Vegas police confirmed to local news outlet Las Vegas Now that they were investigating Brown for battery and theft and that the incident was reported to them at 10.20am on January 2.

Brown posted a now deleted video to his Instagram where he labeled Gutierrez as 'ugly' and denied her claims against him.

Chicken pecks buyer to coma in Asaba

Chicken pecks buyer to coma in Asaba

A fowl on Friday around Konwea Plaza in Asaba, Delta State allegedly pecked a buyer to coma, leaving the crowd who had thronged the scene to catch a glimpse of the incident to scamper for safety.

It was gathered that a big broiler on sale with others by the plaza, pecked the buyer identified as Sunday Ibie on his eyes. The customer, who had wanted to buy the chicken, immediately fell to the ground breathing heavily before he was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba.

The seller identified as Mama Ekene told our correspondent that the buyer had approached her to buy the broiler and was given the price of N4,000 but haggled for N3,000.

She said:

“I am shocked by the incident I was surprised that it pecked man in his right eye as he attempted to tie it. He fell down immediately and I had to raise the alarm for help.”

An eyewitness, Kate Okafor, also said the broiler attacked the buyer when he attempted to tie its legs before taking it away.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mrs. Celestina Kalu, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent, said:

“What baffled everybody was the way and manner the broiler attacked the victim.’’

She added that the seller had been arrested by police and is helping with further investigations.

The spokesperson stated,

“The victim is receiving treatment at the FMC Asaba and he is still in coma. The bird removed part of the flesh in the buyer’s eye and inflicted a deep cut in that part.’’

Sad story of how a Bridegroom was killed by drunk policeman 3 days to his wedding

Sad story of how a Bridegroom was killed by drunk policeman 3 days to his wedding

Sam Belonwu Dim, a Lagos-based businessman, was killed by a drunk police sergeant on Sunday, December 27, at Uruagu Nnewi, during the traditional wedding of the daughter of the in-law of his friend and business associate.

Sam was killed three days to his church wedding, which would have been held last Wednesday, December 30, 2015. If a soothsayer had told him that he would die before the scheduled wedding day, he probably would have reported the seer to the police for investigation.

As Sunday Sun reporter gathered from Chief Dim, Sam was virtually ready for his wedding. As at the time Sunday Sun visited, the cow he bought for the wedding was still tied to a tree in the large family compound. He had distributed the wedding invitation cards to relations, friends and well wishers far and near, hired a live band, concluded arrangements with the clergy and done other things to ensure that the wedding would be colourful and memorable.

With a sorrowful heart and shaky voice, Chief Dim narrated that his son’s best man, Mr Martin Afusi and other friends who came all the way from Ghana had arrived Sam’s home in Osumenyi only to be told that he was dead.

When he spoke with Sunday Sun reporter, Afusi said Sam had actually called him earlier in the day as he and the other friends from Ghana were about to leave for Nigeria, and wished them journey mercies, assuring them that the wedding arrangements were all in order.

Sam arrived Osumenyi, Nnewi to receive the heart-breaking news that his bosom friend and business partner was lying stone-dead in the mortuary.

Recounting what happened on the fateful day, Sam’s father, Chief Dim said he returned from church service and met his late son’s friend washing Sam’s car and at the same time sipping a drink.

Then Sam got a call. As he narrated, the caller reminded his son to attend the traditional wedding of his in-law’s daughter. He said that Sam informed the person, who happened to be one of his business partners identified simply as Eloka, that he was busy with preparations for his wedding and requested that he should be excused.

But Eloka, according Chief Dim, was insistent and pressed on his son to attend the traditional wedding. Sam eventually agreed to show up at the event and requested one of his siblings to accompany him, but the sibling declined. Sam eventually attended the traditional wedding with another friend, Sunday Oguego.

On arrival at the ceremony, Eloka received him and Oguego. As Sam was about to sit down under a canopy set up outside for guests, a mobile police sergeant just pointed his gun at Sam and shot him. The bullet went through his heart and exited from the back.

