'You Had Only One Job, You Have Failed Us, Resign Now' - Nigerians Lambast INEC Chairman

'You Had Only One Job, You Have Failed Us, Resign Now' - Nigerians Lambast INEC Chairman

2019 Elections

Follow

A few hours ago, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, announced the postponement of the Presidential and National Assembly elections scheduled for today February 16th to next Saturday February 23 2019, while State Governorship and House of Assembly elections will now hold on Saturday March 9.

Nigerians are reacting to this announcement made by Chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu and many are calling for his resignation.

See all the reactions below.

@ayosogunro,'*6 months to #NigeriaDecides2019*INEC: We're ready for this *3 months*INEC: We're ready *1 month* INEC: We're ready *2 weeks*INEC: Trust us, we're ok *1 week*INEC: Ready *3 days*INEC: Ready *2 days*INEC: Ready *1 day*INEC: Wait! We're not ready! Sorry.

@gidimeister,'INEC, with its ₦189 billion budget and four years to prepare, managed to behave no differently from a Nigerian tailor who collects ₦15,000 for your wedding outfit but switches off his phone on the day he is supposed to deliver. It is the exact same behaviour.

@afrispheric,'INEC said logistic "problems" forced them to postpone the elections. Guess who is in charge (chairman) of logistics in INEC? Amina Zakari, Buhari's relative. Nothing happens by accident under the Buhari admin...

@HenshawKate,'" INEC has ONE single major primary RESPONSIBILITY. ONE single deliverable. 4 YEARS to plan. Yet.....failure is what one gets"

@SirLibrai,'INEC is scamming all of you. CBN has the best logistics network of any government agency in Nigeria. Once CBN transports anything,  It gets there. So this brouhaha about logistics in bullshit. There are 38 CBN offices in Nigeria and I’m sure all of them have these materials

@segalink,'It is our socio-Political culture to always have someone to punish or hate when things don’t go right. I will not join the mob as always and will stand by the truth. It could have been worse. Hold the INEC chair responsible with understanding. He is accountable no doubt.

@JoeyAkan,'"I stand with INEC!" Of course, you do. You are a Nigerian. You have been conditioned to stand with "anyhowness," irrespective of any situation. After all, you people stand with rapist and pedophiles. Keep standing, until the same country breaks your leg. Standing committee.

@tutuofPH,'Move around today with your PVCs oh so that if INEC changes their mind, we’ll also be ready since we all want to be mad in this country. #2019Elections

14 things around the house that could kill you

14 things around the house that could kill you

Keep pets, children top of mind when considering safety of your home

Pexels photo

It sounds dramatic, doesn't it? "Things around the house that could kill you." But it's a real possibility -- facing a danger in your home, especially considering how much time we spend in and around our houses. And oftentimes, these dangers might seem obvious if you're an adult who lives alone, with a spouse or with an adult roommate. But if you're baby-proofing, for example, or you just got a dog, there are some items on this list that you'll want to think twice about to make sure your home is a safe environment for all.

So with the goal of informing you and not scaring you, let's dive in.

1.) Your dryer

Pexels photo

If you don’t clean your dryer vent and it gets clogged, that situation can lead to several serious problems. We'll elaborate: If you have a gas dryer and a clog, you run the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning, said Jason Kapica, the president of Dryer Vent Wizard, a company in Metro Detroit. Ready for another scary tidbit? Kapica said if he and his team spots burnt lint in the dryer, that often means the homeowner likely already had a dryer fire, but it just didn’t get out of control. You don’t want to delay fixing the dryer in a case like that. Also worth noting: We’re not just talking about the lint trap that many homeowners clean out after each load of laundry. That trap only catches small amount of the lint floating down inside dryer, Kapica said. You want to make sure you’re getting your dryer cleaned regularly, by professionals -- at minimum, every 24 months, Kapica recommended.

One final thing: In the springtime, for example, birds love to nest in dryer vents. Often, Kapica and his employees are forced to remove these nests because they obstruct the vent at the home. From there, they need to sanitize the line because bird feces can cause histoplasmosis, which might spread to the homeowners and, in some cases, can be deadly. Similarly, other small animals are known to cause problems as well. Rodents can climb into the dryer vent from the outside, and they can carry hantavirus, which is also fatal in some cases.

