have probably followed her instinct now she is on her way to success.

9. Dreams do come true:
Yes, dreams do come true. Like all human beings, Jumoke must have nursed the ambition of being successful in life. Now she will live her dream with many doors opening at the same time.

10. Finally, Lagos is a land of opportunities:
Jumoke’s story has taught us that in Lagos anything can happen. Lagos is a land of opportunities. Dreams can be made and dreams can disappear like a candle in the wind.

With focus, hard work, dedication and luck, one can achieve one’s heart desires.

*The modeling agency that signed her, owned by Bolajo Fawehinmi, is an agency servicing a global audience with various looks of High Fashion models, Commercial Models and Ushers/Hostesses.

We wish Olajumoke all the best. And thank you TY Bello for making her live the Lagos dream!

Increased electricity tariff : Fashola appeals to Nigerians, says it's a bitter pill we must swallow

Increased electricity tariff : Fashola appeals to Nigerians, says it's a bitter pill we must swallow

Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has appealed to Nigerians to accept the new increase in electricity tariff, saying it is a bitter pill we must swallow.

He made the appeal during the second monthly meeting with stakeholders in the power sector in Lagos‎ today February 8th

“Importantly, I understand that people who have been disappointed over a long time will feel a sense of concern that again tariffs have gone up. But the truth is that these tariffs ought to have been there from day one. I don’t know why the government of yesterday was not courageous enough to tell us this was the price. It is a painful pill that I must appeal that we swallow. It is like quinine and malaria. It’s painful; it’s not sweet, I know that, but I do it because we are not left with many choices. This is the first major decision in power that this administration has taken. There are other problems. I can only appeal for some understanding and some trust that we do this in the best interest of our country"he said.

TY BELLO FINALLY MEETS WITH BREAD SELLER, HELPS TO CHANGE HER LIFE (PHOTOS)

Story by Nathan Nathaniel Ekpo/Nigeriafilms.com

When people pray that may one meet unmerited favour in their lives it is pertinent to say Amen to such prayers as it was the case of a bread seller who bumped into TY Bello’s photoshoot some days back.

TY Bello was in a particular area where she was taking some photographs with a client and the bread seller innocently walked into the photoshoot which in turn added glamour to the job.

Thereafter, the popular photographer has been going around looking for the this lady whom many had given thumps up for her beauty and model physic which is presumed could take her places.

As luck will have it, the seller was met after a close tap was placed on her and in sharing her story with TY Bello, she disclosed that she is 27 years of age and a mother of two who needed to struggle to make ends meet for herself and the family.

Pathetic! Lady Put Up Her Virginity For Auction To Save Dying Father From Kidney Ailment

Pathetic! Lady Put Up Her Virginity For Auction To Save Dying Father From Kidney Ailment

This is so sad, a lady has decided to auction her virginity so as to help her family's condition, read her mail below:

Quote

My name is Amaka. I am 22 years old blog reader based at Anambra State. I work as a receptionist at a company. I am a virgin and I want to auction my virginity off. My father is dying of kidney failure and the dialysis has taken its tool on us. My mother is almost running mad from poverty. We practically live at the hospital now. I wrote WAEC since 2012 but no way to further my education. We have sold all our village land and my father's health has taken all. I have done everything within my power to raise money all to no avail. All the male friends in my life would not help because they are demanding for sex in return. Nobody to help without asking for something in return. My brothers are still young. My uncle who is a rev father has done his bit and has withdrawn because he dosnt have anything left as he was just ordained last 2 years and he is the one training some of my younger ones. I have made up my mind to lose my pride to the highest bidder instead of these men who have decided to humiliate me first and torture me until my father dies. Please, I know this is wrong but I have gone past right or wrong now. I have prayed, fasted and yet my daddy is dying and my mum is lost. My mates are in 3rd year and I am working for 8k a month. I want anyone who is interested in taking my virginity to please reach out to me. The person can get a doctor for verification of my virginity and if anything should happen when we agree, it should be with protection unless that person would go for HIV and STD test with me at a hospital of my choice. Please dont judge me  until you have walked in my shoes. The fact that I remained a virgin till date even with the trials and tribulations life has thrown at me is because I wanted to get married a virgin like my mum did. I just dont have any other option.