At the sound of the gunshot, everybody scampered for safety, including Eloka, who invited Sam to the event. It was only Oguego who summoned the courage and began shouting for help when Sam slumped.

As the bullet exited through Sam’s back, it hurt another person, who miraculously survived, and was said to have responded to treatment in a hospital.

Chief Dim has been unrelenting in demanding that the police fish out the sergeant and put on him on trial. Also, he wants the police to properly investigate the circumstances that led to the death of his son.

Chief Dim also said that his family was infuriated that Eloka, who invited his son to the event where he died, took two days to come and tell the deceased family what happened to his friend, who he invited to a wedding.

He said Eloka eventually visited the family on Wednesday, December 30, the day, Sam was supposed to wedded, to condole with the family.

Chief Dim lamented the way police and other security agents were allowed to carry guns freely at ceremonies. He charged the Inspector General of Police to look into this anomaly, querying: “Why should the number of police escorts at many events be more than the number of invited guests?”

He also recounted how the family in 2010 lost one of their illustrious sons, Obiajulu, a businessman, who was kidnapped. Even after the family paid N12million ransom to his abductors, he was still killed.

Since the tragic incident happened, the Sam’s would-be-bride has been inconsolable. At the family home of her late groom, she has been speechless and downcast.

Nigerian man charged in sophisticated email scam in Dallas, faces up to 30 years in prison

Nigerian man charged in sophisticated email scam in Dallas, faces up to 30 years in prison

A Nigerian man living in the U.S. on a student visa faces federal wire fraud charges in connection with a sophisticated email phishing scam targeting businesses.
Amechi Colvis Amuegbunam, 28, of Lagos, Nigeria, was arrested in Baltimore in August and charged with scamming 17 North Texas companies out of more than $600,000 using the technique. He remains in federal custody in Dallas. If convicted, he faces up to 30 years in prison and a fine of up to $1 million.

He is accused of sending emails that looked like forwarded messages from top company executives to employees who had the authority to wire money. Amuegbunam tricked the employees into wiring him money by transposing a couple of letters in the actual company email, authorities said.
The FBI issued an alert earlier this year about the new cyberattack it called the “Business Email Compromise.” The FBI said it is a “growing fraud that is more sophisticated than any similar scam the FBI has seen before.”
Federal officials say more than 7,000 U.S. businesses have been scammed out of a total of about $740 million.

“It’s a prime example of organized crime groups engaging in large-scale, computer-enabled fraud, and the losses are staggering,” said Maxwell Marker, an FBI agent who oversees an organized crime section, in a recent bulletin.

The FBI said it’s the work of organized crime groups from Africa, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

The Dallas investigation began in 2013 when two North Texas companies reported falling victim to the scheme, each losing about $100,000, according to an FBI complaint.
In the case of Luminant Corp., an electric utility company in Dallas, an employee with the authority to wire money received an email from someone who appeared to be a company executive, the complaint said. But the email domain name had two letters transposed. For example, someone created the email with a domain name of lumniant.com.

The duped employee wired $98,550 to a bank account outside Texas.

The FBI subpoenaed information about the email account and learned it was created by someone named Colvis Amue, the complaint said.

Agents determined that person was Amuegbunam and that he scammed another company out of $146,550, according to the complaint. A third company realized the phishing email was fake and did not send the $381,903 requested.

“The Dallas FBI quickly learned that this was a widespread scheme,” the complaint said.

The FBI has identified five other conspirators who live in Nigeria who are subjects of the investigation.

In these scams, “money mules” are employed to accept the initial transfers into their personal bank accounts. They then are told to quickly transfer the money elsewhere, usually to a bank account outside the U.S. The money usually ends up in Asian banks, including those in China and Hong Kong, the FBI alert said.

The criminals have become experts at imitating invoices and accounts, agents say. The fraudulent emails are typically well worded and specific to the type of business being targeted, the FBI says. The phrases, “code to admin expenses” and “urgent wire transfer,” are frequently used.