2.) Your bathroom

Pexels photo

Cleaning the bathroom: At a minimum, it's an annoying chore. Can we all agree on that?

But at its worst, cleaning the bathroom can be really dangerous if you're not aware of how your products work. Here's the deal: Mixing bleach with other common household cleaners can create toxic gases that you certainly don't want to inhale. So you need to play it safe: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends first washing bathroom surfaces with soap and warm, clean water to remove dirt and debris. Next, you'll sanitize those surfaces with household bleach.

Before you do so, read up and follow the safety instructions on any additional products you use. Here are some of the most important safety guidelines when working with sanitizing products: Never mix bleach with ammonia or any other cleaner; wear rubber or other non-porous boots, gloves and eye protection and try not to breathe in the fumes.

Also, if you're using the products indoors, open windows and doors to allow fresh air in.

3.) Your (admittedly mild) pain relievers

Pexels photo

It's easy to find stories in the headlines nearly every day about pills, medication abuse, opioids, addiction, you name it. But -- did you know that acetaminophen (which often goes by its brand name, Tylenol) can be dangerous, too, if taken improperly? About 500 people die every year related to acetaminophen overdoses, according to a Clinical Liver Disease report. Large amounts of acetaminophen can overwhelm the liver and cause liver damage, which is why experts say you shouldn't have more than 3,000 mg per day.

4.) Drinking water

Pexels photo

Ever heard of hyponatremia? It’s a fancy word for "water intoxication," and it happens when you drink too much water. It seems people everywhere are constantly reminding us to hydrate more, more, more. So how in the world does overhydration even happen?

Well, it all comes down to sodium levels. The sodium in our body has the job of balancing fluids in and around the cells, according to WebMD. Drinking too much water can cause an imbalance, forcing the liquid to move from your blood to inside your cells, making them swell. Swelling in the brain can be serious and sometimes fatal. It can also trigger seizures and coma. In addition, your kidneys filter everything you drink and make sure the fluid levels in your bloodstream stay balanced. When you drink too much water, it makes your kidneys work overtime, leaving your body stressed and fatigued.

So, how much water is too much? To be clear, it would take a lot (times a lot) for someone to suffer from water intoxication. We’re talking about an intake of gallons of water. The fatal cases are isolated and extremely rare. Still, we thought it was worth a mention! Maybe you can at least impress your friends with all this newfound knowledge.

5.) Your bathtub

Pexels photo

This could be a whole separate report, or series of reports, all on its own: how dangerous drowning is. In fact, in the U.S., drowning is the leading cause of death from unintentional injury for children younger than 4, according to the CDC. As scary as it is to pose this question, we'll ask it: Have you considered your bathtub? Often, when people think of drowning, they think of pools, lakes and the ocean. But the very spot where you bathe your kids quite regularly can be just as deadly.

Don't step out of the room even for a moment, and don't let your judgment slide, even if your child is a little older. Anyone can slip, fall and go under. This can lead to serious injury as well.

6.) House plants

Pexels photo

Right, we know you're not going to eat them. And yes, if they're sitting up high on a windowsill, then perhaps these plants are perfectly safe. But it's important to know that many can be poisonous when ingested -- especially by a child or pet. Here are some houseplants that are known to be toxic, according to thenest.com:

Amaryllis

Azalea

Bird of Paradise

Creeping Charlie (ground ivy)

Crown of thorns

Dieffenbachia

Hydrangea

Iris

Ivy (English, needlepoint and ripple)

Philodendron

If your kids are young, you're better safe than sorry: Keep these plants out of the house, experts say.

7.) Extension cords

Pexels photo

The CDC says these cords cause more than 3,300 residential fires each year, according to published reports. The cords become problematic when they're misused or they overload the system, so experts advise using them on a temporary basis only, instead of filling them up with plugs at all times.

8.) Anything that leads to carbon monoxide poisoning

Pexels photo

As stated above, this includes your dryer, if it's not cleaned properly on a semi-regular basis. Also, think about your other appliances: a gas oven, a gas range or even your car or any possible space heaters (which are dangerous for a number of reasons).

Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless gas that causes sudden illness or death. It often goes undetected until it's too late. The best thing you can do for your home is buy a CO detector, or several, and place that detector somewhere strategic -- the kitchen, for example, or near the laundry room. The CDC says carbon monoxide poisoning is the leading cause of poisoning deaths.

9.) Your air-conditioner

Getty Images

A leaking air-conditioning unit can lead to refrigerant poisoning, and that causes, in some instances, heart palpitations and seizures -- and it can cut off oxygen to your lungs and cells, which is fatal. It’s not too likely that you’d be poisoned by your unit at home, unless of course you’re an appliance repair person and you do this kind of work professionally. Still, experts say that if your AC is acting up, you need to call a company or an expert. Don’t try to DIY when it comes to this type of project.

10.) Any large TVs or heavy furniture

Pexels photo

Like several other items on this list, it's not you we have in mind when it comes to heavy furniture.

But again, it's a whole new ballgame if you have babies, toddlers or kids. Mount these types of items to a wall if you're even a little concerned that they could come down. You can buy a cheap, easy-to-use kit at almost any hardware store.

11.) Button batteries

Photo: www.capt.org.uk

Button batteries are often found in children’s toys, remote controls, watches and key fobs. It's safe to say you probably have at least one in your home. Did you know how dangerous these can be? If one is ingested, sometimes a child won't even show symptoms, and a reaction can happen in as little as two hours. Beyond the choking hazard, it’s possible the battery can corrode inside a body, resulting in internal bleeding from the burning caused by the battery mixing with bodily fluids.

“If a button battery, particularly a lithium button battery, gets stuck in the throat or gullet, energy from the battery can react with saliva to make the body create caustic soda," the website for the Child Accident Prevention Trust says. "This is the same chemical used to unblock drains. This can burn a hole through the throat and can lead to serious internal bleeding and death. The reaction can happen in as little as two hours.” Learn more about button batteries and how to protect your home here.

12.) Your Christmas tree

Pexels photo

If you get a real Christmas tree (as opposed to an artificial kind that you can store in a box each year), you'll want to place yours far away from radiators, fireplaces and other heat sources, and secure it to your ceiling using guy wire — it's practically invisible and recommended by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, according to Redbook Magazine.

And if you do opt for a fake tree, experts say to look for one labeled "fire retardant" and never put electric lights on a metallic tree.

These trees can pose major fire risks.

13.) Lead paint

Pexels photo

Here's the deal: Lead-based paint is not harmful so long as it's not chipped or cracking. So if you possibly have some in your home -- and you just might if that home was built before 1978 -- it's not a problem if the paint is in good condition.

However, if you're renovating or the paint is peeling, this is when things can get dangerous. Lead-based paint can be toxic if it's ingested. And exposure to lead is dangerous for everyone, but especially for pregnant women and children.

If you suspect you have lead-based paint, you can get it inspected. Removing the paint is a job best left to professionals.

14.) Mold

Getty Image

Mold: These invisible spores are actually all around us in the air, but that isn't a health concern on its own. The spores need moisture to grow into problematic mold, as we know it. But when that happens, mold can lead to some health issues, including allergic reactions and asthma attacks. Also, some molds produce toxic substances called mycotoxins.

Mycotoxins have been linked to nausea, immune system suppression, liver damage, central nervous system damage and cancer, health experts say.

So if you find mold in your house, it's best to move quickly. Figure out what's causing it -- usually, it's something like a leak or a bathroom that's not properly ventilated. To clean the mold, the EPA recommends scrubbing it off hard surfaces with detergent or bleach and water and letting the area dry completely. You might even want to wear safety gear, such as long gloves and goggles. If the job involves more than 10 square feet of mold, you'll want to hire a professional for the removal process.

UPDATE: Church Worker At BBNaija Audition Has Been Sanctioned

UPDATE: Church Worker At BBNaija Audition Has Been Sanctioned

In light of the current craze that has heralded the upcoming BBNaija reality show for the year 2019, a correspondent took to interviewing some people at the Lagos audition ground. Several startling details were garnered from Nigerian youths who were aspiring to be in the house.

One of the most shocking comments was one gotten from a Nigerian lady who claimed she is a worker of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). The lady particularly said that she was ready to do anything, no matter how nasty, to be a BBNaija housemate and win the prize money of N45m. RCCG worker who identified herself as Ruth Babs claimed that she had even told members of the church about her earnest desire to win BBNaija’s money.

