Appeal Court Declares APGA's Alex Otti Abia State Governor

The political atmosphere in Abia State, South East Nigeria, is getting very interesting, with celebration and dancing in the camp of the former Managing Director of Diamond bank, Dr. Alex Otti.

An Appeal Court has declared that Dr. Otti, candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, is the winner of the Abia State Governorship election.

The court in its ruling on Thursday ordered the swearing in of Dr. Otti, as governor of Abia State and asked Mr Okezie Ikpeazu of the PDP to vacate the office.

Mr Ikpeazu of the Peoples Democratic Party was declared winner of the governorship election held in  the state last April by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

With the judgement of the Court of Appeal, it's either Governor Ikpeazu vacates office immediate or he tries his luck at the Supreme Court.

I did the test 4 times in front of my friend, still the same, he almost fainted. I check his, it showed Negative. This happened just days day ago, I stayed with him all the night, just to make sure he doesn't do anything nasty to the lady. She woke up after like 40min, she saw little stain of blood in one of her thumb, but couldnt take it serious.

She was so shock to see me, because she thought i have already gone home, she asked me wont i go home is already late in the night. I said, am sleeping here tonight because i have a lot to discuss with your guy. She changed her mood, she went inside the room to sleep, I and my friend were awake all through out in the parlor. Morning time, guess she faked an urgent call, she parked her things back inside her bag, demanded for some money, which my friend did gave her enough, off she went away.

I felt weak and down, for breaking there relationship and also for treating the lady in such manner in other to find out her hidden agenda..My conscience has been disturbing me, but my friend thanked me a lot and now sees me as a Guardian Angel....

Please Guys and Ladies, be very careful of who you want to have unprotected s*x with, HIV IS REAL and it is not written on each person's forehead!

Welcome to the beginning of a New Year of the continuation of CHANGE in our beloved nation. I am aware that Nigerians have experienced a number of significant hardships over the past months. Living in the State House has not alienated me from your daily sufferings. I am aware of the lengthy queues at fuel stations and of the difficulties businesses have faced in acquiring foreign exchange.
These challenges are only temporary; we are working to make things better.

When I presented myself to you as a presidential candidate and asked you to vote for me, I wanted to be a leader who keeps his promises. I wanted to be a leader who restores the people's hope in those elected to serve them. I wanted to be a leader who initiates positive and enduring CHANGE.

I am still totally committed to being that kind of leader. Unforeseen circumstances and other distractions notwithstanding, I shall still do my utmost best to keep every promise I made to Nigerians during my election campaign. In the past seven months since our inauguration on May 29, 2015, my administration has focused on laying the right foundation for the CHANGE you voted for during our historic presidential election. Nigerians will in due course begin to enjoy the fruits of all our ongoing work.

The effective and efficient implementation of our 2016 budget proposals will address many of the socio-economic issues that are of current concern to our people. One area in which Nigerians, especially those in the northeast, have already begun to experience major CHANGE is in the war on terror. I commend our Armed Forces for significantly curtailing the insurgency which has ravaged the northeast of Nigeria over the past few years.

However, there is still a lot of work to be done in the area of security. Our Armed Forces will maintain, consolidate and build on their successes in the war against Boko Haram and violent extremism. This government will not consider the matter concluded until the terrorists have been completely routed and normalcy restored to all parts of the country that have been adversely affected by the Boko Haram insurgency.

Our crackdown on corruption will continue to be vigorously undertaken. I urge the courts to support our efforts and help in the recovery of stolen funds by speedily concluding trials and showing that impunity no longer has a place in our country.

There is much work to do in other areas as well and I have charged all my ministers and other appointees to ensure that Nigerians experience positive changes in their lives in 2016. We must reduce our country's reliance on oil. We must diversify our economy.

And we must do all we can to promote job creation. Our challenges are many but our determination to succeed is strong and unshaken. So too is our confidence in God. I wish you all a very

South African king sentenced to 12yrs in prison for cruelty towards his subjects

South African king Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo has been sentenced to 12-years in prison for arson, kidnap and assault of his subjects. King Dalindyebo handed himself over to the Mthatha Correctional Center in Eastern Cape province minutes before midnight on Wednesday, December 30, after failing in an 11th-hour bid to evade incarceration by seeking a retrial or a presidential pardon.

In a statement, Justice spokesperson Mthunzi Mhaga said:

"We confirm that King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo handed himself to the head of Mthatha Corresctional Centre at23h40 in the presence of the Regional Commissionerof the Eastern Cape"

In 2009, the controversial king was convicted of manslaughter, arson and assault charges for offenses committed more than two decades ago. He was sentenced to 15 years in 2009, but in October the Supreme Court dropped the manslaughter charge and reduced his sentence to 12 years on appeal.

This week he sought to further extend his bail, but a High Court judge in Mthatha threw out the request. The king's daughter, Yasmin Omar, stated that the judge had not given them reasons for his decision.

"No indication was given for when we can expect the reasons for the dismissal of the application and we will continue with the case," said Omar.