In one recent case provided by the FBI, a company accountant received an email from her chief executive, who was on vacation outside the country. He asked her to transfer money for a “time-sensitive acquisition” before the day’s end, according to the FBI. The executive said a lawyer would contact her with more information.

The accountant said such requests were not unusual.

The lawyer sent her an email with her CEO’s signature on a letter of authorization with the company’s seal that was attached. The email gave her instructions to wire more than $737,000 to a bank in China.

The accountant learned about the scam when the CEO called the next day, saying he knew nothing about the wire transfer request.
The FBI said criminal groups usually target businesses that have foreign suppliers or regularly make wire transfer payments.

“They have excellent tradecraft, and they do their homework,” Marker said. “The days of these emails having horrible grammar and being easily identified are largely behind us.”

Mexico mayor shot dead less than a day after taking office

Mexico mayor shot dead less than a day after taking office

The mayor of a city south of Mexico's capital was shot to death on Saturday, less than a day after taking office, officials said.

Gunmen opened fire on Mayor Gisela Mota at her house in the city of Temixco, said the government of Morelos state, where Temixco is located.

Two presumed assailants were killed and three others detained following a pursuit, said Morelos security commissioner Jesus Alberto Capella. He said the suspects fired on federal police and soldiers from a vehicle.

On his Twitter account, Morelos Gov. Graco Ramirez attributed Mota's killing to organized crime, without citing a particular drug cartel or gang. Cartels seeking to control communities and towns have often targeted local officials and mayors in Mexico.

Mota's leftist Democratic Revolution Party released a statement describing her as

"a strong and brave woman who on taking office as mayor, declared that her fight against crime would be frontal and direct."

Temixco is a city of about 100,000 people neighboring Cuernavaca, a resort and industrial city which has been suffering kidnappings and extortion linked to organized crime groups. Though Cuernavaca is the capital of Morelos, Temixco is the seat of several state institutions including the Public Security Commission, which coordinates state and local police forces. Morelos also neighbors drug cartel-plagued Guerrero state.

Mota, who had been a federal congresswoman, was sworn into office on New Year's Day. She was killed the following day.

Morelos Gov. Ramirez vowed there "would be no impunity" in her killing and promised that state officials would not cede to what he described as a "challenge from criminals."

Federal and state forces are deployed in Cuernavaca and municipalities near the Guerrero state border in what is called operation "Delta."

Capella did not provide more details about the attack on Mota, but said that when the suspects were detained, authorities found a 9-millimeter gun, an Uzi, ski masks and an SUV with Mexico State license plates.

Morelos Attorney General Javier Perez Duron said the detained suspects have been tied to other crimes, but declined to provide more details.

Africa's biggest Jesus statue unveiled in Nigeria

Africa's biggest Jesus statue unveiled in Nigeria

Nigeria on Friday unveiled a nine-metre tall statue of Jesus Christ carved from white marble, thought to be the biggest of its kind in Africa.

Standing barefoot with arms outstretched, the "Jesus de Greatest" statue weighs in at 40 tonnes.

More than 100 priests and hundreds of Catholic worshippers attended the nine-metre (30-foot) statue's official unveiling in the village of Abajah in southeastern Nigeria.

The statute was commissioned by Obinna Onuoha, a local businessman who hired a Chinese company to carve it. It was placed in the grounds of a 2000-capacity church that he built in 2012.

In his homily at a Mass before unveiling the statue, presiding bishop Augustine Tochukwu Okwuoma said it is a "very great symbol of faith" for Catholic worshippers and passers-by alike and remind them of the importance of Jesus Christ," The presiding Bishop blessed the statue after mass.

The cost of the statue has not been revealed.

The 43-year-old boss of an oil and gas service company timed the statue's unveiling to coincide with his parents' 50th wedding anniversary.

He said the idea of building a giant statue of Jesus came to him in a dream nearly 20 years ago.

And when his 68-year-old mother fell seriously ill a few years ago, she made him promise that he would build a church if she survived.