Ruth Babs has therefore been called to order by her church. The following letter attached to this video is currently circulating on social media. How true is it? This was gotten from a Regional/provincial church admin. Read the statement below:

“Good day Brethren, Pls be informed that the identity of our beloved worker who was interviewed at big brother audition has been revealed. She’s an usher in one of RCCG Provinces.

She has been called for questioning and counselling. Also an arrangement is being made for her to go back to believer’s class again according to our source. She’s 30yrs. Let’s continue to pray for our members.

The bawdy statements made by this lady had attracted quite a lot of comments from many people. One of those who have weighed in on the issue is popular OAP Daddy Freeze. The religious pundit took to his page to repost the video in which the RCCG worker who identified herself as Ruth Babs claimed that she had even told members of the church about her earnest desire to win BBNaija’s money.

He then went ahead to give his own comment on the issue. According to Daddy Freeze, he cannot totally blame Ruth and he is not surprised that such statements were being made by her. For him, the church pastors are to blame for this as they have also proven over time that they can do anything for money as well.

The on air personality was especially surprised at the lady’s exclamation when she heard that the prize money for the 2019 episode of the BBNaija reality show was N45m. He expressed his dismay at her reaction. Several people could not also hide their shock at the lady’s statements. Being a church worker at RCCG, they had not expected such remarks from her. This caused them to react in startling manners.

Why You Should Not Use Two Sittings Result For JAMB 2019 - Education

Why You Should Not Use Two Sittings Result For JAMB 2019 - Education - Nairaland

ADMISSIONTIPZ

I know alot of aspirants are about to use two sittings for JAMB 2019 registration, I am not writing this blog post to discourage you. I just want to enlighten you on why you should not use two sittings result.
If you are first timer of writing JAMB exam, you might not know what i meant by "Two sittings result ", i will explain before going into why i think two sitting results are not advisable.

WHAT IS TWO SITTINGS RESULT

Two sitting result is like combining two results of different exams because you probably didn't have good grade in the subject you need. For example, Ade wrote WAEC in 2015 and he failed Mathematics which is a compulsory subject, then he will have to re-sit for another o'level exam (WAEC, NECO,GCE) , if he then fail English Language but pass Mathematics , then he will combine both of them together . As simple as that!!!
Now going into the reasons why two sittings is not advisable;

UNABLE TO APPLY FOR COMPETITIVE COURSES

This is the plain truth, you won't be able to apply for competitive courses like medicine, law, engineering and so on. Apart from the number of candidates that usually choose the course, the school you choosed might also reject two sittings for such courses. For example, In UI, you can't apply for medicine with two sittings result, your admission will be terminated during the clearance immediately they know you are using two sittings result.

DIFFICULTY TO GAIN ADMISSION INTO TOP UNIVERSITIES IN NIGERIA

You know top universities like UNILAG, UI, OAU, it might be a little difficult to apply and finally gain admission into them because of the high number of candidates that usually choose them.

IT LIMITS YOUR OPTIONS

As you should know that a candidate with one sitting result can choose any school or course, such opportunity is not available for those with two sittings result. At this point , JAMB Brochures should be your best friend because it will show you the schools and courses you can apply for.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO

You can kindly register for the ongoing WAEC registration and read hard to pass all required subjects.
But if you cant afford to register again, you can go on to apply because alot of candidates have been admitted despite using two sittings result, you should just make sure you check the JAMB brochures very well before you select any school or course.

Ballon d’Or winner, Modric criticises Ronaldo, Messi over gala snub

Ballon d’Or winner, Modric criticises Ronaldo, Messi over gala snub

Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric has criticised Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi for choosing not to attend this month’s ceremony where he was given the award.

He said their decision was unfair to fellow players and voters.

Croatian captain Modric broke Messi and Ronaldo’s decade-long stranglehold on the prestigious prize last month.

He said in a newspaper interview on Saturday the pair’s absence from the gala in Paris on Dec. 3 did not make sense.

“I cannot speak about why someone didn’t turn up at an award ceremony, it’s their choice. It doesn’t make sense, does it?

