Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has called on Nigerians to patronise locally home made goods.

The call is coming even as the monarch commissioned 7 coaster buses to ease inter-state transportation for the people of Ile-Ife and environs.

The traditional ruler also announced free treatment of ailments for the people of the ancient town.

Oba Ogunwusi while commissioning the Made-in-Nigeria coastal buses at his palace at Enuwa Square in Ile-Ife urged Nigerians to patronise locally made products.

He stressed that the present economic downturn battling Nigeria would be reduced should the citizens of the country started patronising products and goods produced locally.

The monarch said he decided to partner with Olofin Micro Finance Bank, Ile-Ife to purchase the vehicles in order to bring about economic growth of Ile-Ife and also ease transportation into and outside Ife town.

He urged the people of the town to make good use of the free healthcare care services saying that development cannot thrive in a town that dwells in health challenges.

Speaking, the Managing Director of Olofin Micro Finance Bank, Mr. Toyin Olufolahan disclosed that the buses cost N8 million each.

He said the bank decided to partner with the monarch in his bid to bring about economic transformation in Ile-Ife.

Olufolahan said the coastal buses would be assessed by cooperative societies and they would pay instalmentally within two years

Nigeria will shake if I reveal what happened under Jonathan's administration - Ex-ADC

Nigeria will shake if I reveal what happened under Jonathan's administration - Ex-ADC

Colonel Ojogbane Adegbe, ex-president Goodluck Jonathan’s Aide-de-Camp (ADC) who was recently arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) may have started preliminary confessions.

According to Daily Sun, Colonel Adegbe revealed that another Dasukigate may be looming if he speaks out on the events of the last administration.

Before being flown to Abuja yesterday, it was gathered that preliminary interrogation of the former ADC by operatives of the EFCC showed that a new can of worms, which “could surpass what is now called Dasukigate,” would be opened up.

Jonathan’s National Security Adviser (NSA), Colonel Sambo Dasuki was arrested and handed over to EFCC in December last year for his role in the $2.1 billion arms procurement scandal and many others connected to the arms deal fraud have also been picked up.

The money means for procurement of arms to fight Boko Haram terrorists was majorly diverted to the presidential campaign of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for which its national publicity secretary is still being tried in the court, although he has been granted bail.

In the coming days, weeks, the former ADC is expected to give details of all he knows as regards the financial transactions and the individuals involved in the last administration.

Documents have been recovered which have hinted of large-scale questionable expenditure with funds sourced from and outside the arms purchase deals.

“Most of the funds were reportedly diverted soon after the election was postponed from the originally scheduled date of February 14, 2015 to March 28, 2015,” a source informed.

A top official of an agency set up to discourage militancy in the southsouth, who is currently outside the country is one of those mentioned in the new mind boggling revelations by the ADC.

It was also gathered that there was a “mind-boggling spending” during the two weeks extension of the general election, “which runs into several trillions of naira, when converted from foreign currency.”

Many top Nigerians, “including some very close persons” to the former president, the source further revealed, may likely be called to explain and defend their roles in the handling of the funds, a chunk of which was sourced from the agency.

As at the time of filing this report, Wilson Uwujaren, the EFCC spokesperson could not be reached for comments on the arrest.

Former chairman of Africa Independent Television (AIT), Chief Raymond Dokpesi; former Sokoto State governor, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa and former national chairman of the party, Alhaji Haliru Bello Mohammed and his son, Abbah are among top Nigerian politicians who have been arrested by the EFCC in relation to the arms procurement deal.

Former governor of Kaduna state, Brigadier General Isa Jafaru; former minister of State for Finance, Ambassador Bashir Yuguda and the director of Finance and Administration in the Office of the NSA, Shauibu Salisu have also been questioned by the anti-graft agency.

Meanwhile, the EFCC is investigating 12 senior army officers for their role in the $2.1billion arms deals.

The senior officers who were sent to the EFCC by the military authorities will be tried by a military Court Martial if found culpable.

Disclosing this in a statement on Friday, February 12, acting director of army public relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman said the senior officers “comprised of comprised of 3 serving Major Generals, and one retired, 3 Brigadier Generals, 4 Colonels and 1 Lieutenant Colonel.”

Valentine: 7 Unmistakable signs your boyfriend is in love with you

Valentine: 7 Unmistakable signs your boyfriend is in love with you

Some signs of true love are subtle, especially, if you are just starting a relationship. So how can you tell, if he is really into you long-term? These 7 ‘symptoms’ will help you to get the right answer!

1. He contacts you first.

Men fall in love in our absence. If he’s thinking about you, he’ll be drawn to contacting you!

2. He involves his friends.

If he’s into you, he’ll want his friends to meet you. This is a good sign.

3. He wants you to meet his family.

If he sees you like a long term girlfriend, he’ll want you to meet them and vice versa. If he considers your relationship casual, he won’t get you anywhere near his family.