Man U.2-1 Swansea: United finally win in spectacular style after 8games (EPL Round up)

Man U.2-1 Swansea: United finally win in spectacular style after 8games (EPL Round up)

The English premier league today recorded morale boosting wins for Arsenal and Manchester United as they both won on home turf. The most significant win was that of Manchester United with van Gaal unable to win against Swansea since taking over the reins at Old Trafford. Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney scored the goals against a very dogged Swansea side who fought till the last minute ensuring United's title push suffered no more incongruity.

United played with such swashbuckling especially in the first-half that the eventual scoreline of 2-1 looked like an unfair scoreline as Martial, Mata, Young, Schweinsteiger and Wayne Rooney tormented the Swans defense with so much tempo, pace and tactical foreplay that Louis van Gaal will surely be proud followings weeks of rumours of his sack.

Former manager Sir Alex Ferguson was sat in the stands and could be seen smiling as Old Trafford came alive with such an encouraging performance.

Meanwhile WestHam defeated Liverpool 2-0, Arsenal won Newcastle 2-0 while Leicester City and Bournemouth played out a draw.Manchester City defeated Watford 2-1 while Norwich beat Southampton by a lone goal.

HON. OLULADE LUNCHEON WITH ELENIYAN AMBASSADORS by Oluomo Segun Olulade

During the last Elections, while going round Primary Schools donating Books to Pupils as a form of support to their Parents, I pledged at every School that, I will host every Pupli that comes top (1st - 3rd) in the Classes to a Lunch before the year runs out, so as a Man of honour and integrity, I ensure that all my words and promises are kept to at all times.in fulfillment of that, I hosted about 324 (Three Hundred and Twenty Four) successful Pupils to a Lunch at my Ejinrin Residence.

The highlight of the occassion was when I along with my ever supportive wife Engr. Olulade Fowora Mosunmola and other Guests personally served the Kids food as a form of telling them to work harder.

The Pupils were very happy and elated as they got more than they expected. As they each got a Letter of Commendation and School Bags full of goodies. The Pupils were so excited as they responds to the slogan Eleniyan Ambassadors.... Born to be Great.

The Pupils catch fun throughtout the event, as they played on Bouncing Castle, Dancing Competitions, Quiz and other exciting activities. Also, Teachers also took part in the activities of the day.

The occassion was really brought to life with inspirational and motivational talk by the Royal Father of the Day - HRM. Reekado really needs that SUV

My issue with the Mavins, If we look at this from
another angle, Reekado needs the car more
than Lil kesh since Olamide already bought
Kesh a black Range Rover sport around
March, 2015.

Instead of Jazzy to buy his
“children’ (as he refers to his label mates) a
car, he will be giving out free recharge card
on twitter to buy peoples heart.

At least
Reekado, Korede and Di’ja (long throat) will stop going
around lagos with Cabs.

It should be of note
that Davido for see this coming in one of his tweet which
he tweeted it some months back that Lil
Kesh should pull a “Kanye” on Headies if he
does not win. Kesh was probably too timid
so his oga OluwaKanye Olamide did the
dirty job and refered to that as “Fighting for
the poor boy”
That's Lil Mesh with his Range Rover sport. You have the hit tracks better Reekado. So double tuale

Robbers nabbed after they broke into Ondo Bank and met an empty vault (Photo)

Robbers nabbed after they broke into Ondo Bank and met an empty vault (Photo)

Four suspected armed robbers who were alleged to be members of a gang who broke into a branch of an old generation bank in Ilututu area of Ondo State, on Christmas eve, have said that they were shocked when they opened the bank’s vault and discovered that it was empty.

The suspects identified as Ebibo Winoh, Michael Mipera, Thankgod Sugha and Idowu Sobijoh, who were rounded up last weekend, by operatives of the Inspector General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team (SIRT) in Ondo State, were said to have broken into the bank through the aid of a security guard, who had worked with the bank.

