Lassa Fever Death Toll Hits 40

The Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, has revealed that over 40 deaths have been recorded since the outbreak of the deadly viral disease, Lassa Fever in Nigeria. Speaking at a press conference in Abuja today, Adewole said the viral disease which is spread by infected rodents, has spread to ten states in the last six weeks when the first case was reported in November.

“In the last six weeks Nigeria has been experiencing Lassa fever outbreak which so far has affected 10 states in the country. The states affected include Bauchi, Nasarawa, Niger, Taraba, Kano, Rivers, Edo, Plateau, Gombe and Oyo state. The total number so far reported is 86 and 40 deaths with the mortality rate of 45%. Our laboratories have confirmed 22 cases so far, indicative of a new round trip of Lassa fever outbreak,” he said.

A Police Inspector dies mysteriously 12 hours after promotion in Ondo

A mysterious incident happened in Ondo state at the weekend when a police inspector named Usman Kadiri stationed at the Yaba Police division in Ondo state suddenly died in his sleep.

One of his colleagues who spoke on his sudden death, said; “Kadiri was in charge of traffic control. On that faithful night, he got a message from our headquarters in Akure that he has been promoted to the position of a station officer and we were all happy.”

His colleagues further stated that he was in a happy mood on that night and celebrated his promotion with his colleagues and friends before everyone went to their various homes. He also left for his home which was like 2 poles to the station.

He narrated further that suddenly they heard a noise from the new inspector’s home in the wee hours of the following morning that Kadiri died in his sleep.

His sudden death was said to have caused commotion in the station that day. Now all other police officers are said to be afraid to take up the position he left.

Three other police officers were penciled to take up the position but they all rejected it.

Toni Payne Engaged, Set To Remarry: 9ice’s Ex-Wife Finally Forgives Him 6 Years After Divorce

Toni Payne Engaged, Set To Remarry: 9ice’s Ex-Wife Finally Forgives Him 6 Years After Divorce

Six years after a messy divorce, US-based business woman Toni Payne, the former wife of Gongo Aso crooner, Abolore Akande aka 9ice is set to remarry.

According to Daily Telegraph, Miss Payne has publicly disclosed that she has forgiven the man she once loved but with whom she fell out. Toni, who has a child for the singer named Zion, wrote an open letter letting the singer know that whatever bitterness she had for him has been forgiven. She explained that she had to do that after six years because she has been doing well for herself and it has not been her power, but God and as such, it was necessary that she forgives him.

The confession partly reads, “It has been a good six years and now I can categorically say I have let go of all bitterness and hate I felt for a man I once loved. It has been an uphill journey, but to find myself here is a blessing.” Not wanting to recall how the past was, Toni explained that her marriage breakup should be blamed on wrong decision and bad press as she wonders how everything played out so fast that brought the whole sadness. “Without getting into detail and backtracking too much, I’ll summarize it as a lot of naivety, a lot of bad decisions, and a lot of untrained media professionals ready to blow things out of proportion.

A man sang a song. And for whatever reason known to them, Nigerian media “professionals” decided to tag it as what it was not, and a lot of Nigerian onlookers decided to help spread it without knowing if it was true or not. And unfortunately for me, I was caught in the crossfire. A lot of people formed opinions about me, some even hate me till today for something that was mere fiction. Such is life, right? Till today, I still wonder how things got that far. I wonder how things got so nasty. I wonder how a once beautiful relationship turned so sour so quickly… These days, we talk – a lot. We talk about what happened and how we got here.

These days, we can now joke and laugh about the past. I ask a lot of questions because I really want to understand him and put myself in his shoes. I also hope he understands my every reaction and puts himself in my shoes. “Through all the mess, we never really talked deeply about things. There was too much resentment on my side for me to want to allow him in. There was too much bitterness in my soul to ever want to forgive. I honestly never thought this day would come – that is how angry I was.

There is a Yoruba proverb that states, “When the ocean rises, you don’t rise to meet it.” For every action, there is a reaction and for every reaction, there are consequences. “After everything we went through, I always say it is best to keep your private life private. I write this today not to deviate from that, but it would be unfair to forgive wholesomely for something that was so “Public” while leaving the impression that I have not. I know a lot of people think I hate him- I don’t!

Toni Payne is reportedly enjoying a new relationship that is altar-bound but has kept the identity of her man from the public to avoid a repeat of what happened in her first marriage.

