2019 Elections: Rev. Fr. Mbaka gives his take on Buhari and Atiku

2019 Elections: Rev. Fr. Mbaka gives his take on Buhari and Atiku

Oct 21, 2018 7:36 AM

Popular religious leader and general overseer of The Spiritual Director, Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has said that neither president Muhammadu Buhari nor PDP presidential flagbearer Atiku Abubakar is the answer to Nigeria’s struggles.

Mbaka described Atiku as bureau de change, according to him, because of the foreign currencies that allegedly exchanged hands at the National Convention of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, before the ex-VP emerged the party’s presidential candidate.

Mbaka, however, predicted that Atiku will defeat Buhari in 2019 but warned him not to emulate Buhari if he is elected the president. The fiery cleric said this while addressing his congregation at the Adoration Ground.

“So let the will of God be done in Nigeria. It is like what I have been saying Buhari change or you will be changed” Mbaka said that Buhari had all the human and material resources at his disposal to make the country better but rather chose to play ethnic, despotic politics.

“What will it take you; change the Chief of Staff, change B, change C, change this and change that; even if it will take 20 Igbo men or 20 Yoruba men to change Nigeria; take all of them. Look at what (Chukwuma) Soludo did in the Central Bank; he has assured Nigeria and the whole world that there is nothing like bank collapse again.

“An Igbo man did this, why can’t Buhari take Soludo for the economic revival and revamping of Nigeria’s economy? And you are busy talking about corruption, playing game with the lives of Nigerians from the issue of Fulani herdsmen to Boko Haram to Jos killings. You said somebody stole, what did he steal?

“Someday, they said the government has spent trillions of naira on social investment scheme and I want to know who are the people they were spending the money on; the Vice President said they are giving N10,000 to small-scale businesses and I asked, is this how they will transform Nigeria? You give somebody N10,000 for business, what type of business will N10,000 start?

“Somebody will have billions and want to take the one belonging to the public while hunger will be killing his people. Look at the type of money they shared during the primaries to the extent that they brought Bureau de Change. They said Buhari is change, but Atiku is bureau de change. They were sharing the money in dollars and it was going out in millions of dollars in Nigeria where hunger is killing people; where you don’t have food to eat.

“If they spend such monies to get the ticket, how do you think that when they get into power they will rule, of course, they will first recover the money they have spent but the worst is that the money was not being shared to the poor,” he lamented.

Speaking further, the prophet described the cost of APC Expression of Interest and Nomination forms as outrageous. According to him, if the leadership of the party had a conscience, they would not have collected N24 million from people to obtain the forms.

“There are some people that sold their land to pay for this form because of the promise they were made. I don’t think these politicians were thinking of heaven that is why they are ready to kill anybody that stands on their way,” he said.

Mbaka said that Atiku may not be able to solve the problems of Nigeria if he emerged victorious. “If anybody is thinking that if Atiku becomes the President of Nigeria things will get better, ‘who born you’ because for this country to be good it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than this country to be good,” he said, urging that Nigerians must do their part to make Nigeria the nation of their dream.

The fiery preacher predicted defeat for the APC but said that there was still an opportunity for change. “There are no people that will develop this country that are not in Nigeria. We have people who will develop this nation, but our President left the same type of people who don’t have the same type of vision around him and everything they do is in your head.

“After you are removed, they will bring people that will flog you because you messed up the opportunities because you didn’t listen to the word of God. You didn’t listen to the man of God you have and you were disobeying him. “The price of disobedience is disgrace,” he declared.

How woman’s sumptuous meal changed her assassin’s mind

How woman’s sumptuous meal changed her assassin’s mind

…I was overfed and had change of heart— hired assassin

By Evelyn Usman

It is not uncommon to find the elderly persons being paraded for various crimes at the Lagos State Police Command headquarters, Ikeja. But in this case, Mrs Gladys Osaigbovo-Omon (60), was not a guest at the command over any criminal matter.

Her case could best be described as the proverbial cat with nine lives as she narrowly escaped being assassinated at her residence in Benin-City, the Edo State Capital, a fortnight ago.

Clad in a buba and wrapper and a pair of red slippers, she sat on a chair with both hands clasped together as she kept shaking her legs slowly.

At a point, she glanced at the two suspected assassins close to her, shook her head in disbelief before lifting it up to the sky and muttered, Osalobua uwese( meaning ‘God, thank you’, in Benin dialect).

When approached, she was too stunned to narrate what brought her from Benin city. All she could mutter in pidgin English was that the stab of a loved one could be so painful when compared to that of a stranger.

As you read this piece, two suspected assassins hired to eliminate the sexagenarian have been arrested by the Police in Lagos while efforts were still on to arrest the alleged mastermind, an Europe Based Nigerian woman.

Surprisingly, the alleged mastermind turned out to be her younger sister while one of the suspected assassins was discovered to be her nephew.