4. He willingly spends most of his free time with you.

Not only will he spend the time but it will be his idea. A good sign: he tries and monopolizes Friday and Saturday, i.e. date night.

5. He shows care.

Have a problem? He’s trying to solve it. This guy will invest his time and energy into your happiness.

6. That look of love.

Man in love has a way that he looks at you. It is what people call “lingering glances.” He will maintain eye contact longer, and keep looking at you when you aren’t necessarily speaking to him.

7. He does things especially for you.

The guy who will move mountains to make you smile is a guy who has fallen for you hard.

Final sign he loves you: he actually says the L word.

God help us !! Pastor Rap*s Teenage Girl, Confesses: "Blame Me, Not Devil"

God help us !! Pastor Rap*s Teenage Girl, Confesses: "Blame Me, Not Devil"

The General Overseer of Agape Baptist Church, Pastor Oprite Amakiri, has been arrested and detained at the Rumuolumeni Police Division in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The 50-year-old randy pastor has confessed to how he deceived one of the members of his church and r*ped her 18yrs old sister before he was exposed and dragged to the police.

Pastor Amakiri was said to have told about 200 members of his church that he had been battling waste pain for the past two years and stressed that God told him that a girl between the age of 12 and 18 years old would be needed to massage his waste for him to be healed...

However, the gullible members of the church did not see anything wrong in the pastor’s ‘prophecy’ and one of them, the elder sister to the victim (names withheld) decided to make available her 18-year-old sister for the massage job.

The pastor (Amakiri) decided to visit the home of his victim’s sister to get massaged while the owner of the house (victim’s sister), who is a roadside trader, had gone to do her petty trading.

It was learnt that the pastor r*ped the girl on three occasions and threatened to deal with her if she dared expose his deeds to anyone, including her elder sister.

Not satisfied with the development, the victim (names withheld) slammed the door against the pastor on the fourth day and stopped him from gaining access into the room for another round of s*x.

Angered by the girl’s effrontery, the randy pastor put a call across to the elder sister of the victim and told her that the 18-year-old girl was trying to stop ‘God’s prophecy’, an action that forced the naïve victim’s sister to abandon her wares and rushed home with dissatisfaction.

On getting to her house, the r*pe victim told her sister how she had been defiled on four occasions by the pastor. It was at that point that the trader raised the alarm and Pastor Amakiri was arrested.

Speaking with newsmen, the errant pastor confessed to the crime and said nobody should blame it on the devil and that he (Amakiri) should take the blame because he actually planned and executed the r*pe.

“The elder sister to the girl I r*ped is a choir member of my church. It was after choir practice one Thursday that I informed the sister that I would like to visit her house for a serious discussion and she obliged me.

“The following day, I paid her the visit and requested that she allow her younger sister (his victim), to massage my waist, that I had been having ache on it in the past two years and every treatment, drugs and injection had failed.

“She then went and discussed with the younger sister, who accepted to help me. So, we had the first massage treatment that day while the elder sister was around and nothing happened between me and the little girl.

“On Saturday, I called her to inform her that I was coming back for the treatment, I got there while she was about to leave for choir practice in the church. While the massage was going on, I had the (s*xual) urge. So, I had carnal knowledge of the girl. I have successfully r*ped her three times,” he said.

The cleric, whose wife is a health worker in Degem area of the state, said he could not tell his wife to massage him because she only came home from her work place once a week when she was off duty.

Amakiri, who has four children, stated that it was during his fourth attempt at r*ping the girl that he met a brick wall and since then, he had not regained his freedom.

“I sincerely regret my actions. It is like the ground should open up and swallow me. Don’t blame the devil for what has happened, blame me because I was tempted and I did it,” he added.

The victim, who simply gave her name as Goodness, told newsmen that she never knew the pastor that was respected so much by members of his church could think of having s*xual intercourse with her.

The State Police PRO, Ahmad Mohammad, said the pastor had confessed and would be charged to court.

Shameful !!! Woman Vomits & Excretes 80 Wraps of Cocaine at The Airport

Shameful !!! Woman Vomits & Excretes 80 Wraps of Cocaine at The Airport

A mild drama played out at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja after a 48 year-old woman was said to have vomited wraps of white, powdery substances that tested positive for cocaine.

Saidat Hassan, a mother of three,‎ was arrested at the central screening section of the departure hall during the screening of passengers on an Egypt Airline flight to Jedda, Saudi Arabia, en-route Cairo.

She was immediately apprehended by officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) who discovered that she had ingested 80 wraps of cocaine weighing 904 grammes.

Hamisu Lawan, the NDLEA Abuja airport commander said efforts were made to protect her from any harm resulting from drug ingestion.

“As soon as we discovered that the suspected wraps she vomited tested positive for cocaine, we took measures to ensure her safety by preventing any harm that may result from drug ingestion,” he said.