Net present value vs internal rate of return

Net present value vs internal rate of return

Independent vs dependent projects

NPV and IRR methods are closely related because:

i) both are time-adjusted measures of profitability, and
ii) their mathematical formulas are almost identical.

So, which method leads to an optimal decision: IRR or NPV?

a) NPV vs IRR: Independent projects

Independent project: Selecting one project does not preclude the choosing of the other.

With conventional cash flows (-|+|+) no conflict in decision arises; in this case both NPV and IRR lead to the same accept/reject decisions.

Figure 6.1 NPV vs IRR Independent projects

If cash flows are discounted at k1, NPV is positive and IRR > k1: accept project.

If cash flows are discounted at k2, NPV is negative and IRR < k2: reject the project.

Mathematical proof: for a project to be acceptable, the NPV must be positive, i.e.

Similarly for the same project to be acceptable:

where R is the IRR.

Since the numerators Ct are identical and positive in both instances:

· implicitly/intuitively R must be greater than k (R > k);
· If NPV = 0 then R = k: the company is indifferent to such a project;
· Hence, IRR and NPV lead to the same decision in this case.

b) NPV vs IRR: Dependent projects

NPV clashes with IRR where mutually exclusive projects exist.

Example:

Agritex is considering building either a one-storey (Project A) or five-storey (Project B) block of offices on a prime site. The following information is available:

Initial Investment Outlay

Net Inflow at the Year End

Project A

-9,500

11,500

Project B

-15,000

18,000

Assume k = 10%, which project should Agritex undertake?

$954.55

$1,363.64

Both projects are of one-year duration:

IRRA:

$11,500 = $9,500 (1 +RA)

= 1.21-1

therefore IRRA = 21%

IRRB:

$18,000 = $15,000(1 + RB)

= 1.2-1

therefore IRRB = 20%

Decision:

Assuming that k = 10%, both projects are acceptable because:

NPVA and NPVB are both positive
IRRA > k AND IRRB > k

Which project is a "better option" for Agritex?

If we use the NPV method:

NPVB ($1,363.64) > NPVA ($954.55): Agritex should choose Project B.

If we use the IRR method:

IRRA (21%) > IRRB (20%): Agritex should choose Project A. See figure 6.2.

Figure 6.2 NPV vs IRR: Dependent projects

Up to a discount rate of ko: project B is superior to project A, therefore project B is preferred to project A.

Beyond the point ko: project A is superior to project B, therefore project A is preferred to project B

The two methods do not rank the projects the same.

I ain't sign any peace agreement with babymama, Sophia Momodu , Davido cries out

Earlier today the Daily Sun newspapers reported that the Adelekes and theMomodus have agreed to a peace accord.
Davido and baby-mama, Sophia Momodu have been locked in a media war over the custody of their daughter, Imade, for the past two weeks.

While the baby is presently in the custody of the Adelekes- Davido’s family, the other side- Momodus- are fighting to pry the child from them or have joint custody.
According to the Daily Sun’s report of Thursday, the accord was a result of Wednesday’s meeting between the two families and officials of National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

However, Davido took to Twitter to laugh off the report, while pointing out that he never signed anything nor made any agreement with the family of his baby-mama, Sophia Momodu.

3,032 pardoned soldiers reject redeployment to N-East to fight Boko Haram

3,032 pardoned soldiers reject redeployment to N-East to fight Boko Haram

The 3032 soldiers, who were pardoned last August for various offences during campaigns against the Islamic terrorist group, Boko Haram, in the North East of Nigeria, have rejected posting to the fronts. The soldiers explained that they were never really pardoned and re-integrated into the Army, but rather, re-sentenced to the war front.

Vanguard learned this created anxiety at the Command and Staff College, Nigerian Army School of Infantry, NASI, Jaji, Kaduna state, when over 3,000 soldiers – who claimed to have been subjected to unimaginable ill treatment after their pardon  were gathered by the Commandant of NASI, Major General Kassim Aldulkareem, to inform them that they have been assigned new riffles and should be ready for deployment to the fronts on the 11 January, 2016.

According to sources, the soldiers complained that they have not been fully re-instated into the Nigerian Army, because attempts by them to report to their units were rejected at their bases since they have no re-instatement letters.
The soldiers also said that since they have been kicked out of the barracks they have not been paid for seven months making their families who live off-barracks begging for food.
It was gathered that, they cried,

“We are not going! Give us re-instatement letters! You are sentencing us back to war,” among others. According to sources, the Commandant hurriedly left when the soldiers were becoming uncontrollable.