It was gathered that the guard, who was sacked last year, was said to have approached a member of the gang, Michael Mipera, a native of Ajapa in Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State, with the idea of robbing the bank, as there was less security around the bank at night. Police investigation disclosed that Mipera, after conducting his own survey around the bank, invited two of his friends, Thankgod Sugha and Ebibo Winoh, from his hometown to Ilututu and rented an apartment for them.

He was also said to have invited six militants based at a camp in Ijegemo-Isheri Oshun, Lagos State, headed by one TK, a notorious of pipeline vandal and bank robber. Their other members from Lagos, which was led by one Bright, was said to have supplied the gang with two AK 47 rifles and additional expertise on how to break into bank.

At the police station during interrogation, the suspected leader of the gang, Micheal said that they monitored the bank for weeks before the struck.

“After the bank’s former security man gave us information, we rented a room close to the police station in the community. We found a petty job, as a form of distraction while we monitored the activities of the police and that of the bank. We discovered that at night, there is no private security official or policeman guarding the bank. We also discovered that the police station was not active and cannot easily withstand us if we are heavily armed.

As soon as the experts from Ikorodu arrived, we agreed to strike on Christmas eve because everyone is supposed to be busy preparing for Christmas.
“We entered the bank easily and broke into the vault. We got the shock of our lives when we discovered that it was empty. It was when we understood why there was no security man in the bank. Our matter got worse when we were arrested the next day by policemen. I am begging for mercy because we did not succeed. There is no money to return rather we are looking for how to raise money to pay back those we hired from Lagos.

The militant among the gang, Sobijoh claimed that he had never participated in robbery but was lured into it after their pipeline operation was disrupted by soldiers at Ijegemo in Ogun State. According to him,

“I have never got myself involved in any bank robbery before, this was my first attempt and it wasn’t completely my intention. It was some soldiers who stopped our operation at Ijegemo that forced me into it. The soldiers were demanding that we pay them N5million before we will resume operation. We offered them N3million but they refused. Life became so difficult without money and we needed to survive. Luckily, Bright got a call from Mipera about the Ilututu bank operation and he mobilized six of us to go for the operation. I didn’t get to Ilututu on time because I had to travel down to Ondo from Lagos. I was informed that the operation was successful but they didn’t get any money from the bank. Unfortunately, I was arrested on my way back to my village in Ajapa,” he narrated.

Donjazzy, Olamide and the Headies saga - Charles Novia pens down his thoughts

Donjazzy, Olamide and the Headies saga - Charles Novia pens down his thoughts

DON JAZZY, OLAMIDE AND THE ‘HYUNDAI SKELEMBA’-TAKING IT TO A BANK as written by Charles Novia...enjoy!

The Headies 2015 ( which ironically held on the first day of 2016) was an anti-climax after that.
And perhaps the public tantrums of both Don Jazzy and Olamide were the highlights of what was before then an above average telecast with glaring lapses which could have been remedied with more precision.
When the artistes nominated in the ‘Next Rated..’ category were shown in a mini-documentary somewhere in the show, taking photo-ops in the Hyundai SUV and pleading for votes from their fans so as to win the prize, I told myself after seeing the earnest expectations on their faces that this category would surely be competitive but would have some bad blood drawn thereafter.
The visuals of the four nominated acts seated side-by-side in the hall thereafter, being interviewed by the Hip TV Presenter just before the category was announced also showed an unease amongst them even if they were trying to put up aloof facades.
Korede Bello, Kiss Daniel, L’il Kesh and Reekado Banks. Four nominees in perhaps the ‘closest-to-call’ category in The Headies ever. Looking at the list, they each had hits in 2015. But in my personal opinion ( which I’m entitled to, innit?) I would have pruned the list at the final stage to just two; Korede Bello and Kiss Daniel.

‘Godwin’ was probably the biggest song of 2015, transcending both the secular and gospel charts and finding resonance all across Africa. How could such a song not get the artiste a winner in that category? On the other hand, ‘Woju’ by Kiss Daniel was another monster hit in 2015 which certainly would have won him that prize without raising eyebrows.