Human trafficking goes awry

The crux of the matter was a case of human trafficking gone awry. Crime Guard gathered that 60-year-old Gladys, being the eldest of her siblings, assisted them in her own little way. One of her siblings, Augusta Osaigbovo, according to her, lived with her for 13 years until she left for Europe.

At a time, Gladys said she begged Augusta, to take one of her daughters, Mercy Omon, overseas, for better life, an offer that was granted.

However, on arriving the United Kingdom, Mercy contacted her family back in Nigeria to inform them that her aunty, Augusta, was a leader of a prostitution ring and had recruited her into prostitution in London.

Strained relationship

But she claimed to have refused to bow to pressures from her aunty to go into prostitution, an action that led to a strained relationship between them.

Along the line, Crime Guard gathered that Mercy was arrested by Police authorities in the UK, for possessing fake documents which were allegedly facilitated by her aunty. She managed to wriggle her way out of trouble after disclosing that her aunty, Augusta, brought her to London with job promises, only to turn out to be something else. Her confession led to Augusta’s subsequent arrest and was thereafter jailed.

•Osaro and Lucky (Osaro Okonoboh ( l) and Luck Oboh )

Assassination move

According to the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, Imohimi Edgal, who paraded the suspected assassins, “When Augusta Osaigbovo finished her jail term, she complained to her sister Gladys, that her daughter, Mercy, whom she brought from the village to help, had ruined her. Believing that her sister was supporting her daughter, she decided to hire the services of assassins to eliminate Gladys

Betrayal

The first person allegedly contacted by Augusta, was her nephew, Osaro Okonoboh (44), whom the sexagenarian kept glancing at, in shock.

In an interview with Osaro, a commercial bus driver who resides in Lagos, he admitted to have been contacted by Augusta to snuff life out of his aunty, Gladys.

He said “ Aunty Gladys is my mother’s eldest sister. Aunty Augusta who stays abroad, my mother and aunty Gladys were born of the same mother. She (Augusta ) called me on phone that she would want me to help her kill aunty Gladys. When I asked why, she said aunty Gladys was the one behind what Mercy did to her abroad. I told her I did not know of any assassin but that I would look for one.

“I contacted Lucky Oboh, who is also a driver, here in Lagos. He also said he would look for someone. He came back and said he had found someone, Igbinedion Ogbevon who demanded N1 million for the job. When I called Augusta to inform her, I told her that the proposed assassin asked for N4.5 million”.

Journey to Benin City

Osaro then gave the job of eliminating Mrs Gladys Osaigbovo- Omon to Igbinedion Ogbevon and Lucky Oboh. But Ogbevon, who also hails from Edo state, insisted on visiting the target’s home, in order to know where she lived and also to study the terrain.

Crime Guard gathered that on July 17, 2018 Osaro, Gladys’ nephew took the suspected hired assassin, Ogbevon on a visit to Gladys’ home in Benin City.

An elated Gladys was said to have welcomed the visitors with a sumptuous meal and drinks, unaware that she was entertaining her assailants.

Miracle food

By the time her visitors announced their departure, she had brought another meal for them and insisted they must eat before hitting the road back to Lagos.

That singular display of kindness and generosity saved Gladys’ life as it endeared her supposed killer’s heart towards her.

In an interview with Crime Guard, Ogbevon, narrated how he changed his mind and turned around to spill the beans that led to the arrest of Osaro and Lucky.

He said: “On our way back after the visit, I asked Osaro why he wanted his aunty killed.  He said that was what he was contracted to do. But in my mind I decided I was not going to do it because of the woman’s kindness, although I didn’t tell Osaro I was opting out. You needed to have seen the way the woman welcomed us and took pains to prepare food for us as if she had been expecting us. I was really overfed.

When I got home, I was troubled and had to open up to my uncle, who advised that I should first go back to the woman and tell her of the plan to kill her and thereafter report to the police. I then went with my uncle to visit mummy ( Gladys) to tell her about the plan by Augusta and Osaro to eliminate her. From there, we informed the Police who advised I played along, until I was given part payment of N490,000. I had to play along so that they would not contact another person”.

At this point, the sexagenarian exclaimed, ‘Osalobua’! ( My God!). Speaking in Pidgin English, she said “when they told me, I could not believe that my own family members would want me dead.

Mrs Gladys Osaigbovo-Omo

‘I don’t know why my sister, who stayed with me for 13 years wanted to do this to me. Had she succeeded nobody would have attributed it to her. Perhaps, she would have attended my burial. But I thank God, she did not succeed.

I thank the Police and every other person that God used to spare my life. My thanks also go to our father, the Oba of Benin who placed a curse on anyone who is tarnishing the image of the ancient city outside the country”.

Covenant Uni Show Of Shame Continues As Student Leaks Intimate Chats With Registrar

Covenant Uni Show Of Shame Continues As Student Leaks Intimate Chats With Registrar

There’s no respite for Covenant University yet as its opened can of worms continues to spill out it’s odoriferous contents on social media.