One of the soldiers who spoke to some newsmen on grounds that his name not be mentioned said: “Look at me; I have put in about 28 years of my life serving this country. I have seen action in Liberia; I have been to Rwanda, Sudan and even served overseas and we the Nigerian troops did very well and were decorated in some occasions.
“But, our experience in fighting to save our motherland is too sad a story for the outside world to know. We are not cowards. We held on for over four months facing Boko Haram.
“I just want to say that after the Army dismissed about 5,000 of us, 3032 of us were pardoned last August. Since that time, the Army Authority has treated us like prisoners of wars.

“We were told to assemble in Jaji on August 17, which we did. Then on August 19, the General Officer Commander, GOC, of 1st Infantry Division, Maj. Gen Adeniyi Oyebade gathered us and without prior noticed moved us to Nigerian Army training Centre, NATRAC, Kontogora. Some of us found ourselves there in bathroom slippers. We were just taken straight to the place. Then, without any additional clothes or uniform, we were subjected to what was clear punishment, not training for another three weeks.
“Still in the clothes we came, we were again relocated to 333 artillery Barracks, Njetilo, Maiduguri. We got nothing but constant insults as cowards. We were there without uniforms no arms. They just left us there and we were abused and told to assemble at every two hours through these days for another three weeks.
“In Jaji, we went through another round of punishment, not training. Yet, we were not given any letter to show that we are still serving soldiers.
“So when the Commandant came and said we were going back to the North East, without clearing our status, we felt we have been punished enough.” he said.

The Public Relations Officer, PRO, of the Nigerian Infantry Corps, Major C.K Abaide, told our correspondent on phone that he was not aware of the development.

“I shall reach you back immediately I have our side of the story”, he said, but never did at the time of sending this report.

A Father murders his pregnant daughter ,lives with corpse for days

A dad charged with murdering his pregnant daughter allegedly lived with her corpse for days before his arrest. The body of Anndrea Caruth was found stuff stuffed inside a crawlspace next to her father's basement apartment, police said.
The 39-year-old, who was found with a rope wrapped around her throat and torso, struggled to survive in the last minutes of her life, the Daily News reported.
Police said William Caruth, 61, had bite marks on both hands and a cut on the bridge of his nose when he was taken into custody.
Valentina Caiazzo, the previous owner of the family's apartment, told the News:

"She really fought for her life.(Anndrea) was the nicest person. I thought she was good ... this is a shocker."

Mum-to-be Anndrea disappeared on Sunday morning. She had been strangled and smashed in the head, suffering skull fractures and brain injuries.

Police allege that after killing his daughter, her father broke up a concrete floor inside a closet and dumped her body into the crawlspace.
He then placed a piece of plywood and a rug over the hole — but the smell of the body wafted into the house.
A machete and a hammer were recovered from the home, and two additional buckets of gravel were found outside the residence on Corsa Avenue. She was five months pregnant.

There was a dispute between the father and daughter over a second mortgage taken out on the home by Anndrea Caruth, with the dad apparently giving the cash to someone else, one source said.
Records indicate the murdered daughter, four years after taking out a mortgage on the property, took out a larger $280,000 (£191,000) mortgage in 2006.

The Lagos state Government set to establish mobile courts, devices strategies to tackle cybercrime

The Lagos state Government set to establish mobile courts, devices strategies to tackle cybercrime

The Lagos State Government on Thursday announced plans to establish functional Mobile Courts in the State to facilitate prompt trial of violators of the law, especially environmental and traffic offences.

According to the press statement:
Lagos Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Adeniji Kazeem, who disclosed this at a media parley with Judiciary Editors and Correspondents in Alausa, said the Mobil Courts will operate in full compliance with the rules of natural justice, equity and good conscience.

He said more importantly, the citizens appearing before the Courts would be afforded their constitutional rights and fair hearing.

Specifically, Kazeem said the Mobile Courts will, among others, address the prosecution of violators of the State Environmental Law and Traffic Offences, among others.

While observing that cybercrime had become a menace in the State as more criminals are exploiting the convenience of the internet to commit diverse range of criminal activities, Kazeem said his Ministry has devised strategies to work closely with the Police and other stakeholders to tackle cybercrime cases.