“While under observation, she excreted sixty-five similar wraps. In all, she ingested 80 wraps of cocaine weighing 904 grammes; her case is under investigation.”

Mrs. Hassan, a native of Idiroko, Ogun State, who resides in Lagos Island claimed to be a business woman dealing in clothing materials.

Her words: “I am a business woman and I sell women clothes at Balogun market. I used to buy my goods from Ghana. I was introduced into the drug business by a friend and business partner. The drug was brought from Abidjan, Ivory Coast and we were to share the proceeds equally.

“Until my arrest, I never knew that the cocaine I ingested would have led to my death in Saudi Arabia. I thank God for keeping me alive.”

NDLEA Chairman, Mohammad Abdallah, who expressed satisfaction with her arrest said her action negates every principle of good parenting.

He said, “This is gross ineptitude on the part of a mother saddled with the responsibility of nurturing her children into future leaders. I am glad that she did not die from drug ingestion and she is alive to face trial. Besides escaping the risk of swallowing cocaine, this arrest also saved her because drug trafficking in Saudi Arabia is punishable by death.

“She will soon be charged to court because the law must run its full course. I expect the general public to learn lessons from this case that drug trafficking leads to pain, ignominy and untimely death.”

Possible locations of the kidnapped Chibok girls located - Nigerian Air Force

Possible locations of the kidnapped Chibok girls located - Nigerian Air Force

The Nigerian Air Force says it has located the possible location of the abducted Chibok girls. The Director of Public Relations at the Nigerian Air Force, Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa, told Channels TV that the Air Force is abstaining from attacking the area to make sure that the girls are not hit.

He explained that the latest aerial bombardment of Sambisa forest had been aimed at the logistics base of the Boko Haram sect and not areas where the Chibok girls could be located.

"We have no fears that the girls are not there because that particular location has been under surveillance for quite a while and we suspected maybe its a kind of ammunition depot or maybe a workshop that they are using as their logistics place. Once you take off the logistics base, of course you gradually weaken the resolve of the enemy to be able to prosecute any campaign," he said.

Explaining some of the tactics used by the Air Force to locate the girls, Famuyiwa said:

"The UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) has become a force multiplier for us because its cheaper to run these platforms, you are not putting men there (and) the risk of  losing human beings is greatly reduced. Again the UAVs have the capability to be airborne for up to eleven hours and its quite cheap to maintain. So, we have been able to employ the UAV to a great extent to carry out reconnaissance and surveillance basically for intelligence gathering on the activities of the Boko Haram."

He said that the UAVs have also helped the Air Force to understand the terrorists’ pattern of movement and "how to be able to counter them should they want to strike or spring any surprise".

The best way to celebrate Valentine's day

If am asked how I would be spending the day, I will simply say "I will be in church that day loving my God. I’m not a loving-for-one-day kind of person. Anybody that only loves me for one day doesn’t truly love me. I don’t believe in this idea of wearing red on one day and eating lots of cake and chocolate in the name of celebrating love. I’m a grown Man for I presume its only children wait for a particular day to celebrate love.".....

Mosquitoes carrying Zika virus are in Nigeria’ – Health Minister

Mosquitoes carrying Zika virus are in Nigeria’ – Health Minister

Nigerians have been warned to make use of mosquito nets, owing to the presence of mosquitoes carrying Zika virus in the country.
The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, disclosed this on Thursday, during a press briefing in Abuja, where he explained that the mosquitoes were active and flying around.

The Minister added that the Zika-carrying mosquitoes usually bite during the day and early morning.
Professor Adewole urged Nigerians to remain calm, vigilant and also to report any suspected case of an acute febrile illness in pregnant women, in particular, to any nearest health facility.
“Nigerian scientists working in Western Nigeria in 1954 discovered Zika virus in Nigeria. Further studies in the years 1975 to 1979 showed that 40 per cent of Nigeria adults and 25 per cent of Nigerian children have antibodies to Zika virus, meaning they are protected against this virus.”
“Despite the fact that some Nigerians are immune to the Zika virus infection as demonstrated by previous studies, it is important and advisable that Nigerians should be careful and protect themselves from mosquito bites. There is no vaccine for Zika virus, and no cure other than rest, plenty of fluids and perhaps over-the-counter medication to reduce fevers, aches and pains as previously mentioned.”
This, therefore, means that prevention is most effective means of preventing transmission. “I advise all Nigerians, particularly pregnant women, to avoid travelling to countries infected by this virus in these periods. If however, you are to visit any country where Zika virus is now being actively transmitted, you are advised to protect yourselves from mosquito bites.”
“Pregnant women considering travel to affected areas may wish to consult their health-care provider prior to travel and after return. They should also practice personal and household steps to prevent mosquito, including putting mosquito repellant on their clothes and skin, wear long sleeves and pants, and sleep underneath mosquito nets at night, where possible.”