“It seems these votes and awards are only significant when they win,” the Real Madrid midfielder told Croatian newspaper Sportske Novosti.

“It’s unfair to fellow players and voters who have nominated them in the past 10 years, as well as to football and the fans. However, people will act the way they think they should.”

Juventus forward Ronaldo came second in the 2018 Ballon d’Or vote behind his old Real team-mate Modric, while Messi was fifth.

It was a ranking which met with some consternation at both the Argentine’s club FC Barcelona and in the Catalan media.

Modric lifted a third successive UEFA Champions League title with Real last season and led Croatia to a first-ever FIFA World Cup final.

But he said Ronaldo and Messi were still the best two players around, even as he added that it did not mean they should always be named best player each season.

“In my opinion, things are very simple: Ronaldo and Messi are phenomenons who have been dominant in the past 10 years or so. They’ve been in a league of their own,” Modric said.

“But we are talking about a season’s accomplishments here and I guess it means something that votes by national team coaches, managers, football legends, journalists and fellow players have produced the same results.”

The Croatian also offered the sarcastic suggestion: “If the debate is going to be about how good a particular player is, the only course of action is to award all trophies to Messi and Ronaldo until they retire and scrap the voting.”

Scooper Spirituality: Did God Approve For Solomon To Marry Many?

Scooper Spirituality: Did God Approve For Solomon To Marry Many?

Scooper Spirituality

This week this photograph of a pastor promoting polygamy trended. This is not the first time many preachers have endorsed polygamy.

They insist that because God allowed Abraham, Jacob, David, Solomon to marry many wives, he doesn't have any problem with it.

One says, "The Bible I have read cover to cover is silent in judgement against polygamy.  There's no one that will lose heaven because they married more than one wife.

You could advise a person not to marry more wives due to the economy or for the fact that his wife may be sad."

Many have also insisted that it is a white's man belief.

This is not only wrong, it is unscriptural.

Using Solomon as a case study. The fact that  God allowed Solomon to make the choice to many wives doesn't mean that God approved. Permission is definitely NOT approval and indeed Solomon’s choices brought inevitable consequences.

This was God's command long before Solomon came to being or even became King. After the children of Israel had left Egypt, God gave them this command.

Deuteronomy 17:14‭-‬17

"When you come to the land which the Lord your God gives you and you possess it and live there, and then say, We will set a king over us like all the nations that are about us, You shall surely set as king over you him whom the Lord your God will choose. One from among your brethren you shall set as king over you; you may not set a foreigner, who is not your brother, over you. But he shall not multiply horses to himself or cause the people to return to Egypt in order to multiply horses, since the Lord said to you, You shall never return that way. And he shall not multiply wives to himself, that his [mind and] heart turn not away; neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold."

However during Solomon's reign he flaunted those laws.

1Kings 11

Solomon loved many foreign women. Besides the daughter of the king of Egypt he married Hittite women and women from Moab, Ammon, Edom, and Sidon. 2 He married them even though the Lord had commanded the Israelites not to intermarry with these people, because they would cause the Israelites to give their loyalty to other gods. 3 Solomon married seven hundred princesses and also had three hundred concubines.

Verse 11

Therefore the Lord said to Solomon, Because you are doing this and have not kept My covenant and My statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely rend the kingdom from you and will give it to your servant!

Solomon was not a puppet king. God did not force him to do what was right. Rather, God laid out His will, blessed Solomon with wisdom, and expected the king to obey. In his later years, Solomon chose to disobey, and he was held accountable for his decisions.

It is instructive to note that  toward the end of Solomon’s life in The book of Ecclesiastes, God used him to write the rest of the story.

Throughout Ecclesiastes, Solomon tells us everything he tried in order to find fulfillment apart from God in this world, or “under the sun.”

He says in Ecclesiastes 2:8 “I amassed silver and gold for myself, and the treasure of kings and provinces. I acquired . . . a harem as well–the delights of the heart of man

But his harem did not bring happiness. Instead, “Everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun” (verse 11).

“Here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole [duty] of man” (12:13).”