Kazeem also pledged to introduce the use of information technology to enhance judicial reforms in order to accelerate dispensation of justice.

He said: "Crime is a serious issue that the State is set to tackle headlong through the creation of crime data that would also assist the Police, the lawyers and other stakeholders in fighting crime effectively and I want to assure Lagosians that the State Government is committed to touching their lives, especially the common man, through enhanced access to justice."

Kazeem, however, solicited for the cooperation of all stakeholders, including the Judiciary, Police, Prisons and the Media to work in harmony as partners in progress with the Ministry.

A Moral Question for Prof. Woke Shoyinka - by Rivers State commissioner for Information

A Moral Question for Prof. Woke Shoyinka - by Rivers State commissioner for Information

Piece below written by Dr. Austin Tam-George, the Hon. Commissioner for Information and Communication, Rivers State..

Prof. Wole Soyinka’s reaction to the scandal of the 82 Million Naira dinner held in his honour by the Rotimi Amaechi government in Rivers State is at once disappointing and depressing. Soyinka has said he didn’t know about the cost of a party held in his name, in a State where 90 per cent of the people live in insufferable poverty. But now that official documents show the cost of his three-hour dinner, where is his moral outrage?

Why does his statement not include a condemnation of such unconscionable misuse of public funds in his name?

In a country full of villainy, Soyinka is often held up as a moral titan.  The Nobel Laureate cements this perception by conducting himself in the manner of someone who suffers from a god complex, someone who does no wrong.

But Soyinka’s unbridled support for Rotimi Amaechi invites close moral scrutiny.

Rivers State is reeling from the catastrophic legacy of the Amaechi years. Despite receiving over 3 trillion naira in revenue in 8 years, Amaechi left the most abandoned projects in the history of Rivers State, since 1967.

Thousands of workers went without their salaries for 4 months, aged pensioners faced starvation without their pensions for 8 months, and the salaries of thousands of teachers were not paid for nearly 12 months.

Everywhere you looked in Amaechi’s Rivers State; there was this stark, almost synonymic connection between poor governance, corruption and fiction.

A physical tour of the Greater Port Harcourt City in Rivers State on which Amaechi had spent over one hundred billion Naira, revealed only a putrid landscape of corruption, broken dreams and wasted resources.

How could Wole Soyinka be indifferent to such atrocious legacy?

During her 80th birthday in 2011, the American Nobel Laureate Toni Morrison had a hearty laugh over coffee with friends at her home in Ohio. No State dinner was held in her honour at tax payers’ expense by the State of Ohio.

Can Soyinka reasonably claim to be indifferent to the exemplary moral contrast provided by Toni Morrison?

The 82 million Naira dinner for Soyinka is a financial crime against the people of Rivers State.

Did the Nobel Laureate receive cash gifts during that bibulous night?

Will Soyinka condemn this pornography of waste and excess by Rotimi Amaechi?

That is the moral question.

PDP spokesman, Olisa Metuh in More Trouble; EFCC Gets Order to Detain Him, His Agents on the Run

PDP spokesman, Olisa Metuh in More Trouble; EFCC Gets Order to Detain Him, His Agents on the Run

A court has approved the detention of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) spokesman, Olisa Metuh. He was arrested on Tuesday in respect of investigation of about N1.4billion “suspicious” funds in an account of a company which has been traced to him.

About N400m meant for arms purchase from the Office of the National Security Adviser was paid into the account of Destra Investment Limited where Metuh has a high stake.

Economice and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) approached the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Wuse Zone 2 for an order to detain Metuh – about 30 hours after his arrest in Abuja.

EFCC decided to seek an order to detain Metuh because some of his accomplices are on the run.

Moving the application at about 2.34pm, the EFCC counsel, Mr. C.O. Ugwu, said: “Your Worship, we have a remand proceeding brought by way of ex parte motion pursuant to Section 293 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015.

“The application is supported by Form 8, which is the stipulated form for an application of this nature. It is of 16-paragraph affidavit deposed to by Junaid Saidu, a detective officer with EFCC.

“We place reliance on the entirety of the deposition in the said affidavit, especially paragraphs 4-15. In a nutshell, we have brought this application because the investigation involved in this case is a bit complex and there are also persons reasonably suspected to be involved in the fraud who are yet at large.