With due respect to Reekado Banks, I don’t think his ‘ Katapot’ track was that much of a phenomenal hit in 2015 but it was a good track. And L’il Kesh too, who was touted by Olamide as having back to back hits in 2015 ( by his reckoning) stood a chance as well but I would say a misfit of personal branding by the YBNL team for Kesh might have added to his loss in that category. Club and dance hits are different from acclaimed general hits when it comes to the brass tacks and ‘Gbese Re’ was huge on the club and dance circuits but can’t be termed a huge hit compared to Korede’s and Kiss’

Thus, when Reekado won, I was one of the surprised folks watching on television. Obviously this didn’t go down well with Olamide, on whose label Kesh is signed on to and he went on a profane and perhaps alcohol-induced rant onstage a few minutes later, calling out the organisers and storming off the stage thereafter.

Don Jazzy, the acclaimed Producer, who is the Head Huncho at Mavin Records which has Reekado as one of its acts, picked up the gauntlet a few minutes after while receiving his Lifetime Achievement Award and called out Olamide. He asked Olamide to come take the car won by Reekado and stormed out of the awards with his crew.
Olamide later went on twitter to rant more expletives on Don Jazzy.

Both artistes were wrong on many fronts. For Olamide, his open inebriation on stage calls for much questioning of his public conduct when he’s not in performance mode. As he boasts in his songs, he might have packed halls and swayed trends in the past year but trying a Kanye West onstage at The Headies was ill-advised. One should ask this question ( which I will also throw at Don Jazzy later as well) that if L’il Kesh had back to back hits as Olamide claimed, why didn’t YBNL deem it fit to buy him a car ( if he hasn’t any) all these months?

And Don Jazzy too should have stuffed it when he said that he had told Korede and Reekado not to bother themselves about the car if they didn’t win because he would buy them a car. Really? Did he mean to tell us that with all the shows and endorsements both acts had last year under his management, there wasn’t any ‘change’ left to buy his acts cars?
If that’s the case, something is wrong somewhere.

Don Jazzy screwed up though by calling out Olamide in his speech especially as Olamide never mentioned his name. But to a discerning mind, it seems those two had festering issues before last night and that incident was the last straw.
Mutual discontent and petty misgivings are common in the entertainment industry. I am never fooled by put-on smiles and show of camaderie most times by artistes as they are human like everyone else. What sets off animousities are usually a struggle for a space on top; a definition of ambitious egos or just plain loathing for petty reasons.

The struggle and not the hustle is what is real. Territorial dominance and egotistical relevance.
The major beneficiary from all this, in spite of the furore over the winner, is Hyundai. The brand now has more exposure than it bargained for and everyone would remember the brand for months to come. No publicity is bad at all in this regard for them.

To think that Don Jazzy and Olamide did a collabo a couple of years back and an anaemic one too, in my opinion. A song which didn’t make sense and was soon forgotten as soon as it came out.

With the storm over this award and the degenerative posibilities it portends, one can only suggest to Hyundai to come out with a new model inspired by this.
And calling that model ‘Hyundai Skelemba’ won’t be a bad idea.
The sales might just be something the company can ‘bank’ on.

We will be impartial in Davido’s child abduction case – NAPTIP opens up on how the case will be handled

We will be impartial in Davido’s child abduction case – NAPTIP opens up on how the case will be handled

Davido and Sophie Momodu

The drama between pop sensation, Davido, and the estranged mother of his daughter, Sophia Momodu, took a new dimension earlier in the week when the latter wrote a letter of petition against the musician through her lawyer, Mr. Gbolaga Ajayi.

Ajayi had while seeking protection for the rights of his client, petitioned the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons because the case borders on child abduction and trafficking.

When Saturday Beats contacted the Lagos State Zonal Commander of the agency, Mr. Joseph Famakin, he said that NAPTIP would be impartial as it proceeds with investigation into the matter.