Scooper Grammar Tips: Why You Find It Hard To Spell Some Words

Scooper Grammar Tips: Why You Find It Hard To Spell Some Words

Scooper Grammar Tips | Dec. 03, 2018

Not everyone find a set of words hard to spell but lots of people do! We are here to tackle some words that make us feel like we missed out on our English classes. This week for instance, I struggled with "Schedule" As crazy as that sounds. I would always seek auto correct to help me.

Why?

The English language has many combinations of letters that you see often. For example, CH, EI, IE and others can be particularly confusing for English learners. This is because these combinations may be pronounced differently in different words or not pronounced at all! E.g. Achieve (to accomplish, get something done)

Common misspellings of “achieve” include acheive, acheve, archieve and even achiev.

Another reason is ‘Double Consonants’. These can be even more challenging. With words in these group, the difficult thing to spell are the double consonants.

Thirdly, word may change its meaning depending on how you spell it.

These words sound absolutely the same, but are spelled differently depending on their meaning.

And finally, some words are just difficult.

You may have trouble spelling the examples above, but the words below are just hard, period. Even native English speakers have a problem spelling some words

Below are words that can be hard too.

Liaison (liason)

Both liaison and liaise boast that tricky triple vowel, a gift from French.

Convalesce (convalece)

The -sce ending in convalesce is a spelling difficulty that crops in several English words that have a Latin origin, including acquiesce, coalesce, and incandesce.

Supersede (supercede)

Derived from the Latin word “supersedere” this word is frequently misspelled as supercede thanks to the influence of words like accede and intercede.

Ecstasy (ecstacy)

Ecstasy may turn to despair when you realize that you’ve assumed that the ‘c’ at the start of ecstasy makes a later reappearance.

Caribbean (Carribean, Caribean)

The Caribbean tropics may seem slightly less alluring once you realize how much trouble you have spelling this name.

Harass (harrass)

While harass may have two different pronunciations, it doesn’t have two r’s!

Maintenance (maintainence)

Although maintenance often implies the maintaining of something, the word does not have maintain in it.

Pronunciation (pronounciation)

Even though the verb form of this word is pronounce, the noun – pronunciation – does not have that ‘o’ in the middle. Before writing the word out, you might try saying both pronunciation and pronounce out loud and hear the difference yourself.

Arctic (Artic)

Although the pronunciation without the ‘c’ sound is considered acceptable, the spelling still requires that the ‘c’ be present. (The same goes for Antarctica.)

Occurred (ocurred, occured)

Make sure that you double both the ‘c’ and the ‘r’ when you use the past tense of occur! Many verbs ending in a single ‘r’ will take a double ‘r’ in the past tense, such as recur, blur, and refer.

Why Men Pull Away: Top 3 Reasons

Why Men Pull Away: Top 3 Reasons

Almost every woman has experienced the panic and uncertainty that occur when her man starts pulling away or withdrawing. Maybe it happens out of the blue, maybe something sparks it, either way, it’s a miserable feeling, one that leaves you feeling powerless and painfully insecure.

1. He’s Stressed

It’s pretty widely known that when a man is stressed, he retreats to his “man cave.” However, there is a big difference between knowing something and really understanding it. Most women have a hard time accepting that this is how men deal with issues because when we are having a difficult time, our first instinct is to talk about it and seek comfort from friends or loved ones.

Men don’t operate this way. When a man is having a hard time, he needs to pull back and work through his issues on his own. The biggest mistake you can make is not giving him the space to do this.

2. You’re Being Needy and He Feels Suffocated

A man doesn’t have to be dealing with personal issues to feel the need to retreat. Sometimes too much neediness from you is enough to cause him to back away. Neediness isn’t so much a set of behaviors as it is a state of mind. If a man feels like you need him in order to feel OK in your life, or that you need him to fill some sort of emotional void for you, he will instinctively pull back.

Men want to feel wanted and desired, not needed. This is a very important distinction that most women overlook.

3. He’s Having Doubts About the Relationship

Doubts are normal, especially as a relationship deepens. It doesn’t necessarily mean anything about you or how great of a girlfriend you’ve been. Maybe he’s not ready for something so serious, or maybe he’s a little unsure if you’re really the woman he sees himself spending the rest of his life with. And that’s OK. Two people can love each other very much and still not be right for each other in the long run. Maybe something happened to spark these doubts (a fight, jealousy, lack of trust, etc.) or maybe it happened out of the blue. Don’t waste your time analyzing the situation to pinpoint exactly what you did wrong, this will only make you crazy.