He is expected to serve his sentence in Wellington Prison, outside Mthatha.

The 51-year-old king, a self-confessed marijuana smoker, was found guilty of torching dwellings that housed some of his subjects and tenants who had resisted eviction.

He was also convicted of publicly assaulting three young men who had already been brutally beaten by his henchmen, and of kidnapping a wife and children of one of his subjects whom he considered a dissident.

The Supreme Court concluded that the king "ruled with fear and trepidation" and that "his behavior was all the more deplorable because the victims of his reign of terror were the vulnerable rural poor." It also accused him of "obstructive" action for changing his lawyers 11 times, causing 34 postponements of the case.

Dalindyebo became king of the Thembu, a Xhosa ethnic group that boasted Mandela as its most prominent clan member, in 1989. The royal family will meet next week to discuss whether a successor should be chosen due to their monarch's imprisonment.

A five-month-old baby has been reportedly killed and several others injured after an official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority attempted to arrest a commercial bus driver for violating the traffic law around the Awoyokun end of Ikorodu Road.

The yet-to-be-identified culprit was said to be among a team of traffic officials from the LASTMA’s Anthony office.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the bus driver had picked up a passenger by the roadside when the officials began trailing the vehicle.


One of the LASTMA officials was said to have jumped into the front seat in a bid to arrest the driver.

It was learnt that the driver, whose vehicle was filled with passengers, continued driving in a bid to evade arrest.

Our correspondent was told that in the ensuing struggle, the LASTMA official allegedly pulled out the ignition key as the bus crashed into a stationary refuse truck.

A witness, who did not identify himself, said the incident happened at about 12pm.

He said,

 “The driver was caught picking a passenger on the road and the LASTMA officials pursued him. They caught up with him and one of them quickly jumped into the bus and told the driver to give him the key. The driver refused and continued driving. The LASTMA officer started fighting for the control of the steering with him. Before we knew what was going on, the LASTMA man removed the key from the ignition. At this point, the bus rammed into a refuse truck.”

A commercial driver, Sola Adeyemo, said the impact of the collision flung out many of the passengers, some of whom sustained fractures.

“They broke their hands and legs. It was a serious accident. Even the bus driver was injured. A few of them were laid on the road. Those that sustained the most injuries were those by the door. A woman was critically injured and it will be a miracle if she survived it,” he added.

It was learnt that the LASTMA official responsible for the accident was equally injured.

A witness, who captured the official extricating himself from the bus, said he limped out.

He said, 

“He climbed out while we were trying to save the lives of the passengers and the driver. He stood on top of the bus and then jumped on the refuse truck. From there, he jumped over a nearby fence and ran away.”

All the victims were reportedly taken to the casualty ward of the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos.

However, some officials at the casualty ward confirmed that a baby was killed.

One of them said, 

“Some people were brought here and they sustained injuries. Immediately they came, they were attended to and those whose injuries were not serious left.

“The mother of the child who died was brought here and she was treated. The baby’s remains were taken away by the family.”

The LASTMA Public Relations Officer, Mamud Hassan, denied that any life was lost, adding that the driver of the bus was the architect of the crash.

He said, 

“The commercial bus driver is a serial traffic law violator. He had been warned several times and he did not cease his habit. On Monday, he did it again and our officials gave him the opportunity to drop the passengers at the nearest bus stop before they tried to take his vehicle into LASTMA yard, but in his desperate attempt to escape, he continued driving and making calls to his friends to come and deal with the officials.

“It was in his desperation to escape that he rammed the bus into a stationary truck. About three people sustained minor injuries, which included the official, the driver, and one other passenger.

“No life was lost. Drivers and motorists should please assist us to do our jobs. If any of our officials are caught doing anything wrong, they will be punished.”

The Police Public Relations Officer, Joe Offor, confirmed the incident, which was reported at the Ilupeju Police division.

He said passengers, who made statements alleged that the accident was caused by the LASTMA official.

“However, we do not have any record of death, except that few people sustained injuries,” he added.

A middle-aged woman, Latifat Adeleke, has asked a Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan, to dissolve her few years old marriage with her estranged hubby, Adetola Adeleke, over alleged s*xual starvation.

Latifat, a trader and mother of two, on Wednesday asked the court to end the nine-year-old marriage after declaring that she was “totally fed up.”

In her petition to the court, Latifat alleged that Adeleke, a spare parts dealer, aside from neglecting his traditional responsibilities of catering for her and the two children, had no time for her.

“Adeleke has over three to four years now, failed in his responsibilities as a husband towards me and as a father to his two children. 

“The worst of all, my Lord, is that he has kept away from having s*xual intercourse with me which greatly saddens my heart.

“We no longer stay together and the bond of love between us has disappeared,” Latifat declared.

The husband's reactions
Sadly, the husband said told the court that he was happy to part ways with Latifat. He alleged that his wife was adulterous, extravagant and a party enthusiast.

“My lord, this year, Latifat has dubiously obtained close to N300,000 from me in the name of celebrating birthday for our children.