The latest being the leakage of the secret chats between a female student and the registrar, Dr. Olumuyiwa A. Oludayo, a married man who’s best remembered for the alleged infamous role he played in setting up and unjustly expelling a male student recently.

Concise News had earlier reported that a male student of Covenant University Emmanuel Adooh who was expelled unjustly and consequently sued the school to court, had exposed the registrar Dr. Olumuyiwa A. Oludayo as the architect of his travails.

Screenshots of said chat between the registrar and the female student leaked by twitter user @PrimeKaka_, reveals that the registrar, Dr. Oludayo, was trying to woo the unknown female student for intimacy.

See screenshot of the secret chats between Dr. Oludayo and his crush spanning between March to June 2018 below as posted by @PrimeKaka_ who has since deleted his twitter account after making the revelations:

As at the time of filing this report, Covenant University authorities are yet to issue any official reaction to the seemingly unending allegations of immoral sexual activities between students and staff, frame up, intimidation and victimization going on the church-owned educational institution.

This Man Is The Poorest President In The World, He Lives In A Small Farm House

This Man Is The Poorest President In The World, He Lives In A Small Farm House

“I’m not the poorest president. The poorest is the one who needs a lot to live. My lifestyle is a consequence of my wounds. I’m the son of my history. There have been years when I would have been happy just to have a mattress.”

This is one of the famous quotes from the world’s most humble former president, Jose Mujica who was the President of Uruguay from 2010 to 2015. He is popularly known as the poorest president in the world even though he had left office in 2015 because of his humble lifestyle.

In August this year, 2018, he resigned from the post of senator, which he had held since 2015, when his five-year-term as president had ended.

He said he would not serve out his term until 2020 because as he was “tired after a long journey”. He is  is 83.

Mujica is famous for his charitable act and his willingness to donate 90% of his $12,000 monthly salary to help the poor and to support small entrepreneurs

Even though holding the highest title in the country, Mujica and his wife remained living a very humble life compared to other world leaders during his reign.

He lives in small farmhouse and still drives his old Volkswagen Beetle

Mujica driving his old Volkswagen Beetle by himself

His official residence is only guarded with two police officers and a three-legged dog

The beautiful and glamorous Presidential House that used to be the official residence of past Presidents of Uruguay is now a museum.

Since Mujica decided to live in his own house, he turned the Presidential House into a museum to honour past presidents

Unlike other Presidents and world leaders, Mujica is often criticised for his lack of concern over his appearance and posture.

In spite of this, Mujica does not get distracted with the criticisms and focuses on the country’s more important issues

While many may find him to appear as unfit for a president position, Mujica is not just a random man who got lucky in an election. He was actually a guerrilla fighter for Tupamaros, a left-wing party in Uruguay.

During his time in Tupamaros, Mujica has robbed banks which overcharged the poor, gun clubs and other businesses which were found to be corrupted and involved in embezzling public funds

He was imprisoned twice in 14 years and shot 6 times in a jailbreak attempt but that does not slow him down. He continued to fight corruption in his office as the President of Uruguay.

To him, what matter the most is the people and the country’s well-being is his sole concern. He knows that power and money will only encourage one to be corrupt if they became the only motives as he quoted “Power does not change one’s person; it only shows one’s true self.”

José Mujica has retired from the Senate to spend more time on his farm

Mujica has truly proved that his best interests are always the people of his country and even willing to give up benefits that came with the job when he was the President of Uruguay. Not many leaders can be compared with Mujica and he is definitely one in a million. Perhaps, world leaders can learn a thing or two from Mujica on how to prioritise the public interests over personal gain.

If you admire this president’s guts and life principles, why not share this article with your friends and family!

There was a drama of high interest at the National Convention of the All Progressives Congress in Abuja on Saturday as high profile players on the political landscape of Lagos met.
The National Convention, at the Eagle Square, Abuja, was for the affirmation of President Muhammadu Buhari as the presidential candidate of the party for the 2019 election.

Kwara Approves Employment of 1,850 Teachers

Kwara Approves Employment of 1,850 Teachers

The Kwara State governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, has approved the employment of 1,850 basic and senior secondary school teachers in the state to fill teacher shortages in sciences subjects and create fresh employment in the state.

Ahmed approved the employment following separate requests by the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and the Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TSC), according to a statement by his senior special assistant on Media and Communication, Dr Muyideen Akorede on Wednesday.

The two organisations based their requests on existing teacher shortages in the state, especially in English Language and Science subjects. According to the statement, Governor Ahmed approved the recruitment of 1,500 SUBEB teachers and 350 Senior Secondary School teachers.

The teacher shortages in the state persist despite recent interventions by the state government through its Kwara State Youth Empowerment Program (KWAYEP) and the federal governments NPower Scheme, prompting the state governor to grant the fresh approval for employment. Ahmed also directed SUBEB and TSC to ensure that due process is followed in the recruitment while ensuring spread across the 193 wards in the state.