“The case was reported to us on Wednesday and we have already commenced investigations. That is the only thing I can say for now. We are known for doing a diligent job irrespective of who is involved.

“For now, I cannot say anything about the case because we have just sent out invitations to the parties involved. I have neither seen nor interviewed any of them so for now I cannot really say much. All I can say is that we have commenced a full scale investigation into the matter after we received the petition on Wednesday evening.

“It is when we listen to all parties involved that we would establish if there was a case of human trafficking or not. There have been no facts presented to me other than the petition I received. The people who presented the petition would make a statement, likewise the other party involved then we would be able to come to an objective conclusion. We cannot presuppose.

“I cannot assume what would happen if they refuse to honour our invitation but when we get to the bridge, we would cross it. When we start the investigation, you would be informed but at this stage, we have just received the petition and we just commenced,” he said.

However, when Mr. Ajayi, Sophia’s lawyer, was contacted by Saturday Beats, he corroborated Famakin’s position before giving an insight into the matter.

“This case is a novel one that is open to different dimensions in my understanding. There was abduction from the story that I was told. The lady was tricked to go to a house supposedly for custodian purpose but when she got there, the baby was taken from her and she was thrown out by Davido’s sister. That looks like a case of abduction because the young woman forcefully took a baby that wasn’t hers.

“The second part is the attempt to take the baby out of the country. As soon as the immigration officers at the airport asked who the mother of the baby was, Miss Ashley Adeleke, raised her hand up that she was the mother. Immediately, her passports were taken from her and she was asked some questions but because of the crowded nature of our airport, she was able to abscond from the place with the baby. As it is now, the baby is still in her custody. The lady tried taking the child out of the country without the knowledge and consent of the mother. That wasn’t the first time such would be happening. That, in my understanding, is trafficking,” the lawyer said.

Speaking further, Ajayi disclosed that his clients were not interested in making a case but want peace for Sophia and her daughter, Imade. According to him, the whole saga had thrown the young lady in a psychological mess.

“Our primary concern is that the baby be returned to the mother but if the agency is able to establish that Davido abducted the child, then it could either lead to a custodian sentence. The fact before the court would determine what sentence he gets. But there would be conviction before there can be a sentence. I cannot say what the sentence would be,” he said.

SAD! Saudi Arabia executes popular cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr

SAD! Saudi Arabia executes popular cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr

Saudi Arabia has announced it had executed 47 prisoners convicted of terrorism charges, including al-Qaeda detainees and a prominent Shia cleric who rallied protests against the government.

The execution of Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr is expected to deepen discontent among Saudi Arabia's Shia minority and heighten sectarian tensions across the region.

Meanwhile, the execution of al-Qaeda militants convicted over deadly bombings and shootings in Saudi Arabia raised concerns over revenge attacks. The extremist group's branch in Yemen, known as al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, threatened violence against Saudi.

They vowed to hit back at the country's security forces if they carried out executions of their members.

REACTION
Saudi Arabia's top cleric Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Sheikh said the executions were carried out in line with Islamic law and the need to safeguard the kingdom's security. He described the executions as a "mercy to the prisoners" because it would save them from committing more evil acts and prevent chaos.

Influential figures condemn execution
Respected Shia figures and groups across the region were swift to condemn al-Nimr's execution, with Saudi Arabia's regional rival Iran describing it as "irresponsible."

In Lebanon, a top Shia cleric condemned al-Nimr's execution, describing it as "a grave mistake that could have been avoided with a royal amnesty that would have helped reduce sectarian tensions in the region."

157 executions in 2015
Al-Nimr's brother told the AP by telephone that the executions came as a "big shock" because "we thought the authorities could adopt a political approach to settle matters without bloodshed."

Mohammed's son Ali, the cleric's nephew, is also facing execution, but his name was not among the list.

Saudi Arabia carried out at least 157 executions in 2015, with beheadings reaching their highest level in the kingdom in two decades, according to several advocacy groups that monitor the death penalty.