France to Peg Age of Sexual Consent at 15

France to Peg Age of Sexual Consent at 15

Global News | Nov. 17, 2018

France has decided to set its legal age of sexual consent at 15.

This means that under the law, sex between an adult and anyone younger than 15 will be considered rape.

BBC reports that the country previously did not have a legal age of consent, and sex with people under 15 currently have to be proven as forced and coerced to be considered as rape.

Offenders may only be charged with sexual abuse with minors under the current legislation, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a fine of €75,000, same as sexual assault of non-minors.

Isn't this ridiculous.

How To Know When It’s Time To End Your Relationship

How To Know When It’s Time To End Your Relationship

NOVEMBER 9, 2018

BY OLAMIDE BUSARI

Not all relationships end because one partner does something to hurt the other. Sometimes, your life as a couple may just run its course. However, the fact that you cannot pinpoint a reason to end things makes it more likely that you’ll stay in an unhappy relationship.

These signs that a relationship is over are quite subtle. But they are just as valid as any other major reason to end things. Here they are:

He’s incapable of loving you the way you want to be loved

He might truly love you, but are you really being loved how you want to be loved?  Every individual’s definition of love is different. For instance, you may need more attention than he’s capable of providing or you have certain expectations that he simply cannot meet. In cases like these, it’s best that you both end things so you can each find someone more compatible with your respective needs.

A lack of tolerance

Nobody is perfect and your partner will definitely have quirks that may rub you off the wrong way. Usually, happy couples learn to tolerate each other and keep things going despite these tiny annoyances. However, what works for one person may not work for another. For example, if you’re a clean freak and your man is super messy, it may seem ridiculous to end things over that. But if you find that his habits are making you irritable and constantly uncomfortable, you may want to consider the fact that the relationship is over. Otherwise, resentment may fester and end up causing major problems down the line.

You stop caring

Yes, you can fall out of love with someone. It happens for a lot of reasons and while there’s a possibility of working things out, in many situations, it simply means the relationship is over. When you stop caring about your partner’s plans, goals, whether he’s had a bad day, and so on, it could mean you’ve emotionally checked out of that relationship. It’s only fair to do so physically as well.

In some cases, these situations can turn around for the better with loads of therapy and communication. But when you get to this point, especially earlier on in the relationship, you may want to cut your losses and move on.

So, have you decided that your relationship is over? Here are a few tips that should help you when breaking up with your boyfriend.

Why People Hate and Fear Maths

Why People Hate and Fear Maths

Edu Life | Nov. 08, 2018

9 out of 10 people believe that mathematics teachers are not great educators. They believe this is the first reason why many people are genuinely afraid of mathematics and fail to do well at it.

Many research are very interested in why people are afraid of mathematics but are yet to come to terms why or how math anxiety develops. Although research has shown that math anxiety and math abilities are related, no study so far has been able to tell us which comes first. In other words, we do not know if being bad at math causes math anxiety, or if having math anxiety makes people bad at maths.

In general terms, there is a notion that this ability stems from the fear of numbers. This is so common that some qualify it as a phobia—numerophobia or arithmophobia.

Here is a list of possible reasons people hate mathematics.

Abstract Quality

Maths does not have a shape and colour. It is not something that people can relate to plainly or visualize. Visualization comes from the everyday experience and relating mathematics with it requires a very good mathematics teacher.

Bad Teachers

Most people especially in Nigeria, do not enjoy teaching mathematics. Hardly will you meet someone who had genuinely wanted to study maths. The university often gives them the course as an alternative to what they originally wanted.

People’s Disposition to Maths

Many children hate maths because people around them hated maths. A strong dislike for mathematics can influence children and because they are impressionable affect them. Everything around them affects them. Be it dislike to mathematics shown by parents or teachers.

Teaching Methods

Most maths systems have not evolved. This makes teaching mathematics boring and monotonous. Students are unable to visualize the concept taught by the teacher. Therefore, their interest level goes down. Hence they start developing a disassociation with the subject. If this disassociation continues for a longer period of time child starts hating mathematics.

Mathematics Take Time

Many people hate maths because it takes time. Calculation and numbers.