“We need the suspect in the custody so as to aid us in our investigation. So, we have come with this application to respectfully apply for an order of this Honourable Court authorising us to keep him in custody.

“By the provision of Section 296(1) of the ACJ Act, Your Worship is enjoined to grant an application of this nature for a period of 14 days.

“May I conclude my submission by referring this Honourable Court to the case of Lufadeju v. Jonhnson(2007) 8NWLR Pt 1037 at Page 535.

“This is a case where the Supreme Court held that it is constitutional to detain a suspect so as to aid investigation and to ensure that the right of the suspect is protected.

“This is because we have approached the court to justify his detention by operation of law. So, there is no way we can detain him unnecessarily since the court is in the picture.”

In his ruling, Chief Magistrate Okeagu Azubuike said: “This court has read carefully the affidavit in the Form 8 to support this application as well as the legal authorities submitted thereto.

“This court has found merit in this application and hereby allows the applicant to detain the respondent (Metuh) in their custody from the 6th of January to 13th of January, 2016..."

Odua Peoples Congress (OPC) members nabbed with police guns

Odua Peoples Congress (OPC) members nabbed with police guns

The suspects

Policemen attached to the Anti-Robbery Squad, State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba, have arrested three members of the Odua People’s Congress with two police guns.

The suspects ─ Gbadamosi Azeez, aka Agarasha; Salami Raufu, aka Orobo; and Waheed Oseni, aka Oosa ─ were apprehended with a pump-action rifle and an AK-47 rifle after a tip-off that the men were allegedly planning to rob Mushin residents during the Yuletide.

It was learnt that the police had first arrested Azeez, who allegedly used his tricycle to ferry ammunition for the group.

The suspect was said to have led the police team to Folarin Street, Mushin, on December 29, where Raufu and Oseni were arrested.

Azeez, an indigene of Ogun State, denied knowledge of the guns, saying he had been called by a leader of the OPC, Olori, to drive him to meet a friend.

He said, “I am a member of the OPC and I drive a tricycle. I have been doing this for two years now. Sometime in December, 2014, I had finished working and parked my tricycle by the roadside.

Orobo (Raufu) called me on the telephone that our leader, Olori, wanted to see me. When I got to his house, he said I should start my tricycle and take him to Ojuwoye to meet a leader of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, called No Case.

“When we got there, he asked me to excuse them. After I returned, he said he was done and we could go back. It was last week Tuesday that the police suddenly arrested me and said the meeting between our leader andNo Case was to sell police guns. I have never carried a gun and don’t know about it.”

It was learnt that Azeez, however, took police detectives to meet Raufu, who had called him on the night of the incident.

Raufu, while also claiming innocence, said he only acted on instructions.

The 32-year-old motorcycle rider said Olori had instructed him to contact Azeez so they could take a gun to No Case.

He said, “Olori took a gun inside the tricycle that night and we went to Ojuwoye, where he had a discussion with No Case. He took another gun into the tricycle, and when we arrived, he handed the guns to Oseni. I have never robbed or done anything with the guns.Olori, who is at large, can explain better.”

Oseni, a baker, said after he collected the guns, he kept them in his ceilings and didn’t do anything with them until the police came and asked for them.

The 29-year-old Oyo State indigene said he collected the guns because of the respect he had for his leader.

A police source said the Force got a tip-off that the men were planning to rob with the guns, adding that they also traded in ammunition.

The Deputy Police Public Relations Officer said he would get back, but he had yet to call back as of the time of filing this report.

The killing of NFF Man's: ‘Policemen ignored distress calls’

The killing of NFF Man's: ‘Policemen ignored distress calls’

Abubakar's assignment

The Chairman, Security Committee, Kado Estate, Umar Kotangora, says policemen on duty at the estate failed to respond to his distress calls during an attack on the estate.

The head of protocol at the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Abubakar, and his gateman, Umar Saidu, were killed during the attack on Wednesday.

Kontagora stated on Thursday that he called the policemen at the security post on the telephone during the attack, adding that the officers ignored his phone calls while the attack lasted.

“During the attack at Abubakar’s house, I called the policemen, but they didn’t respond. We had to walk down to the police post where we found two policemen – one was sitting while his colleague was sleeping,” he said.

Kotangora explained that the estate had recorded many attacks by armed assailants, adding that it was the reason a police post was established by the entrance to the estate.