“I once caught her red-handed with her lover on our matrimonial bed. When I asked her if what she did was right, there was no remorse, even when it actually happened on our matrimonial home,” he said.

“She has been involved in all manners of atrocities; this is why I called it all off with her.

“Please, my Lord, I don’t want her to take custody of the eight and six year-old children, because she doesn’t stay around; Latifat keeps going to parties,” Adeleke told the court.

After listening to both parties, the President of the court, Mr Ademola Odunade, adjourned the matter till Jan. 27, 2016 and directed both parties to produce any evidence they have to support their claims.

After partying too hard with pals, he pass out and his friends  then called an ambulance to the property in Khasanky, in Russia's far east.When medics arrived, they declared the man dead and took him to the morgue.

Three Nigerian men have been arrested by Indian police for allegedly gang raping a 19 year old Indian girl in West Delhi's Uttam Nagar area. The three alleged rapists are pictured sitting on the ground in the pic above and surrounded by police...

According to India police, the men were arrested on Dec. 29th after getting a statement from the victim, who claimed she was lured into the home of one of the men.

The girl, who is a student, said she came to Delhi for the holidays and was staying with her brother's female friends. On the night of the incident, she said the two women suggested they go to the club to party but instead took her to the home of one of the Nigerians. Later in the night, one of them started touching her inappropriately and when she resisted, he forced himself on her. Two other guys allegedly joined in.

In her statement to police, she said she managed to escape and contacted her brother who then called the police.

33 year old Nwachorudo Charles Echejohn and two of his friends were arrested. The two women who allegedly lured her to the home have also been arrested.

2: She nags and complains alot, One of the worst kind of woman you can marry is the one that complains about everything. If you buy this, she says you should have bought that, if you do this, she said you should have done that. Please stay away! Most women enjoy talking but the one who talks for two hours and listen for two minutes is a potential ‘bomb’.

3: Pretenders : Be wise Be very careful of a pretending partner. A pretending woman is not hard to know. She will always know everything about everything, she will be careful. Just close your eyes and open your heart and you will see!

No woman is perfect. If you see a woman who believes in your dream , who respects you who is committed and who is not all about herself alone then don’t let her go. But remember, you must not be a wayward man. I have trained you! If you find a good woman but you are a bad man, you wont have a good marriage! I won’t pick a wife for you but I have given you my advice.

When you find her, bring her for my blessings.

May you find a woman that will increase you not decrease you. Let me go and meet my beloved wife inside.

Lagos killer policeman dismissed posthumously, family to forfeit N1.5m entitlement

 The Lagos State Police Command has announced the dismissal of the policeman who shot dead two brothers and a friend and later killed himself at a Lagos hotel last week.

According to Daily Post ,the family of the policeman, Sergeant James Stephen, will also forfeit his over N1.5 million entitlement.
The policeman was dismissed posthumously by the panel set up to investigate the killing by the Lagos State Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni.

The panel also said that the policeman was on illegal duty at the hotel where the incident took place as he was actually sent to guard a bank.
The PPRO of the state police command, Joe Offor, confirmed the dismissal of the policeman to newsmen on Wednesday.
It was gathered that the affected policeman, having spent over 15 years and having attained the rank of a Sergeant, was entitled to at least N1.5 million.

Police say quick thinking by the victim of a frightening abduction and assault helped them catch her attacker in the act.
The attack happened early Monday in the back of an adult entertainment store.

Officers say Robert Giles, 27, asked the victim to call her boyfriend so he could hear the assault.

Instead of calling her boyfriend, she called 911. Police say the savvy 911 operator also kept his wits about him and played along unbeknownst to the attacker. 

“It was quick thinking on his behalf. In fact, (it) might have saved her life,” Clayton County police Maj. Joe Woodall said.

Officers say Giles kidnapped the victim from Hapeville and brought her to the closed Starship Novelties and Gifts store on Tara Boulevard around 4 a.m. Monday intending to rape her. That’s when he allegedly asked her to call her boyfriend so he could listen to the assault.

Deonte Smith was the only man working as a Clayton County dispatcher early Monday, when that call came through and he played along.

 

The victim called 911 and told her attacker it was her boyfriend. The 911 operator, Deonte Smith, played along.

“She explained to him what the perpetrator had told her; that he was wanting him to listen while she was being raped,” Woodall said.

The operator tried to talk the attacker out of the assault and sent police. Police quickly arrived and say they arrested Giles in the act.

“They were able to stop it right then and there and snatched him right from the car,” Woodall said.

 

Smith told Channel 2 Action News on Tuesday he was just doing his job, but the timing of the call was crucial.

“Honestly I’d say divine intervention,” Smith said. “I was the only guy on the floor that night. The other guy we had had just left not too long before the call came in.”

Smith said the victim deserves credit for her quick thinking while being assaulted.

 

Giles now faces rape, false imprisonment and obstruction charges. Hapeville police are preparing kidnapping charges against Giles.