Kotangora said two houses were attacked about five months ago, adding that a resident was stabbed in the neck during the incident.

He stated that a vigilance group that was set up to complement the police’s effort was disbanded following the refusal of the residents to pay security fees.

He said, “We set up a vigilance group to stem the incessant armed attacks, but we had to disband it because the residents refused to pay them. Some people have been calling for another vigilance group.”

Asked if he suspected insiders’ connivance, the estate security committee chairman said it was not possible for criminal gangs to carry out attacks in the estate without collusion of some residents.

He stated that a meeting had been fixed for Sunday with the Life Camp Divisional Police Officer to discuss new ways of securing the estate.

Our correspondent gathered that Abubakar was shot in the head through the window after the gang had broken the glass windows in the house.

It was learnt that the hoodlums also killed the gateman, Saidu (Umar), who approached them after they had scaled the fence into the compound.

A resident said, “It seems Saidu recognised one of the assailants because we heard him saying, ‘you again?’ Some minutes later, we heard a gunshot. It was after killing him that they went for Abubakar. They could not gain entrance into his apartment, so they broke all the glass windows and shot him.”

A former tenant of the estate, Akose Aigbodeni, said she was shocked to learn of Umar’s demise, saying she had known him for about 15 years.

She said, “Umar (Saidu) used to be a teacher. He had been a security man in the compound since 2004. I moved out of the compound in 2014, but I still maintain my relationship with him and everyone that had lived in the house I rented.”

It was learnt that the gateman, who hailed from Plateau State, had two wives and 11 children.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Anjuguri Manzah, stated that the Commissioner of Police, Wilson Inalegwu, had ordered the arrest and detention of the two policemen on duty during the attack.

“I just drew the CP’s attention to the allegation and he has ordered the arrest and detention of the personnel on duty.

“He has also asked the command’s provost to investigate the allegation,” he said.

As Fire guts Alaba market, kills Octogenarian in Ikorodu

A recent Ikorodu fire incident Photo:Nigeria realestatehub.com

The electronics section of the Alaba International Market, Ojo, Lagos State, was engulfed in flames on Thursday, destroying goods estimated at millions of naira.

This is just as an octogenarian, Michael Olabode, was killed in a midnight inferno which affected a bungalow in the Ikorodu area of the state.

Our correspondent gathered that the Alaba market fire, which started around 6am, consumed nine shops.

The fire was said to have started after power was restored in the area.

After traders tried in vain to put out the flames, they were said to have resorted to salvaging their goods.

As the fire aggravated, a resident was said to have called officials of the Lagos State Fire Service to the scene.

It was learnt that firefighters from the Ojo and Sari Iganmu fire stations responded with 10,000 litres of water each.

An official said, “The fire would have spread to other shops in the market which would have escalated the loss, but for our prompt intervention. The fire was only able to affect nine shops where they sell electronic products.

“We gathered that the fire started after power was restored to the area, so it is possible that one of the traders forgot to switch off an electrical appliance before going home the previous night.”

In the Ikorodu fire, PUNCH Metro was told that a passerby was the first to notice thick smokes billowing out of the building.

It was learnt that a lady and three men, including the deceased, were in the house.

A source said, “They didn’t know what was happening until the passerby raised the alarm that the house was on fire. The men tried to save the old man, but when they saw that they were also getting trapped in the building, they had to let go and save themselves.

“The man was burnt to death. It is possible that the fire was caused by a lit candle because there was no electricity when the incident happened.”

The corpse of the victim was said to have been deposited in a morgue in Ikorodu by policemen from the Ikorodu division.

The Director of the Lagos State Fire Service, Rasak Fadipe, who confirmed the two incidents, decried the level of carelessness of residents.

Aubameyang has been in phenomenal form for Dortmund this season, scoring 27 goals in all competitions in as many appearances.

Born in 1989, he started his career at Milan before joining Saint Ettienne in 2011 after four loan spells with clubs in France.

The 26-year-old joined Dortmund in 2013 and has since made a mark on the German club, winning two DFL Supercup in 2013 and 2014.

Although Dortmund has no desire to sell the player, several top clubs are interested in signing him with reports emerging on Thursday that Arsenal may bid for him.

With a transfer fee expected to be as high as £60m, long-term admirer Arsene Wenger may opt to look elsewhere for talent.
